1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Do You Display Your Dolls?

Sep 23, 2017

    1. Sorry can’t get the photo to show!

    2. I have the ikea all glass curio cabinet for most of my collection. I'm making my pukipuki a roombox out of a lantern. I only have 4 dolls right now including the pukipuki now.

    3. I want them out where I can enjoy them at all times, so they are spread around my small home in displays that act as fine art. If I have an empty space, instead of hanging a picture there, I’ll create some sort of display made from just about anything I can find (a shelf, an old trunk, the top of a dresser, the top of my roll top desk, an old re-purposed TV cabinet, etc...whatever works!) There I’ll set up furniture or accessories to suit their characters, in elaborate little personalized vignettes. That way it seems like they’re all living their own lives independently, but within my space where they can be enjoyed by myself and everyone in my family. Here’s one example in front of a protected window...way more fun than ordinary draperies if you ask me.;)

    4. amaxing @PoeticSoul and @Leo Pheonix - I cant wait to get my first doll and set up her surroundings. I will definitely keep mine somewhere I can see (but away from the cats somehow)

    5. This is so tidy!! Sadly I do not have a place like this to store my dolls, so my room is rather messy. Hope I can have a room for my dolls someday lol

    6. I have a closet in my craft room that has become a dedicated doll closet. I have a shelf tall enough for my 60cm dolls to stand, and my other shelves are for storage of my doll props, accessories, and crafting supplies.

    7. For now I have a shelf on my bookcase just for my girl (who stays in her carrycase) and her suitcase of clothing/shoes/ accesories, need to make a bit more space next year when my YoSd arrives though.

    8. I actually have a large doll bunk bed where I keep them! For now they fit until I get more.

    9. I collect all sizes, but I'm struggling to display them :( right now I'm using two separate display shelves, but I'm not really sure how I can display them all together without my tinies getting drowned out by my bigger dolls. Any advice or help would be nice and appreciated

    10. Right now I only have one doll to worry about, so he got a spot amongst my very sparse collection of bear plushes. He's far too tall to stand up on the shelf they have so he has been tucked in amongst them. As soon as I get a 2nd doll I'll need to rethink this strategy cause I can't fit another SD in uh oh

    11. Does anyone use ladder shelves? I've been considering it for a while, because my collection has grown a little? ;)

    12. He's in a box placed under my loft bed right now, but I'm planing buy a shelf to store my stuff soon so he might move there in the future.

    13. My Crew is scattered all throughout my home in places where I can see them when I walk into that room.

Some are on my wardrobe in the cats' bedroom second bedroom, some on a bench and a table in the main bedroom, and currently, Twyla, my EID and Orrell, her Dream of Doll Teen boyfriend are sitting on a chair against the kitchen wall.

I'm about to put another BJD on layaway, and I'm trying to puzzle out where I'm going to put her. She's going to be a DC Nicola-A angel, and I'm lost as to where she can go and show off her wings! :sweat

    14. My dolls are usualy in wardrobe for all my doll things and supplies. I'm afraid they could get damaged otherwise and I'm not the kind of person who likes to display things in general. Not just dolls. But they aren't always hidden or not all of them. They are sometimes sitting on my desk when I work, or on stack of books beside by bed. Or in my bed, on the side to wall -- the bed it really large, so they are safe here.

    15. Mine are just chilling on my desk for now, and honestly I worry for when I run out of space there. >_>;

    16. I have an entire room I dedicated to them a few years back as the previous room (also my bedroom which they kindly kicked me out of for a while) got too small for all of them along with all their things and my crafting bits and bobs. I've never kept them in cabinets, never worried about dust as you can always have a day where you clean them from top to toe, it's just dust? I have done what I could to keep them away from sunlight as the only thing that's on my list of worries around them really. They simply sit on shelves all lined up, would love being able to have them standing and sitting on furniture in little room box like arrangements, but then I'd need a room trice as big as the current one xD

    17. Mine are currently sitting or standing on the daybed in my workshop. I’m still working on them so I need them handy. I have UV impact glass, so light isn’t an issue.

    18. I display mine on shelves, my dressing table and in baskets....wherever they fit within the parameters of my side of our bedroom! For that reason I am limited to keeping less than 10 dolls. I don't keep mine behind glass but because they are in my north facing bedroom they stay out of sunlight and out of harms way. My bedroom is my haven and I do like it that way.

    19. :doh I completely forgot about The Headbasket! Its where I keep all my floating heads. They sit in it on my manga bookshelf.
