How do you feel about fantasy hair colors?

Apr 25, 2013

    1. At the moment, I'm in love with multi-colored Happy Camille wigs! Pink, yellow, blue... So My Little Pony like. :D I'm happy to have such different kinds of dolls so I can have both naturals and fantasy creatures.

    2. i've had quite a few "fantasy" hair colors myself, including blue, purple, pink, and grey, so i'm a little more drawn to the unnatural hair colors. i really love super interesting hair colors and styles, maybe even borderline odd.

    3. I prefer natural to fantasy colors but it really depends on the characters. Souji who is from Hakuoki switches between brown to white and I've been considering a Natural Harmonia doll and I certainly wouldn't switch his green hair for a more natural color. xD

    4. As for me, I prefer natural colours for my dolls' hair. But fantasy colours can be a great choice as well! My dolls are more like semi-real, but if a doll is a fantasy styled one, why not?

    5. I actually prefer more natural looking colors for the most part but I am also attracted to pastel colors and have considered maybe going that direction as well.

    6. I like every hair colour. Many of my dolls wear black or brown but I also have red, white, pink and blue.
I like many colour combinations with eyes and hair. ^^

    7. I prefer fantasy colors and I seek those out first. My dolls are split down the middle between natural and fantasy colors.

    8. I love fantasy hair colors but I never feel they fit my doll characters so I never give them a try. I've considered getting a wig grab bag so I could at least say I tried fantasy colors because, who knows, maybe I'll have a dolly character breakthrough

    9. Most of mine have natural colored wigs. I love the more realistic, older age sculpts, so natural colors are appropriate. Some dolls NEED a wild colored wig though. (Like a fairy or other mythological creature). In which case, I love the wild colored ombre wigs, like white to ice blue or pink graduation.

    10. Fantasy hair colors are as natural to me as natural hair colors, because of the crowds I mingle with. Dyeing one's hair is just part of my area's creative expression!
Most of the fantasy hair colors my dolls have are considered "dyed" hairstyles in my collection, with only one or two exceptions. They tend to have at least two wigs: one wig is their "natural" hair color, and the other is their "dyed" hair color.

EDIT: My teeny tinies, (the 16cms) have mostly fantasy-type hairstyles as their natural 'dos, because they aren't human characters; they're fairies/spirits that live in a cafe. :3 I also have a character who has brown hair naturally, but a magical mutation has his hair turning black and gray. Other than that... most everyone else has "dyed" locks. Heh!

    11. As of right now, I am a big fan of natural hair colours~ but I am hoping in the future I could buy some fantasy coloured wigs!!

    12. yeah same i dont see me getting technicolor type wigs ..i dont know ..i mean maybe if like its a "character" thing .

    13. I prefer fantasy colors but I have both. Most of my dolls are fantasy characters so it works. And I like to change their wigs all the time anyway, most of my dolls will jump around in wigs just for a change and sometimes based on their outfit at the time.

    14. I also have both, but I am not fond of wigs that have just one color.
So even the more natural ones have highlights or something like that (except for 2)

    15. I love colorful wigs, and it works out well because most of my dolls are fantasy roleplaying characters. My favorite wig is Aria's which is lavender, plum and blue. She's the only one I have not based on a character so I went really wild with her wig. When I first saw this wig I was looking for a blue wig for Carrigana and just fell in love with it. When I decided Aria didn't fit the character I got her for and decided not to make her a previous character, I knew what wig to get! She's become the fashonista of the group. :)

    16. I love them both! Right now I lean more toward natural colors (my dolls wigs are black, brown, and blonde, respectively) since my dolls are all human, but the blonde wig has some aweome rainbow streaks at the bottom. Since it's for a character who wears pastels and fairy kei style clothing, I think it will be perfect. I could definitely see her streaking her hair with pastels :) I may get her a regular blonde wig for when she wants to be less colorful though xD

I also think the pastel blue/aqua colors can look amazing on some dolls. It gives them a very sea creature or mermaid vibe.

    17. It really depends on the doll, for me. I tend toward white and platinum, which can absolutely be "fantasy," depending on the rest of the doll, but I have some stunning pink and blue wigs for mermaid times. It's all about the character.

(Disclaimer: I have sunset ombre hair. So I am pro-fantasy, as a whole.)

    18. I like fantasy hair colors, but it doesn't suit any of my characters. But some of my favorite dolls that belong to other people have fantasy colors.

    19. I like the natural, the colourful and the crazy when it comes to hair colours. If I like it, I'll probably use it.

    20. I really like the fantasy color wigs, it depends a little on what suits the doll too firstly but yeah can't say I take issue with bright colors! Love them :) I have natural colored wigs too though so it really depends on the doll.
