It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. I love this thread, as I was always curious what others did with their dolls. I used to keep my 3 sitting on my computer desk in my bedroom so I could touch and admire them whenever I felt like it. I couldn't imagine boxing them up everyday. However, that was back before I had kids... so... with two toddlers running rampant (one of them literally climbed the kitchen counter and got a box of cereal off the top of the fridge today) I'm not sure where I'll put BJDs when I do get more. They may have to stay in their boxes as NOTHING is safe in this house.

    2. What an intrestin topic :3
Well, my dolls are stored mainly in my bookcase - first of all, because the glass on the doors of it are quite dark - so no sunlight to them ^^ And some are sitting near me on my table - probably those I plan to take photos of.

    3. Right now I do not display my doll. He and the heads I own stay in their boxes. However, it is my hope to one day have a place with room for a cabinet or and set of shelves where I can keep them. I feel kind of bad that my boy has to stay in his box all the time XD

    4. Vevet, how clever, that's a great idea !
I didn't know about this UV protection film, is it expensive ?
I love your display, but I also like dioramas and little scenes, so I need more space !

    5. My dolls have their own chair in their own size. They're sitting on a shelf (decorated). I keep them in dark places but sometimes I turn them around. (Because they do yellow a bit I think… so I'm trying to let them yellow the same everywhere) I don't want to keep my dolls in their boxes. I just want to look at them.

    6. Pupperdoll: Oh thanks! :) The UV protection film is not expensive, mine was less than $30 is a good invest. I think you can make dioramas inside that bookcase. I would love to see that :aheartbea

    7. I do not display my dolls. Cuz I dont like to be yellowed... so I put mine to box most time :)

    8. I have a little shelf right above my desk and I have these little decorative shoe boxes with my extra bjd stuff in them. My girls sit on them wih their legs hanging off the side. It kind of reminds me of them sitting on a dock. I really love them sitting there.:)

    9. I display mine in my room inside of a glass cabinet~ I usually don't use my room that much (other than sleeping in it xD) so I am not really worried about sunlight/artificial light. Even when the windows are opened, my cabinet is facing sideways, so it generally is never even near my dolls. I also keep a lot of other models/statues in there too~

    10. I have my dolls where ever I go in my house if I am in the living room I put them all there with me if I'm in my room I put them right next to me or if I go to bed they are right next to my bed sleeping in their bed I made for them. Only place in the house I don't take them is in or near the bathroom.

    11. I cleared out a bookshelf for my new girl, Pippa (Mystic Kids Lillian), and her J-Doll friend. They don't have a lot going on in there yet, because I just got Pippa yesterday and I was having a hard time envisioning scale 'til she arrived. Right now there's a couch that I made for my J-Doll, but it's too small for Pippa. I'm working on a rug (crochet chain that will be coiled on a felt piece to make an oval rug) and I plan to do some kind of floor and wallcovering, too. They're on a shelf at about rib-cage height that will hopefully keep my 4 kitties from getting involved. I'm excited about making/modding furniture and props for them. :)

Where do yours live? I'd love to read about it, and to see pics if you'd care to share! :)

    12. I keep all my dolls in their boxes stacked in my room ;-; I wish I had space for a lovely little room/diorama for them

    13. I have a large steamer trunk - the majority of my dolls live in there, except for the smaller ones, which have tinier, similar boxes. One of the MSDs get the honor of her own box though, and resides in a Rozen-Maiden style trunk that I made. :)

    14. My SD couple is currently demanding a full living room atop my dresser, I just have to get my butt in gear and finish the furniture. They've got two armchairs which I need to re-upholster and add some height to, I'm knitting them a rug, and then I'm making an end table as well and possibly a bookcase.

My tinies are occupying a bench on a shelf at the moment, but this last weekend I found a nice, deep little cabinet with clear sliding doors which I'm going to remake into their new apartment.

My lone MSD boy doesn't really have his own home at the moment, he just sits on another shelf up above my bed or wherever he feels like and plays with his DS lite and ignores everyone else.Teenagers, ugh.

    15. My dolls are currently sitting in a makeshift couch I made out of a large packing foam. Till I get my head together and either create a proper couch for them or make some space in my display cabinet, I guess that's where they'll stay for now.

    16. They sit in two wall cabinets next to my bed and one is in my bed at least.

    17. My yosd sits on a bookself i my living room he has a whole floor to himself :p

    18. My ball-jointed dolls currently reside in their boxes when I'm not playing with them. Due to their size they're not easy to leave lying around and expect nothing to happen. My dog loves to play with them and so do the children of my partner. I can't keep count on how many times I have to tell them 'These dolls are not toys! Leave them alone when we're not playing together'. *sigh* I don't want to risk anything happening to them. I miss being able to see them in the room though so I'm planning on purchasing a tiny just for that purpose.

I could just carry it to wherever I am at the moment without having to worry about the dog using it as a chew toy or the children trying out make-up on them. Poor dolls...such a rough life.

    19. My boy lives in a drawer that's part of the underside of my bed!! Ikea is really great with these functional bed frames hahahaha

    20. My BJD just sits on this small star chair XD,he used to stay in his box but currently I just keep him out and sit him anywhere.
