1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. Id go for arrival date... takin them out the box is like them being born ^^

    2. It's the day the doll arrives at my place. :sweat
If it's an OC, I'll even mess around with the personality to fit the zodiac. Actually, Lune's zodiac very much fits her personality as it is. :U

    3. I like to go with the combo of arrival date and face-up or at least putting the eyes in. My first, Xavier, was bought in pieces so I had his head with a face and eyes in a good month. His body arrived on Halloween which is too perfect for him.

Sometimes I'll buy with a hope for getting a doll with a certain sign.

    4. I go by their arrival date, my memory is so poor, if I went by anything other I'd forget!
But Im not too sure about floating heads. Probally by when the head arrives? I dont think I could celebrate the arrival of a body.. personality is generally associated with a person's face, and the body could end up being anyone really.

    5. It's the date of arrival, for me I guess.

    6. My doll's birthday is determined by the day they arrive. Even if it's just the head part (not the body) then that day is he or she's birthday. The only thing I stagger is their age. My DD arrived after my Luts Ttory boy but I still consiter her older than him because of their size.:)

    7. like alot of people, my dolls b-day is the day that he arrived.

    8. I see what type of personality they have and their apprearance and also if its a character doll then do a little research. I made my Chi's 'birthday' on April 1st, due to the fact the group CLAMP (by some random fact or another) formed their group on April First.

    9. Like most people here, I also had mine as the day they arrived. I tried to give them different days, but I could never remember. The arrival day always seems to be what came to mind

    10. Well, most of the time its the day I actually get them, but since I ordered Eden & Aren at the same time, Eden's birthday is the order date, and Aren's is the day I got them. ^^

    11. I decided Siren's birthday was the day I opened her:)

    12. The birthday or day I celebrate the birthdays of my dolls is the day I receive them.

Now if they have a birthdate on a certificate, then that's different.

    13. For my two MNF's I used the day they arrived as their "birthday". Unusually so it worked out that we three have the same Zodiac sign, as they were "born" within a week of my birthday :)

The day Aidan arrived is his birthday too, the first day of Aries. But I don't know when Seth's BD will be as he is a floating head right now...not due for his body until next month. When his body arrives and he gets attached I imagine that will be his official "birthday" too :)

    14. Both my dolls have birthdays, but they weren't determined by any factor I could name. My dolls are characters - and their backstories and everything else just come to me randomly. :sweat So... their birthdays do too.

    15. For my first doll I choosed the day I bought him, the second the day he arrived

    16. I would say, the date I placed the order.

    17. For me I'd say its the day the doll is finally finished just the way you want him/her, with the right eyes, wig and face-up ^-^

    18. I can't even remember my own birthday let alone my dolls'. But if I could, I would say it was the day they arrived as a complete head+body. So yeah... couple heads floating around don't get to have birthdays just yet. They might be angry, but without arms and legs what are they gonna do? Certainly not eat birthday cake.

    19. I use the day I open the box as my doll's birthday....(so I'm be the one he or she see first on the day they are born...

    20. For me the day he arrived makes more sense. But then again, maybe the date he left DOD (since that was when he as done.)
