How do you feel about fantasy hair colors?

Apr 25, 2013

    1. I love natural hair colours, but at the same time I can't help but think a mint or lavender (or both!) wig would really look good with the aesthetic I'm enjoying for Hyacinth. Also I live in a town where the average hair colour is blue so I want my girl to feel at home! XD

    2. My opinion on fantasy hair colors for my bjds? I gotta say: love it:D. All my OCs have pretty unusual colored hair, and that will be reflected in the their counterparts. Tahmos has a bold blue 'do, and Aqqen's is a green/brown/silver mix. I'll have purple haired ones, ones with long silver locks, red streaks and other varying shades of green or blue when I get going on the rest of my OC crew.

The ones with the natural colors are my fan-based characters, and Sadako my MSD. Otherwise I'm going to have a pretty colorful crew! :kitty2

    3. They're not really my type, but I love to see them on other dolls (*''▽'') I tend to prefer soft and pastel tones to really bright ones.

As of now, both of my girls have a similar dark brown/black hair color, so it's pretty far from it.

    4. I think I will prefer natural hair colors for my dolls, but I'd definitely buy some fantasy color wigs to play around with. Like Watabana, I prefer pastel colors over highly saturated ones. I love seeing all kinds of hair colors on other people's dolls :)

    5. I love fantasy colors in theory, and I think they look amazing when I see them, but my crew are all very natural and boring! We have a lot of nice rich red-browns around here. I'm hoping that my newest boy will help drag me into buying some crazy color wigs, though!

    6. Since I never really liked normal human colors on my characters when I draw them, I am totally okay with fantasy hair colors on my bjd. My elf doll currently has a gorgeous lavender wig and she looms wonderful<3 I myself have a fantasy hair color, red-purple haha

    7. I have a strong preference for fantasy colors. I know pastels are more popular, but I really like neon colors and I even plan to make a few tinsel foil wigs. I need even more fantasy in my dolls :o MOOOAAARRRR colors!!! :aeyepop:

    8. I think hair colour is down to what kind of character the doll will be! I love both natural hair colours and unnatural hair colours, my first doll is going to end up with a sugary pink wig just because it fits their colour theme and my second is black haired since he's based off my character :>

    9. I adore fantasy hair colours, especially in pastel tones. I guess that would just match my hair IRL as I have purple hair at the moment. I like them more than normal wig colours, I'm not sure why!

    10. I love all sorts of hair colours on dolls... but that is probably just because I myself have had my own hair dyed every colour under the sun and in various combinations. I have a feeling some of the dolls I will have will only "want" natural hair colours. (Or so it would seem from their created personality traits.)

I personally love seeing tri coloured fantasy hair on other dolls. I haven't found one I want for my dolls yet, but I think they are gorgeous.

    11. I prefere all my dolls to have different hair color. And I have both humans and fantasy creatures so I usually go with fantasy colour for my fantasy dolls. One doll I'm planning on making is a troll with grey/brown skinn and grass/moss green hair :)

    12. I'm kinda a wig fanatic, or used to be.
I like all hair colors. Not just because they're dolls. But because I've always been interested in fantasy har.
Heck, the last time I did my hair it was half black half purple. Haha.
For me it's just a matter of chacter. I have some with fantasy hair.
And others with natural hair. I like both and having as many options as possible. XD

    13. I really like both natural and fantasy, however I usually lean more towards the fantastical colors. I personally think that it is fun to see dolls with bright and colorful hair.
I do agree with what many people have said so far though on that it is dependent on the personality of the dolls. I may like as many bright and fun colors as I want, but if they need a natural colored wig then they deserve the natural colored wig.

    14. I adore pastel hair colors, which other than a light yellow or strawberry-blond are pretty fantasy-esk. It's weird, I'm not a big fan of the color pink but I have more pastel pink wigs than any other color. Maybe one day I'll venture into darker colors when I get more brave, but all of my doll faces are the sweet and innocent types at the moment and I'm afraid a too harsh of a color would ruin the look.

    15. I really enjoy the options available in both the fantasy and natural spectrum and my doll's primary wigs are split pretty evenly between the two. I agree with the majority in that it really depends on the doll's character.

    16. I think it really depends on the doll themselves, I don't really prefer one over the other in the big picture. Some characters just call for a natural color wig and some just scream purple or pink. Of course there's specific unnatural and natural shades I don't like, but that's really a different matter.

    17. I adore the fantasy hair colours! I have one doll planned for future purchase who will have a bright red mohair wig and another with pale pink! I love the natural colours too!

    18. I love them!!!! I just ordered the most BEAUTIFUL fantasy wig off ebay. It's long, has the crazy highlights, colourful. I also have lots of dolls that have normal hair too. :3

My first fantasy wig I ended up selling on ebay though. T__T I'm sure everyone here has seen the wig floating around. It's that typical fantasy cut, and it was a blonde, white, and pink mixture? To me in person, it looked awful. It's well made and all. I guess it just bothered me about the colour. Like, ever go to drink pepsi and it end up being sweet tea? Or like, sprite and the person accidentally gave you lemonade? That's how I felt.

    19. I love fantasy hair. Whenever I see dolls with bright pink or blue hair I love it. But mine mostly have normal hair like blonde and brown for some reason XD I hope to get a doll soon that can rock the fantasy hair! ^^

    20. I love fantasy colors too <3 Especially when they match my dolls eyes color. I've tried using natural colors but I always returned to fantasy colors. They fit unrealistic anime faces best in my opinion.
