It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you fall in Love?

Dec 13, 2008

    1. Sometimes it says poof and it's love at first sight (kinda like with sdf howl <3)
Some other times I can see a picture and think "oh that's a pretty face" and so on, and the more pictures I see the more I fall in love :3

    2. Eh...Love at first sight for me?
I have 2 with me right now ...The first one I paid for was HZDoll Huika,I was deciding whether should I get him or Fei that time but his devilish look won my heart :D
During the waiting period..I got to know RingDoll..Then Pan was the one which managed to win my heart with one shot <3
So I bought him too...Never did I guess that Pan arrived real fast.He arrived a week after I placed order from the official site.

    3. Hahhh great topic. Some dolls like Ciel from Angelheim(going to be mine soon) and Fei from Dollzone I knew right away that I have to have them eventually. But Sky from B&G had to grow on me because it seemed like he was everywhere but now I don't care!:aheartbea

    4. I just feel special - my heart beats weird all of a sudden - i like every detail ! there is absolutely no default what so ever in the doll - if a model really pleases me, I will be in awe like ! The way the whole thing is put together is like a celestial vision. lol like Soom Sabik totally charmed me the first second I saw him ! and Volks Charlotte totally sent up to the 7th cloud ! it's just perfection incarnated as dolls. Flawless expressions of art.

    5. How I fall in love with my Diamea?
It's simple - she looks so similar to my idea of beauty^^
and she fit to the stylisation from my fav Ages^^

    6. It's basically always instantaneous, because I know very strongly what I do and don't like ... however, sometimes company pics are misleading, so I make sure to go check for owner pics too ^_^

    7. How exactly do you fall in love with a particular sculpt? Do you just see them and think: YES!

at first its like an orgasm when you see the many dolls and tons of sites they have for them you
go crazii and cant decide on wich you want! D:::
      Or does it take awhile?
after a while of searching i can decide wich ones i like and pick out of those OwO'
(like the circle thing you were talking about xD)

Do you need to see a ton of pictures first? Do you change your mind alot? Or do just need to see him/her/it in person?
yeah, after deciding on one and seeing more pictures of the different dolls i like and compare them i can decide on one,
sometimes i change my mind about wich one i want, but after searching through so many sites
the sculpt that i couldnt compare to any because its soo awesome *.* was the glorydoll head.
i just saw it and i knew it was the one, i just love the sculpt (>^.^)>

    8. ohhh man, I was searching and searching for the longest time! switching from different molds that I liked a lot.. but when I saw the dollie I'm soon to be ordering. BAM! I just knew he was the one. It was soo~ crazy XD but I was really happy. :D This will be my first BJD also. So I knew I had to find one that made me have that kind of reaction. And he did it. He did it verrry well... ^////^

    9. I'm so indecisive and change my mind so often, I usually have to go search and look at many pictures before I can even settle on a few things! There have been two so far that when I saw them I instantly thought "yes, please". XD Just because of the unique look and appeal to my eyes. Otherwise, it takes a while but I think that makes it worth it. XD

    10. Hm. There is a difference between impulsively loving and wanting a doll to purchasing it.

There have been many dolls I have felt a strong urge to purchase but I usually contemplate the pros and cons over the span of several days. There are several questions I ask myself before making a purchase:
      1) How badly do I want it?
      2) What justifies this purchase?
      3) Is the price right?
      4) Do I have space for it?
      5) How often do I plan to interact with it?
It also needs to suit my aesthetic tastes or be suitible for modification experiments.

      That's it in a nutshell. n_n;''

    11. When i search for my BJD I search and search and found a Lydia from elfdoll i dream her, i wish her, later I save much money in this "pause time" i see one billon of photos with her, I check webpage daily XD and finally comming judgement day XD she arrive more pretty and fantastic that photos really amazing.

    12. I know I've fallen for a doll when I look at them and I'm just rendered speechless by how perfect they look. I can be kind of indesisve though where I develop a "crush" on a doll where one day I think they're the best sculpt in the world and then the next I'll wonder why I ever liked the doll in the first place. Usually looking at lots of pics of the doll by other user helps me decide whether I truly like the doll or not.

    13. I fell in love with Soulkid Apple gradually; she wasn't my first choice, or even my second or third, but she had more sticking power than my first choice. After seeing photos of her by her different owners, I realized that she had a personality range that really appealed to me. She's not the flashiest doll around, but there's something very satisfying and human about her face. I have to admit, I am very attracted to flashy dolls, to theme dolls and special editions, but I think in the long run they wouldn't be versatile enough for me. So I will admire their photos and be happy for the people who own them!

    14. It was very immediate for me. Once I saw her, all the other dolls just weren't as beautiful as her.

    15. Good question - there's a lot of complexities to consider when answering, but at base level if a doll has pink lipstick I'm sunk (it's true).

When I finally get my BJD, I'm hoping to get a face up for her that involves pink lips and blushy blushy pink cheeks :)

    16. It all boils down to one simple, beautiful word: Teeth. Oh, so gorgeous.

    17. I have had very different experiences. I felt the immediate "love at first sight" when I saw the pictures of my Gabriel (AS-Leira) on Angell-studio's website and knew that I had to have her.

However, it has been slightly different with the newest object of me affections. When I first saw the Tan DZ-Mo 3 mold my initial reaction was something along the lines of "he looks weird!" But after a while I began a search for a MSD sized doll with tan skin and a more mature-looking face; I then realized that what I desired was an EXACT description of Mo :0
So I went back to the Doll-zone website and realized that I actually really like the sculpt; Now I'm saving up to buy him :)

    18. At first looking at bjds was just an enjoyable thing to do, from an artistic point of view I could just really appreciate the love some people put into their dolls and since I have always been into rping I got hooked on a few photostories over the years.

It was only when I started looking through store websites that I actually started to consider the prices involved and maybe if I could afford it which one would i get? It was a couple of years ago when I first saw the Dollkot Kiss boy and I just knew! I had been toying with the idea of what type of 'personality' I'd bestow on my own doll and Kiss was just too perfect!

Unfortunately I'm still nowhere near obtaining the doll, and I see now at the store they are just down to selling normal skin/slightly tan versions, whereas I was always interested in the pale/albino types. If they stop selling it altogether over the few years I know my only chance will be to try and get one second hand, but that idea really worries me! :(

    19. How exactly do you fall in love with a particular sculpt? Do you just see them and think: YES!
Sometimes I do. Sometimes not. I love the aspect of dolls and things with joints (I was fascinated with marionettes as a child) and so I just love dolls in general. It's my weird obsession, so even though I might hate a doll on the internet, if i see it in real life I'll just go crazy over it anyway XD
A lot of times though it's that first pic that just makes you fall in love, but I've learned that it's almost always the faceup or picture-taking abilities that skew my perception, sadly :P
      Or does it take awhile?
      Woops! see above, I guess ^^;;
Do you need to see a ton of pictures first? Do you change your mind alot? Or do just need to see him/her/it in person?
I don't 'have' to see a bunch of pictures, I love all dolls, really and I'd love any really XD Even some of those super weird molds I'm convinced I kinda hate, I'd most likely just love to death if I got to make them my own hah. Seeing it in person I just love dolls, so I just want them after seeing them in person usually.

      BUT YES
I force myself to look at tons of pics now becuase dolls look soooooo different from one to the next. It's not even funny how much a doll can change from one photographer/faceup to the next XD

    20. How exactly do you fall in love with a particular sculpt? Do you just see them and think: YES! Or does it take awhile?

For me, it comes in two waves - first comes the YES-OH-MY-GOD-I-NEED-THAT-DOLL!!! part... Then I usually sleep on it, and if I still have that reaction the next day and the next, it's love. Basically if I can't talk myself out of buying the doll and if I find myself trying to rearrange my eating habits for the next three months to be able to afford layaway, then I know. LOL

Do you need to see a ton of pictures first? Do you change your mind alot? Or do just need to see him/her/it in person?

Nope, a picture will do it for me. In fact, all it takes is a certain angle sometimes.
