1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. When we moved, I got a doll room. Shelves cover the walls, and the dolls live with the furniture collected over the years. Since there is only one curtained window, it is easy to keep the UV to a minimum.

    2. I currently have 6 on shelves in my room and two on the desk. Not sure where I'm gonna put my next one. There's no room left! XD

    3. usually on shelves or in box room
but now in their box (I'M moving)

    4. On shelves in my bedroom. And on top of my bookcase. And on my dresser. They've sort of taken over.

    5. Most of mine live on a doubled-up set of bookshelves in my bedroom. One tall one, one half-height one, with the backing removed from the top of the taller one so the shelf is visible from both sides. The tinies are on the narrow shelf up top, with larger ones on the double-wide shelf below (half of which is the top of the short shelf). Another group of larger ones is on the narrow shelf at the bottom, and the back of the other one holds clothes and spare parts. Each shelf also has furniture (chairs, benches, etc) for them to sit on.

There's also a handful of tinies on a wall-mounted shelf on the other side of the room, and neither shelf is in line with where the light comes in the window in the afternoons.

    6. in the closet

    7. I have a specific shelf on my bookcases for them to live, but at the moment they're all over my room, spread out over 3 shelves and sitting on an open drawer.

    8. Right now I don't have any safe place to display my dolls so they are stored indise our couch (there's a place to store blankets, pillows, etc..). I'm planning to get a bookshelf with glass doors.

    9. I'm hoping to buy an Ikea shelf whenever I buy some more cx

    10. I keep him in the closet too

    11. I just sit them on my shelf

    12. When we moved our friends were kind enough to give us a big buffet that they no longer wanted. It is PERFECT for my dolls!
(this is a somewhat outdated photo, but if gives you the general idea)

I have them sitting on various wooden boxes that have smaller props inside. The cabinet below stores my tripod and light for photography as well as some fabric for backdrops as well as doll furniture. When I am not in the room to enjoy my dolls, I drape some black out curtain liner material over my dolls. No dust and no light to yellow them. It really is the perfect setup for me. :)

    13. since my bedroom is about to be all taken apart and re-arranged my smaller dolls are currently on my bookcase, their bed is on my sofabed and my big doll just goes where ever i can get him to sit/lay/stand xD Oh, and Musou is basically always in Kage's arms so they just chill together regardless of whether they're on their bed or on the bookcase xD they should be back where they belong this time next month... i hope o.o

    14. On the corner of my desk. See my avatar. :)

    15. Duplicate post, didn't realize I had already posted in this thread earlier. Mods, please delete and my apologies.

    16. I have them sitting on a bookshelf that only gets heavily filtered sun (thanks, trees...)

    17. I leave the blinds closed in my house all the time so I have my dolls out. They still get some light that comes in and the light from lamps. They are not in cases or in any particular place. I have dolls all over my house. The BJDs seem to congregate in about 3 places. I bought them to enjoy them and not store them in boxes. I want to look at them and be glad I have them. I am aging, so if they do a bit too, that is OK.

    18. Sit down near the TV or posing in my bed [emoji1] it scares me a lot to let him stood up because I think he may fall, so he is always sitting or laying down

    19. I've read some collectors saying they keep their dolls in their boxes or keep them covered up so they won't be exposed to light. A couple of people said they only take them out to photograph them.
I am wondering what you do to protect your dolls, but still enjoy them. I don't want to hide my dolls where I can't see them.

    20. I made a living room diorama in the corner of my craft room for my whole dolls (which is away from sunlight so they can be out). My floating heads and other parts are put away, however.
