1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. My roommates and I have this little shelf in the living room that we display our babies on.
It makes for great conversation starters, plus we get to enjoy them out in the open.
We're super careful to not keep them in direct sun; but a lit up room doesnt seem to harm them. ^^

    2. Oh man, you guys have some lovely set ups to display your dolls in. I wish I had the space to do so. My guys pretty much have to stay in their boxes when I don't have them out. We have absolutely no place to display my larger dolls and I'm worried our cats would knock over break my smaller dolls (they climb everything). I'm hoping that if we ever move and get a house with a little more space I'll be able to have my own hobby room where I can display all my dolls.

    3. I usually make some installations. I had a spare drawer with an empty top so I just composed everything there. It's far from the direct sun light so this place is probably the best place for the display.

That is such a cute way to display your dolls! Good note for when I get mine :D

    5. I don't have a shelf as of yet as my room's space is very limited. My room's really really quite small - I'm like Harry Potter! So, my boy Ryul just sits on top of my desk because I have these little boxes and things he just sits there on. (He's currently sat crossed-legged on my Death Note notebook )

I think I would like to make things like I see people doing, making little things for their dolls to sit on but right now, that's not something I can really do :pout:

    6. My BJD are on a shelf or in their diorama and sometimes some are on my desk

    7. I have my BJD out on the shelf at the moment but he also has chairs and a lounge to sit in (I also have doll stands so I don’t have to leave him sitting around all the time). I just can’t stand the idea of putting him away, I like looking at him too much. Eventually I’d like to be able to make some rooms for him and any incoming dolls, but for now I have a major space issue to contend with. As for sunlight issues, I just keep the curtains drawn in my bedroom and that cuts most of the light that comes in so I don’t worry too much about that.

    8. Mine are all sitting out in my room (except headless/body-less one :) Some are sitting on book shelf, some are on a small table near my working desk. I really like to display them over keeping them in their box. But if I will be absent from my room a while, like for a trip or so, I'll put them back to boxes. And I usually don't put my doll on high places for standing because am afraid that they will fall and get damage. :pout:

    9. I have a table in my living room (same wall as the window so no sunlight is getting over there) that me and my mom converted into a small bedroom. It has a bed I painted over a little possible stature wearing one of Rose's coats and a decorated tube that I won't finish till I move (it's gonna have blue lights in it) I'm sure all my dolls in the end won't fit there lol but these two fit MSD sized is so easy to fit anywhere. I will post a picture after my doll meet today it's a mess since I'm still getting them ready to go out.

    10. My dolls are sitting on my shelf, with tons of books and mangas together :). I'm planning to install an own shelf for my dolls soon.

    11. My crew currently lives in two compartments of an well known Ikea storage unit in my bedroom :3nodding:
High enough so my cats can't get up there with them (no high jumpers). And the bedroom still seems the best place after all those years. Nice and dark and that's were I usually have some space left.
Still planning on making some sort of doll room in the future because I really like those.

    12. My mother is actually planning to buy me an cabinet to house my dolls. Kind of her throwing in the towel and supporting me in the hobby.

    13. In my bookshelf!! Kinda troublesome though because I need to pick them up and repose them if I want to take a book. But i don't have anymore places to put them on display TT_TT
I'm thinking to make acrylic cases though!!

    14. At the moment they are lined up sitting on my chest of drawers in my room until I can find a proper display space for them.

    15. I have a shelf for my dolls in my room but often one or more is sitting on my night stand or my sewing table, too. I want to get them a glass cabinet one day.

    16. mine have a cute little couch, when i move out they're getting a nice glass cabinet (my cat is way too curious)

    17. Mine sit on my desk, luckily enough my cat has no interest in them so they're safe from her.

    18. Mine stay in their boxes in the closet. I have cats and limited space to keep them, so it's safer if they just stay there when I don't have them out to do things with.

I dream of someday moving to a bigger place with a spare bedroom I can turn into an art studio/sewing room/library that will always have the door shut so I can have the dolls out in there. I don't know when that will happen.

    19. My dolls have their own area on the floor of my crafting room. I bought a number of dolly-sized chairs for them, and they are sitting around in various poses. I move them every few days. Luckily, my three kitties have no interest in the dolls! American Girl chairs work really well for SD size dolls.

Mirrin, that's exactly what I planned for when my husband decided he wanted to buy this house a few months ago! It was a long wait to get a doll/crafting space just for me (I just had my 38th birthday!).

    20. Out of my 14, about 6 are out and about. The others stay in their boxes in their designated hiding places, ie sock drawer, craft drawer, under the bed, etc. My family has knowledge of the 6 so I just have them out and don't care about hiding them anymore. Two of my MSDs have been out continuously in their stands for about a month now. My SD girls sit out in my closet and come out on a daily basis. Usually they take turns sitting guard on my nightstand while I sleep lol.
