1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you display your dolls?

Oct 2, 2011

    1. I've always place all my dolls around my computer, if not in their boxes. It's the place I spend most of my time and where I can see them everyday! :3

    2. I keep mine on a couch I made for them on my bookshelf. They're too lovely to be put away :3

    3. Mine stand on a desk in my craft room. There are blinds and curtains on the windows that keeps them out of direct sunlight. Sometimes when I want to see them more, I will stand one on my coffee table for a while.

    4. I am planning to build a "room" for them out of plywood and decorate it with wood flooring, wallpaper, furniture, the works and have them out, but out of direct sunshine when i can get around to it.. For now, sadly, they lay under a blanket in my sewing room.

    5. I have a recliner in my lounge room that they sit on. Too bad for any guests that might want somewhere to sit

    6. I have a four-level doll shelf...my tinies live there with their OT doll parents. :) Each shelf is decorated to look like a room (lounge, bedroom, living room, etc).

    7. I have only one doll so far and he has seen a lot since he came to me, because I like to show him off and have him with me. He was on a few manga conventions already and other japan related events. Now I let him sew a kimono for the japan festival in july in munich. We have an organized display of dolls there. So he is properly dressed.
I own a MSD and he has the right size to go in my handbag where ever I go. Thats so great.

    8. mine sit... all over the place xD; my first doll is almost always sitting to my left (I know, favoritism is bad okay... >.< ) as does my tiny as of lately. The WIP floating heads I'm faceuping also roam around the desk. My SD17 boy is always by my bedside when I'm not cuddling him, often joined by my other MSD who likes my leather, couch-shaped jewelry box. Of course, my room is about to undergo a huge renovation in the coming month so they'll hopefully get a proper place to stay at when I'm not playing with them.

    9. Where ever there is space.

I have one on the nightstand, four on the bed, 7 or 8 on the dresser and the rest are split between the spare room and my desk.

    10. I currently keep my doll in a little roombox made for her. Furnishing it is fun, and it keeps her out of direct sunlight and away from cats!
Once I get more I'm thinking of setting up a bookshelf with a shelf for each size. (Not planning to get any SD-size, so hopefully it'll be big enough for minis and tinies!) I really like giving them a little environment to live in. Luckily, my roommate is already used to my shenangians, to the point of wanting a doll herself... ;)

    11. I display my dolls all over the house. The resin I keep in my bedroom with the drapes close and blinds closed. When I want to take pics of them, they had over to the living room. I also have lighter drapes closed. I enjoy seeing them all around.

      Bren =0)

    12. I'm still working on a solution to this. My room isn't very large but it has a large window. While I keep my blinds drawn, things around the window, books and perfume mainly, get bleached out by the sun. My doll is my first and only doll, I just got him last month and he's quite large. I don't have anything for him to sit on either. So I keep him in his box. I would like to invest in a nice curios cabinet that I could display him in that would shield the sun but also allow him to be displayed. I spent so much money on him, I want to display him but I don't want him to turn yellow either.

    13. Most of my off-topic dolls are sitting around on bookshelves and window ledges in my room.

My room is fairly sunny, so my resin MSD boy stays wrapped up in his cushion most of the day.

    14. Well, I don't like sunlight as I get a rather nasty looking rash from it(TMI! Woohoo!), so my shades are always down in my room. In addition to that, my room is in the nice, cool basement--I HATE heat of any source--so my resin friends don't need extra protection from harmful elements. My room isn't a dreary vampire hideout, contrary to how it sounds. Oh, and I don't worry about artificial light, as I think it only contributes to yellowing if it gives off heat. They sit out in the open on my desk next to my bed, and I like to touch my things(Pretty! *Grabby hands*) so I make sure they're close to me. I'd rather it look like I actively enjoy my collection instead of just displaying them. With my other collections, I'm content with the latter.

    15. My boy sits in a blue dish chair that no one ever sits in, and my girl that I'm getting for my birthday is just going right next to him or in his lap~

    16. I found an ornate 7 foot wide china cabinet in a thrift store. Bought it. NOW I am shuffling all my furniture [it seems anyway] so it will fit in my living room. It is too big to ever go anywhere else. Hah! Would not make any turns through hallways since it can't bend. >^.^<

I think I am going to paint it white and something different for the inside as a backdrop. It will be the new home of many of them, safely in the darkest room in my house. Right now many of them are in my bedroom on a deep, large shelving unit. I have a quilt over the window to keep it dark and sun off of them. That darkening also helps with my sleeping since I have somewhat vampire habits when it comes to sleep. [My eyes also appreciate the extra dark].

Hoping this will help me get them and their things better organized than they are now and let me really show them off/enjoy viewing them.

    17. My PKF lives in a little white bird cage on my sofa/bed so I can always see her :)

    18. There are a lot of great ideas for display/storage here. However, I'm getting a tanned doll. Would he yellow the same say a paler doll would?

    19. My girl sits on my shelf in a nook of my room that's out of the way of sunlight, I have two lots of cuortains, a heavy lot and a thin pair, the thin pair is always closed, mostly because I have a light sensitivity but it also means that we don't get a shit ton of sunlight, none of which is direct. She's not yellowed an ounce, you can always just make your baby smething to shade them, a little umberella of something to keep the light of them a little more x

    20. =w= They're displayed in my closet. In their box. Hahaha, I'd display them If I could but they're a secret. A secret thats KILLING me but I'm way too attached to them to risk their demise *w*
