1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. I'd choose one that might suit a backstory for him/her. If not that, then probably the arrival date.

    2. hmmm..never thought about birthdays before. I just received my dolls last week, so I'm not sure if I would want to use the date ordered, opened or completed yet. The biggest issue would be that I got a boy and girl at the same time and they are supose to be significant others so that might be kinda weird to have the same birthday? We'll see. Good question gives me more to think about.

    3. Date of arrival ^___^
Its like a real birth in a way!
The days up until the doll actually arrive
are the excitement and when you
      finally get it YAY!
      haha :)

    4. the day my son's body arrived and I attached his head on it is his birthday~

    5. En...When he first came to my house, the first touch him。
That is the anniversary of his birth!

    6. It depends on who the doll represents. I had a strict character in mind for my first ABJD, so I gave her that character's birthday. My tiny, on the other hand, I bought on impulse with no character in mind so his birthday is just the day I bought him. I don't think the impulse-buying is going to be a recurring theme, though - at least I hope not! D': I don't think my wallet can take it.

    7. The date opened sounds really nice. The first time really meeting my doll, looking her in the eyes. I think that should be her birthday.

    8. I would either choose a star sign, or a milestone for my doll. If they come with a birth certificate, I'm inclined to use that date.

    9. I choose my birthday as my first doll birthday because I intend to bought myself a BD gift (though her open box date is before my BD as I can't hold it).

    10. I bought my doll on memorial day, and brought her home that same day. But, I think her birthday will be whenever the snow first starts to fall. That's when her character was born...

    11. It's kind of a mix for me.
The two boys I have on the way, since their characters are already so developed, will have birthdays according to which astrological sign suits them most. (Probably Scorpio and Aries, but I haven't quite decided yet.)
The girl I'll be getting next, since she'll probably be my only girl, will have her birthday as the day I open her.
The next boy I get after that, since he'll be my special boy, will be a day very important to me. Namely, Halloween. It's partly a spiritual thing and partly that it's my favorite holiday. :P

    12. I prefer to use the day they arrive at home :D

    13. I hadn't thought of assigning birthdays to dolls before. The arrival/opening day sounds like a good idea for the birthday. If so, today will be my new BBB Song boy Durion's birthday, since he's out on the delivery truck on his way here right now!

    14. Actually, I love that idea!!! Very smart. Just make sure that you celebrate the birthday by spoiling your doll to pieces!!! :D

    15. Have you tried looking up the astrological signs' individual personalities then choose? I recommend buying a birthday book at Borders or Barnes and Noble to help; plus it's fun finding out the birthdays for each character!!! good luck!! :D

    16. The day the doll in package arrives to my doorstep I would consider their birthday. It seems more official to me instead of just picking a date in my head. Kinda hard to do that with 'real' babies. ;D

    17. A few of my dolls have really "official" looking birth certificates with them, so naturally that's their birthday. If they don't it's their arrivial date.

    18. Each of my dolls have a chosen age that fits they`re characters. Like my Ail Elijah is 17 and my DM kid Vian girl is 8 years old. But they`re birthdays are alwayd the date of the day I got each home. I have a little doll blog on my Myspace where I write down date of arrival of every doll I get, names chosen age and such. That way I will never foget the dates I got home my dolls and how old they are in human years. I knew from the very beginning I would end up with quite a army of dolls. So I have always written down date of arrival etc.

    19. Never having had the floating head/body issue, I can say that for me it's ususally the arrival month and then a date that suits the character or story.
But if the month didnt suit- I think I'd just pick one that suited~ Or one the doll "chose".
      :>

    20. Definitely the day when they arrived to me. On that very special day when i had to finally hug them in my arms, like a mom giving birth. lol
