1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. I keep them all boxed up with only one doll out for display in my bedroom. The resin does change color even if they are kept stored.

    2. My doll isn't really on display, I guess. He stays in my closet, the safe zone, because I'm afraid one of my pets will do something. I would put him on a shelf, but I'm not the tallest person, and he'd have to be high up for my kitty not to get him, which she seems to like doing. Don't get me started on the dust and dog hair all around, ick.

    3. I used to have a shelf for them to sit on, shielded by a folding screen, but since I got new bedroom furniture I had to take out the shelf and rearrange things a bit. Right now they're all on my dresser where I can see 'em. :) I have blackout curtains, so I'm not worried about sun getting to them, but I would like to find a new spot for them soonish.

    4. Right now I keep them in their boxes while I'm not at home, because my kitties are curious and tend to knock stuff off the shelves and in some cases one has been know to drag my stuff off to torture else where. But if and when I ever find a bigger house where I can put my dollies and stuff animals in a room that has a door then I'll have them out more often! :kitty2

    5. I keep my dolls in our living room in a bookshelf behind glass doors. Everyone can see them and admire them! =D I think they should be seen, not spend their time in a box, because they too are pretty decorations!

    6. I keep them on a shelf!:)

    7. I have a 6 ft tall bookshelf. My boys are sitting on the top shelf so the cats don't bother them. They aren't anywhere near direct sunlight and the lamp I have is pretty dim and on the other side of the room so they have it pretty good I'd say.

    8. For now they are in boxes... in the garage :doh I had them out on display but we had to move around stuff in our room when we got the carpets cleaned and now there is no room for them or even their boxes *_* Or the only place there is, is the one spot where the sun would beat down on them all day :...( and there is construction going on in our basement so I put them in the garage where it is shady and cool. I wish I could have them in our bedroom though :( But we also have a cat that would get after them :atremblin

    9. Mine are on various shelves of the bookcase for now, but once I move in with my boyfriend, they'll have to be stored away. Both for sunlight issues and they freak him out!
Doesn't stop the plan to buy more though! :)

    10. I sit them on/around my computer. I never really thought about it, but they get very little sunlight. I couldn't pack them away out of sight. That would be a waste of money in my eyes. DX

    11. I usually keep my doll in a box at night to sleep. During the day he sits at my desk near my computer, but because of the light, he is slightly yellow. (barely noticeable and kinda looks good) Now whenever I bring him into my room in the morning, I have the box opened but with the blanket covering him.

    12. my girl spends most of her time in her box because of my cat so I don't display her but when I want to see her I display her on this little toddler-sized bamboo chair that my grandma gave me

    13. I keep Alys in her box for now, but next time I move I intend to look into an apartment with a room that will get indirect light, and get a doll display table/cupboard. Displaying her isn't feasible right now because there are no curtain rods for installing heavier curtains, and the default shades hardly block any of the direct light that comes into my west facing rooms.

    14. I keep them in a closet.

    15. I've got mine on display in my room in a curio. Some of the pillows they've shipped with are used to block out direct light from the side as it sits beside a window (darkness is all that's seen when they're as opaque as what RS included with my Pixiu). YoSD's on one shelf, MSD and SD's on another. Floating heads, well, they're actually on dollstands and I happen to have a cloak for my Pixiu that, when not worn, makes for a "body" for the lowest head then the others peek from behind as well increasing in height.

    16. all of mine but one, are in my windowless bedroom :D they have an entire bookcase to themselves .i'll take a pic eventually... lol

    17. My boys are living in an old TV cabinet that I knocked a shelf out of. I attached a curtain rail to the front which I hang a heavy scarf over and pull across to block out light. The cabinet doesn't get any direct sun but I thought it would help to protect them. I can't put them away in boxes as I love seeing them and doing things with them everyday. There is also space in the cupboards underneath to store cloths, props etc...

    18. Mine are sitting next to me near the computer as I am on here most of the day. This way I can enjoy them most of the day. I am lucky that I collect the Tinies.:)

    19. I had a special stillage ordered for them as I have a lot of different kinds of dolls. Although I wish I had a glass showcase for them someday.. or a whole room of showcases)

    20. I am planning to make a little 'room' for my future doll on the shelf above my desk. I'm going to buy a bed and other stuff to decorate it. I can't wait!
