1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. Most of our mini size dolls live in a glass-fronted cabinet in the living room. A few other minis, two SDs, and our tinies live on the highest shelf of my girlfriend's desk. Those are all the ones that are visible / on display in our apartment. :)

The other SDs live in our closet on a night table and some wire shelving:

It's the safest place for them. :)

For my incoming Obitsu girls, I've cleared a space on a corner bookshelf by my bed for them, so that I can look up and see them, but where my cats can't get them. That's the biggest concern right now -- keeping the dolls away from the wig-munching kittens!

    2. I have all of my dolls on my bookshelf, except for my Iplehouse EID Man, he has to sit in the closet because he's too big :XD: I'm not really that worried about sunlight exposure, because the bookshelf is on the same walls as the windows, so they're in the shadiest area in my room. I also have blackout curtains, so not much light comes into my room during the day.

    3. I have all my dolls on the book shelf in my livingroom. I love posing them, taking them down to hold and seeing them every day.

    4. I do not have my dolls displayed the way I would want them to be but it is the only thing I have.
They are sit over a metal box, hugging one another, because I really don't have more space right now.
I hope that when I move with my fiancรฉ (hopefully in two years from now) I will have a tall crystal cabinet to have them displayed standing.

    5. I put 'em on bookcases or shelves but make sure direct sunlight doesn't reach 'em. I'm not super picky if there's a smidge of light as long as they're not sitting directly in it's rays. Displaying is not exactly my style, so they generally sit in a random spot until I play around with 'em.

    6. I have a little corner on my desk that never gets alot of direct sunlight. I put some furniture there so she can chill with me whenever I want. I will probably let her stay there most of the time. (She hasn't arrived yet, that's why haha)

    7. i never display them in fear of uv light... i just take them out to take pictures

    8. I like to have one doll out on display at a time, in a spot on my livingroom mantel where I can enjoy looking at them often. I rotate thru them in no particular order or timeframe; usually I find myself choosing whose turn it is to be the current display doll by who I've just finished a new sewing or crafting project for (or bought an amazing new pair of shoes for!). Everyone else hangs out in their boxes when I'm not actually playing with them, because I don't have the space set up and dedicated right now for a nice display where they're not all just crowded in a big pile just for the sake of having them out. Ideally what I would want is a display area big enough to hold them all with enough space for each doll to be nicely posed and set up with props, but building that will be quite some time away since I have a billion and one more pressing projects to take care of in our house remodeling before I get to tearing apart and rebuilding my art/doll room. Eventually, tho.....

    9. I bought a monoblock chair just for my dolls. I display them beside my bed, my room is pretty hot in the day, so I carry them down and display them in my parent's room before I go to the office. I'm not afraid of in time, all dolls will yellow gradually, so is mine, so I'm enjoying every moment I spend with them.

    10. I love to see how people display their dolls. To me, I feel like just keeping them tucked away under a bed is such a waste... but again, that's me personally.
I have yet to decide how I want to display my doll... but that's mostly because I am currently in a loft, with cats and a dog. While the dog doesn't go upstairs into the bedroom area while I am away, the cats have free range... and without a door I'm not sure how comfortable I feel.. They are more curious than anything, I just don't want any problems... so I guess I may have to wait off :c

    11. I cleared a space on the shelf for doll stuff about a week before Christmas. I bought a $1 doll rocking chair at AC Moores for my resinsoul a few weeks back, so I just sit her in that so she doesn't risk falling over.

    12. I have them in my room on my dresser all standing next to each other. My room gets poor lighting so it seems to be the safest place for them. Occasionally a couple will find their way into the living room as well. Eventually I would like to have a shelf or a table specifically for my dolls, but apartments only have so much room unfortunately.

    13. Would you keep your doll in a box or presenting it in a shelf?
If u keep it on shelf, would u make it well dressed or in bare body?
And would u keep the box and certificate if it is on shelf?

    14. I think there's probably a thread about this somewhere, so it might get merged in by the mods. But, I'll answer here anyway :XD: I keep my dolls out on display, dressed up. For me it's no fun to have them stowed away, even if they yellow (I just keep them out of direct sunlight)!
My bed's headboard is itself a shelf, so I like to keep a doll or two there hanging out with me all the time :aheartbea Then I have a display table, with a couch and some props, for everyone else. I have this skeleton of a dollhouse my mom made me years ago for my American Girl dolls, and we are planning to spruce it up and put it back in my room for my BJDs to live in :love

    15. Mine lives on a shelf inside my wardrobe. When I'm home I usually have the doors open so I can see her easily, but I close the doors when people are over & when I go out so that she doesn't get damaged by sunlight or visitors.

    16. I like to keep mine mostly put away in the closet, and just take them out when I'm actively playing with them. Because for me, if I stare at them randomly all day then I quickly get sick of seeing them, I find I treasure them more when I only take them out sometimes

    17. I am wanting a glass case with a stand that would hook around the doll's waist.

    18. I want that too! Thingking of getting that glass case from ikea, and i already ordered my doll stand that hook around waist at tata's :)

    19. I don't have much space and I don't have any nice shelves or anything for them, so my 2/3 dolls that I have with me live in their box together. I don't ever close them up, but I do make a point of keeping them out of the sunlight. I like having them around where I can see them a lot. I'm far away from home, so they help comfort me when I feel sad.

    20. I have mine spread out in four glass cabinets (IKEA ftw!) all dressed up (and am currently doing little displays around them as I find more stuff) - yellowing is of course a risk but my room does not get hit with direct sunlight very long per day (and the cabinets are in places where no sun hits anyway).
They are also all dressed up because having them stand around nude would prolly weird me out.
