How do you feel about fantasy hair colors?

Apr 25, 2013

    1. I also like and own both. One of my fantasy girls has a gorgeous custom made multicolored wig by Sweat Neat on Etsy. Another has black + blue hair. The rest of them wear natural colors at the moment. Fantasy wigs look great if they fit your doll's personality / overall look.

    2. I love fantasy wigs, but the problem is finding a good outfit to fit with the wig. :\

    3. Depends on if I have a character I made has a fantasy hair color. But most of the time I like natural hair colors.

    4. I love looking at dolls with fantasy hair colors! They are so very pretty.:aheartbea
I've tried going that way with my dolls but I found - despite adoring it with other people's dolls - that it isn't really for me. My most fantastic colored wig is white, which I don't really count as fantasy in this hobby. However, I wanna give it one last try and ordered a Licht wig in blonde/mint/pink. I'm very curious if I'll like it once it arrives or if it'll have to go.

    5. When I started bjd I didn't like the fantasy colors on the pictures that I could see, and I told myself that I never put them on mine dolls. And now after one year in this hobby, I love that and I have a collection of wigs fantasy, like wig premium of Leeke. Tastes change with times.

    6. I think it depends on the character. Most of my dolls have natural hair. (Tyler has brown, Issy has ginger/brown and Chi has blonde) but when I get my new MSD girls they will have coloured hair (Ava has purple, Nala has pink and grey and Bailey has pink)

    7. I have a lot of wigs... and a bad habit of buying flashy, colorful wigs, even though most of my dolls clothes are very modern/realistic and don't look good with the funky colors. I like natural colors for the ease of matching with clothes... but I really need to stop buying wigs so I guess I should work with what I have :sweat

    8. I love fantasy colored hair on people and dolls alike, but I think it depends on how you imagine the dolls personality, for some the wild unusual colors fit them perfectly, but for others the normal tones are more fitting. For the time being most of my dolls seem to just have natural colors! :)

    9. I kind of have an obsession with fantasy hair colours :) Most of my current dolls have fantasy coloured hair and that's the way I like it. There are very few dolls with natural hair colours that I like more than those with pink or blue. In fact I just ordered a new pink wig just yesterday!
I think I like the coloured hair more because my dolls tend to be an expression of what I love but wouldn't necessarily be able to do in real life. Plus pink is just so cute haha.

    10. I prefer natural colours c: just a matter of personal taste for me, though I think unnatural hair colours look nice too

    11. I'm assuming by "fantasy", you mean hair colours that humans don't grow naturally. As someone who's had a rainbow in her hair, "fantasy" doesn't really hold any meaning.

I don't have any fantasy coloured wigs yet, but there are definitely some in my future. I love brightly-coloured hair, especially neon streaks in black or brown hair because I love the way the colours stand out.
One of my favourite doll wigs ever is neon green and deep purple. I wish I could find one similar, but it's a one-of-a-kind made by the owner.

My Resinsoul Mei, Maple, will eventually have some crazy-coloured wigs, but I'm not sure when. She'll probably stick to black, red and purple, but there might be a rainbow streaked wig in her future ^^

I also plan to have Drow someday, since Resinsoul has dark grey resin, and Drow generally have white hair, and not because of age

    12. I like both but I like fantasy coloured ones a bit more.
I love how vibrant they can be. :3

    13. I love fantasy colors and couldn't see limiting myself to natural colors only. The hobby has so many fantasy elements to it that fantasy hair colors just seem to fit.

    14. I too love fantasy hair colours :D
I don't own a lot of dolls, but the ones I have do all have fantasy colours!
from lemon green to turqouise, blue to lavender, dark blue mix, sakura pink-
I love colour mix and gradients- they look so unique and cheerful!
whenever I look at them, it makes me happy :D

    15. I like both and have bought both. Sadly though, I can never get any of the fantasy colors to work on ANY of my dolls, no matter the size, sex, personality/character of doll or style of doll :( Most/all of the fantasy wigs get rehomed and I have learned that I will just have to admire other peoples dollies with fantasy colored hairs.

    16. i like both. it really depends on my character. i have girls with plain black or brown hair and others that have royal blue or baby pink. i also have some that mix, one of them has black and lilac hair and another has mint green and gray.

    17. Oh, i love those pastel colored wigs! My dolls are more realistic. So i won't probably have any of those. But colors are great, i personally love pastel blue (or less pastel) and that beautiful shade of soft dark gray...

    18. I want my first doll to have the same hairstyle, but different hair colours and I think they're all unnatural. I mean, if you count grey and white as unnatural, which I do because they're too young for it to be grey and too young/old for it to be white.
I'd also go for very pale shades of pink, blue, lilac and lavender. I really like pastels.
There's probably also something in the fact that I have really dark hair. I don't want to bleach it so I guess I can either die it blue-black or just leave it -_- but my doll can have any colour she wants :)

    19. I like both, though I prefer the fantasy colours to be more neutral or pastel, I guess? Ardese's hair is a strawberry ice cream-ish pink, but I don't think I would like a hot pink on my dolls. If it's going to be a darker colour, I'd much prefer more natural colours.

    20. I love fantasy hair colors wigs! I got natural color wig more than fantasy one, but I like to see them and sometime try to buy.
Today I also bought another fantasy hair wig on the Napidoll. I am so looking forward to receive new color wig! Pastel color wigs on cute girls really make my happy :)
