How do you feel about fantasy hair colors?

Apr 25, 2013

    1. I definitely prefer natural coloured hair on my dolls. I am very fussy with making colours match in outfits so having a fantasy hair colour on my doll would severely limit the clothes she could wear. That said, I do enjoy looking at other peoples dolls with fantasy hair colours, especially pink or blue ~

    2. Just really getting into the BJD's but love fantasy hair colors on my other dolls and just ordered a chartreuse green wig for my 62cm Wind I ordered last week from Miro Doll. I also got her a blonde wig so I really do like both. I love that you're not committed to one hair color or style with BJD's.

    3. I like both too. It depends on the character, fantasy colors are something that I relate with fashionable characters.

    4. I usually like to keep all of my OCs grounded in realism unless the universe has demons or whatever in it. Unless the design is really out there in some alternate universe, I'll never use fantasy colors as a natural hair color. It just feels wrong to me.

    5. Right now I've just got the two dolls, and the one who likes unusual wigs is off-topic, but I love fantasy-colored wigs. The next doll I plan on getting will have some unnatural colors in her wig wardrobe. I'm leaning towards baby pink and maybe a mint wig as well.

    6. Well, considering that my own hair is an "unnatural" red with blue in the front, I prefer unusual hair colors for the most part on my Crew. I DO have some dolls with more natural hair colors. Some of my dolls are based on my favorite anime characters, and some are OCs, but on my OCs, it has to be a color that fits them. If it works, then that's the color they get, no matter what color it may be.

    7. I like both. All of my dolls have theme colors. Sometimes that means their hair needs to match their outfit! I have tons of colored wigs. Here's my MNF Liria, Orchid. Her theme color is purple, so her wig is purple!

    8. My current dolls both have natural hair colors, but I am hoping to explore more fantasy colored hair colors in the future. I've seen so many beautiful dolls with pink or blue hair, as well as other colors. I also think it depends on the doll.

    9. I would have some on the side in case I want some change to my dolls, but it will definitely not be a permenant or 'in character' wig. I like natural hair styles better. The fantasy colored ones are too flamboyant for my tastes.

    10. They are wigs. Ergo, my dolls change hair ALL the time. A few only have the one wig (some of the older males especially) but good grief, people change their hair constantly (short, long, different styles, different colors....). Plus my gang is mainly cosplayers so I have a ton of specific fantasy wigs that ONLY go w/the one cosplay outfit....

    11. For me, it all depends on the doll and the vision I have for them. For example, one of the dolls I'm currently saving to buy is going to be shelling a character of mine. Said character has lavender hair, so I'm on the hunt for just the right wig! Basically if the style and color speaks to me, I'm buying it!

    12. I have a preference towards natural hair colours but I don't mind light, soft fantasy colours, like peachy pinks, pastel blues, whites/grays, etc. I'm not too fond of super bright hair colours primarily because they feel difficult to match with outfits...

    13. I think fantasy wigs can be *awesome* if done well. I don't know if I've purchased any though since I am buying only for those characters I want to enshell..and none of my characters are into fantasy colors. But I think they can look beautiful. Look at the wig Elesana wears (oh, she's gorgeous) in Sion's lovely photostory "Lleu's Creatures" (https://denofangels.com/threads/lle...iot-bazael-supia-eunice.707814/#post-11893230) Now that's a beautifully done fantasy wig, imho. Though the fact that it contains all my favorite colors MIGHT have something to do with it.

    14. I love fantasy hair colors! I myself have multi-colored, gradient hair so of course I'd like it on dolls too! My characters are about 50/50 with natural and fantasy hair colors, so my future dolls will most likely follow that pattern.

    15. I would love to have a multi-colored hair! xD
My current dolls are all pretty... I don't really know how to express it, namby-pamby? Well, they do not want to stand out much so they all have natural hair colors.
But my next character would probably have a much more flamboyant personality and will dress and have a hair according to it, maybe electric blue or something alike.

    16. I definitely find that fantasy hair color wigs draw my attention! I love looking at them... even if they mostly don't work for the dolls I currently have. For my boys I mostly prefer natural colors-- well... Pete's natural hair color is a fantasy color on most dolls, I guess. And then Billy's 'natural hair color' is red and Vince's is brown, but with Vince I like dressing him up in different wigs for fun, so he's got a blue one, he's worn one that's half hot pink...

    17. I used to have way more fantasy hair colors, but lately I've been mainly having natural hair colors as the primary wig for my dolls. My only fantasy hair colors are my dragon with blue hair and a WIP rainbow wig. And I guess Epifan's hair is primarily brown but her wig has colored streaks.

    18. I love fantasy colors but I think it is because I wish I had the guts to color my hair like that lol

    19. I love both, but the wigs I choose for each doll depend on their specific character. I'm quite the sucker for pastel wigs. <3

    20. I think I could definitely see myself buying pastel colored wigs
