How do you feel about fantasy hair colors?

Apr 25, 2013

    1. I really love pastel wigs. Although most of my girls have natural hair.

    2. For me, it all depends on the doll. Right now my only doll defiantly is a natural color gal but I have seen some amazing fun hair colored dolls that I love!

    3. It honestly comes down color palette. There are some colors that don't do well together EVER. But I'm not adverse to fantasy color wigs, I actually prefer them!

    4. I feel like it would depend on what my doll is wearing. If she's wearing modern clothes, then I prefer a natural hair color, but if she's wearing a crazy costume, then I could see a fantasy hair color totally working for that.

These days, I see a lot of kids with crazy hair colors, so it's not too weird to even pair up modern clothes with fantasy hair. XD

    5. You know, I never really put much thought into this! Now that I think about it, it seems like I prefer solely fantasy colored wigs. All the wigs I've looked into are very soft pastel shades, which ties into their general pastel color scheme. Maybe someday I'll design a character with more natural colors, haha.

    6. I prefer natural colors, but I really want to try fantasy ones as well.

    7. As someone who has watched way too much anime/played too many video games in her life, fantasy hair colors don't bother me and as someone else noted here, if it's right for the doll then I'll usually do it. Given how many people though in real life have teal or fantasy colored hair these days, I think it's really not that unusual.

    8. Most of my dolls are original characters that have specifics. Though I may be turning one of them into a different character with a fantasy colored wig (bright red!), he's just rocking a black bob for now.

    9. For some people they like to have characters for their bjds.... Some of those characters have very colorful looks, and some are normal but cute looks.
I personally prefer the normal looks because i dont want my doll to have to dress a certain way to match her hair & faceup style. With normal hair and faceup you can make any clothing style and it'd look super cute. But sometimes if you have this very colorful and fantasy type hair and faceup you kind of tend to dress them to fit that look...
Idk if that made any sense to you, it's kind of hard for me to put it in words...

    10. As a committed iplehouse collector it is really hard for me to go with the fantasy colors. For some reason I feel like they don't go well with the realistic sculpts. (I know.. I know... people actually dye their hair to fantasy colors these days and it looks awesome! #GuyTang.)

I have tried pink, lavender and blue and immediately switched them back to natural colored wigs. I think no matter how good quality the fantasy colored wig is it taking away from the realist and making my dolls kinda look like toys rather than art pieces.

    11. It all comes down to the character of the doll. What is far out on one doll may be a perfect fit for another. I like to be sensitive to my own ascetics and then be opened minded. When I try unusual things for my taste, the outcome often surprises & delights me. :3nodding:

    12. A lot of my characters are fantasy based, so I'm totally okay with crazy hair!
Not to mention Ive had a lot of crazy hair colors myself. ;P

    13. I've really wanted a doll with a colorful wig. I do have a boy with white hair, but I'm not sure it will be permanent. My doll's personalities have called for natural tones so far, but I'mm about to get a girl with pink hair. :3 So I think I love both. As long as it is long in length lol.

    14. I prefer fantasy hair colors for the most part. ^_^ I just love the different colors, it's so much fun! Another reason why I like fantasy colored wigs is that they kind of allow me to live vicariously through my dolls, as I could never pull off colors like lavender, blue, or pink!

    15. I can't imagine doing anything but realistic and natural style faceups and the wild dyes don't kind of match with them. I have had my "crazy color" age a couple years ago (had blue and pink hair) and I am still recovering from it.

    16. I have both. I tend to favor black hair for natural hair colors, but I have done a lot of fantasy colored wigs for my dolls. As of right now I have dolls with vibrant orange hair, cherry red hair, and my DZ girl rotates between having black, neon green, and wispy blue with lavender streaked hair.

    17. I like both fantasy and natural hair colors
I have a mixture of both for my dolls

    18. I like fantasy hair colors on fantasy dolls! I also like them when the character in question just dyed it that way.
I'm really no fan of that anime thing though where Japanese boys and girls suddenly have hair in all colors of the rainbow which is supposedly natural... well I still love many such characters either way so I guess it's something I can ultimately accept.

    19. I love both, I can not say which one I prefer because it depends a lot of the doll style

    20. I'm partial to the fantasy sort, mainly because I don't want to limit myself just to one specific group of colors when this hobby is all about the customization. Natural tones are nice to work with since they can look good on just about any doll, but so can the more unusual colors if you match them up right. :3nodding:
