1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. Right now I'm setting them up in little displays around my room uvu it makes me so happy to see them around like this!

    2. Still waiting on my doll to arrive, but I have a shelf set up in my room for him :) It is at the back of the dark but open closet near my desk, so no sunlight will get in there but it is still a place where I can easily look over at him and see him! When I have guests over I'll turn on the light in that area for a bit to display him.

    3. Mine sit on top of my dresser, which is wedged into a corner of the bedroom. I wish I had a pretty glass cabinet for them (especially to protect them from the cat! I got the cat after I got the dolls) but alas, furniture is spendy.

    4. Mine are mostly in my walk-in closet on a shelf that I have set up with their toys. I visit them every day and take them out and play with them or have them sit by me when I'm on my computer :dance

I'm hoping to get a display cabinet for them soon!

    5. Right now mine are on my dresser and on a side table. My YoSD has furniture, a little bench and dresser, and a bunch of toys, so I'd like to have somewhere to be a little room for her. My other dolls are either sitting on something or standing on stands. I REALLY want the cabinet that matches my dresser and nightstand to put dolls in, but it's a) expensive, b) large so therefore difficult to transport, and c) large and also difficult to fit in my room. When my sister's friend moves out here to stay with us, she's bringing cats, so I have to have storage options before then.

    6. I treat mine like small people. They sit on my desk and when I feel like one is being neglected, I move it closer to me so I can play with them or change their clothes or give them some dumb thing to wear on their heads.

When I go out to nice places I like to bring one doll with me. It varies on which one. But I'm with you, I don't want to sink $200+ on a doll and then store it out of sight. I'd totally forget I ever had one.

I'm pretty sure most doll owners would scream at me if they saw how I have them out but it's the best way for me to enjoy them :L

    7. Yuki always sits next to me or on my lap when i'm home, watching anime or manga ~ Like, just enjoying our free time together. When i have to study, he will sit on the table where i can cuddle him anytime =]] I once thought about keeping him in the closet to prevent yellowing but, that would be so lonely, for both of us, so yea :)

    8. I now have a display area for my dolls. They're on top of a dresser, in front of and in a hutch of shelves. The MSD is short enough to fit standing on the lowest shelf, but the SD girls are too tall. They're on stands to keep them safe and secure.

    9. I have some of mine displayed on a book shelf and a few of them are in a glass dollcase. Always looking for new ways to show them off.

    10. I like having them sit on the edge of my computer desk. Literally, not figuratively, if they were standing a stray elbow is bound to happen. I like having them within view when they're out of the box.

    11. Unfortunately, my roommate is recovering from pediophobia so my girls have to stay in the closet where their boxes are the safest place for them to be. But she's made huge steps forward since we met in middle school. In January, she finally decided she was ok to have dolls in the apartment and now she's even considering getting a BJD of her own! I'm so proud of her. Hopefully, when she gets her own dolls, we'll be able to display them together.

    12. i haven't finished yet but i plan to create a dolls house in a wardrobe and display my dolls there

    13. All my dolls are on display in a big closet with doors in my home office... so when in my office, the doors are open I can enjoy them, when I am not in the office, I close the doors.

    14. Now my dolls are sitting at the end of my bookshelf, but I'm getting a wood & glass showcase (ex. dentist's instrument cabinet) from my late grandmothers house, it'll be perfect for dolls.

The sun never shines directly into my room, so I feel comfortable keeping the dolls out on display. I feel happy looking at them, so it's nice to keep them out. Although if I'm gone for a longer time, I usually put them to their boxes or closet, just in case.

    15. Mine just sits on shelves and dressers, it depends where I feel like putting her. :) I was worried about sun exposure at first, but I could never put her somewhere where she wouldn't be seen, she's just too pretty! :P

    16. I change my curtain to a darker colour (dark blue) for example, so I display them around my room, and some of them are on my bed (lucky my bed is quite spacious) so whenever I want to play I just play with them, or fixing their clothes or eyes, or hair. Almost all of them wear white clothes, I only change them to darker color when I had to bring them out or took some photo.

    17. I have my tiny on a shelf in my room it's kind of funny though because she has no wig, face up, or clothing. So she's just sitting there blank haha

    18. For a long time I used to keep my dolls in their boxes under my bed. I get one or two out of their box for their customization or in order to take pictures of it.
But that's kind of frustating, so I ended with more and more dolls out of their boxes!

Now I move in a house where I have a room as workshop. Half of my dolls are keep their in their boxes. A quarter are out of their boxes, in the room, shutter closed. I have four dolls displayed in a showcase, and I put one on a stand, on a furniture in the living room. I regulary change the doll in the living room, in order to avoid yellowing :)

    19. I have a cabinet in my spare room that I have some sitting on, and the others are downstairs on one of couches with my plushies. Occasionally one will be with me when I'm on the computer. I'd like to get some stands so I can move them all to the side table in my living room though.

    20. I don't really have much room for my doll atm, and I still don't have all the clothes and stuff I need for her. So at the moment, she is still in her box. :( She is my first BJD and I'm really paranoid about ruining her at the moment, but I'm hoping to decorate/clear out my room soon so I have room to have her out! :)
