1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. In flat plastic boxes on metal shelves. Though I would love to leave them out, the earthquakes here are so unpredictable that I don't really want them lying around while I'm away for long periods of time. I also have to look out for soot and mold.

    2. One long shelf that used to house a BUNCH of stuff obtained over the years. Now it holds my dolls, their toys... Socks... Furniture... Their "room" is messy and needs a good cleaning. I also have a runner down made from fabric so it looks like carpeting. They have more stuff then I have room for though. (This is another reason why I'm trying not to obtain anymore dolls this year... I am starting to run out of ROOM to keep them displayed.)

    3. My dolls live in drawer on pillows

    4. I have a bookshelf that I keep them on. They stay with my comic books and are protected by a frosted glass door. They have plenty of food and toys to keep them happy.

    5. Aya (my Limhwa Lily) currently stands (with the aid of a doll stand) on a small bedside table that used to be occupied solely by my boom box. Now they share the space, but I might relocate either the boom box or Aya when my Edwin from Iple comes in :3

    6. Mine mostly go in the living-room:

Although I do have a few (along with all the clothes, shoes, wigs etc) on a long shelving unit in the spare bedroom.

    7. I keep my dolls in an IKEA Detolf display case, along with my anime figures.

    8. On my dresser in my bedroom. One stays in the living room on a table with flowers.

    9. On a long bench made of Doll boxes on the floor of one of my closets. The used to have a couch but the crew is now to big to fit on it (my poor MSD was always sitting on the arm rest propped against the wall anyway) and have now moved to the bench. The box I just got with my LUTS SSDF body is the perfect size for all of them so that is their home now. Except for one couple who gets to sneak off into the little side "room" formed by the closet shelves. I switch out which couple gets "private time" every so often.

I want to get a table and chairs for my current MSD and the one I am planning on getting later this year. I also would love to convert the top of an old card table into a room for them. Maybe I would do the space underneath so that I could put up a table skirt as nice, sunblocking curtains. Hopefully we will be in a new house by the end of the year so that I can put my grand plans into action!

    10. [IMG]All doll family by SteamWitch BJDmama, on Flickr

They live on a shelf with two couches and a dolly hat rack above my bed, for now. working on a diorama in the corner of my room.

    11. Four of mine sit on shelves among anime figurines and stuffed animals. Then my fifth one sits alone on my dresser...he's too big to fit on the shelf. His head does not clear the shelf above where they all sit.

    12. I ordered my first doll and am awaiting his arrival and I've been trying to figure out where he's going to reside. This thread has been very helpful in giving me ideas for his new home.

Update 5/27/15 - My doll just got here less than a week ago and he was very early as I wasn't expecting him for another 1-2 months so I was not prepared for his arrival. So until my husband can make him the throne I'd like for him, he sits in his room in his box, lounging in the bathrobe he came in.

    13. I have two dolls, a MSD and a tiny, and both sit on one of my bookshelves in my bedroom. I may have to do something else once my SD arrives, though, as I don't think she'll fit there.

    14. I have a set of matched display cabinets for most of my crew.

    15. I have a pair of glass top desks side by side in my home office and all the dolls have room here. I stumbled upon a perfect little 1/3 scale garden bench that will seat three of them across and a couple of stands. It's pretty cool and homey feeling, and having them on my desks motivates me to keep them (desk and dolls) dusted and tidy.

Which of course it isn't at this very moment or I would post a picture. ;)

    16. In a wooden chest in the back of my walk-in closet. :)

    17. All of our dolls (we're currently at 24, mostly SDs) are kept on stands in a bookshelf with glass doors from IKEA. They're facing away from the windows in the room and have a blanket covering them when no one's in the room to admire them.

Here it is on the day we assembled it. We were still waiting for some stands then... and we've got more dolls to fill it now, ahaha.)

    18. Most of mine actually live in their boxes and I take them out when I want to play with them. The exception is my Soom Crow, who sits on a shelf in my bedroom. I just don't have enough room to keep their boxes and put them on display in my apartment so I have to compromise.

    19. My crew currently take up two shelves worth of space(i took out one of the partitions to make room for these big guys) on one of my bedroom bookshelves,
whilst all their stuff take up two plastic shelves :)

sorry the photo's not the best :)

    20. In my bedroom , in a glass case, covered by black velvet fabric to protect them from the sun in the window.
