Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

    1. The day of arrival is the birthday. The day I receive my doll is when I celebrate getting him, that makes the most sense to me.

    2. Well, since most of the dolls I have/plan on getting are all based on characters of mine, and those characters have set birthdays, I tend to say that the doll's birthday is the day that I chose initially. The day that the doll arrives is, well... the arrival date.
      That's just the way I do things. ^_^

    3. I don't have a doll, but I will use the date it arrive my house. If I'm getting 2nd hand doll parts to form a doll, then the date it is completed. ^^

    4. Opening the tape on the delivery box should be like performing a C-section! XD HAHA! Such a strange way to put it. But yes, as soon as it arrived by mail and as soon as I opened it would be the Time of Birth. XD

    8. I usually don't pay attention to birthdays (I don't not my own and sadly, not other people's, either--I don't know why, I guess I'm just not a birthday-person! I could never remember anyone's birthdays, for some reason!).

      But Volks noted down the birthday of my One-Off as the day I purchased him (the date of the Volks Mansion Tea Party)--so I guess that's as good a date as any!

    9. I decided to bury out this old thread again... I'm going to have Henrietta from the customs here in two hours or so, and I'm thinking heavily.

      She is a classical autumn character to me, and I want her birthday to be in September, but I also want to make her arrival day a special one. So, I think I will just have today as her "special day" or something, just like your name day is an event different from your birthday, but in some families it is celebrated greatly.

      It might just get a little confusing with more dolls when everyone has two days for themselves *_*

    10. I would use the common date of arrival. Well.. for a doll not made from an existing character of mine.

      If it were an existing character, it would be the one I gave them, of course.

    13. It's as if with the names, it just happens. Mostly I first and foremost picture the western zodiac that will suit them and their personality the best, and that gives me a month or two, and then a day just pops in. Easy and randomly.

      Dio - 2nd of june, gemini
      Prince - 9th of january, capricorn (this is actually not random. I gave him Severus Snape's birthday, since he already had his name too.... yeah I am mushy ok! D: )
      Constantine - 26th of october, libra
      Hel - 12th of august, virgo

      Anywais, I was first planning on the entire "when they arrive" date thing, but it just didn't work out. Didn't suit them at all.

    15. Emily`s birthday is on Halloween, since I love that day. Her arrival day will be sort of a second birthday. I like having a lot of birthdays. Good excuse for having cake and tea-parties, lol.

    16. Let's see... I received Alexis previously loved from a friend, (comicbookartistboi) so her "birthday" is the day that I made my last payment for her. (April 15th) Caleb is the first doll I actually ordered from a company, so his "deathday" (he's a ghost) is the day I ordered him. (March 4th) Vex is just a floating head right now, so when I finaly get around to finding a body for her, the day she is complete will be her "birthday".

    17. for Aren hes birthday will be when he gets hes body, but thats just cause I was way to exited and dident pay attention to the date he actually got here.

      for any other dolls I get it will be the day they get here unless their stury says otherwise or something.:sweat

    19. i could use a little advice...

      because i own 3 dolls and one head, but they all arrived around the same time. i dont really want 4 birthdays all around the same time.

      well, my jeong was supposed to be in last august but luts sent me the wrong head...so although i got my first BJD in august, i didnt actually have the right one until december

      plus i cant remember the exact dates of arrival @_@ maybe i should just makes dates up. blarg! i need to know, i want par-tays XD

    20. Mine are date of arrival, or when a floating head is finally given a body of his own. (I seem to have a lot of March birthdays, but most of them space out through the year.)
