It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How Do You Feel About Your Collection Right Now?

Sep 12, 2018

    1. As much as I adore my doll collection, I really wish I was consistent in the brand and size that I like. I very much appreciate aesthetics, where all the dolls are the same height and from the same company. However, I like all kinds of things so that aesthetic is out the window Lol My resin kids are yoSD to SD and over 2-3 different companies.

    2. I'm feeling newly invigorated about my collection! I decided on a whim to clear out about half of my dolls/doll parts, and having those funds coming back to me is really giving me the motivation to refocus on the dolls I have and love, plus pick up one or two of my long-term wishlist dolls that I've been putting off for years in favor of impulse buying.

    3. Since I started collecting relatively young and am only in my senior year now, I have a hard time getting money. I only have one doll and he doesn't even have a full outfit or faceup! (I still love him though, he's my baby and I chatter to him all the time.) My collection is definitely smaller than I want it to be!!

    4. @Thespian that sounds like a fun place to be!

I currently am coming out of a rut. For the past year and a half collecting has been strained for several reasons and I was getting frustrated. My last post here, I was considering downsizing. (I never did.)
Now I have more space and and my living and financial situation is improved and I feel like I can start enjoying my dolls again.
I’m yearning to add more dolls to my collection for the first time in a very long time. I’m excited and hopeful to start enjoying the hobby more again. Now I just want Volks to release new dolls that I want!
I much prefer feeling a little impatient for new releases/re-releases/finding the right sculpt for my idea, etc. than dread over whether I should be keeping my dolls or staying in the hobby.

    5. I'm both pleased and displeased with my current collection. I'm so happy to have completed most of my MNF Hwayu's full set, seeing as she was my very first grail doll (I WILL get her shoes one day :evilplot:), and I finally found an outfit that I like on my DIM Flowne, who's been very hard for me to dress for some reason. I'm currently trying to get a body for my poor floating Shushu, who's aesthetic and outfit is fully planned out (and is being shipped right now! Very exciting!) and I'm waiting on a couple of lovely dolls to ship (Ringdoll Yumeo, who will be my first full set ever, and MYOU Delia, who I'm going to turn into a cute student). I'm happy things are working out on that end.

On the other end, there's two of my dolls who I just can't bond with no matter what I do and it is beyond frustrating to me. One is a tan MNF Vampire Maya, who's face is so lovely it could be criminal but everything I do for her isn't working out and my wallet is crying. The other's an Angell-Studio Amy, who doesn't have a face and also doesn't want to conform to any aesthetic whatsoever...

    6. Im at odds with my collection. After getting what I thought were my grails, ive decided to sell them off and am staying with my model spares and hard modded dolls that are fantasy types and illuminated. I have not seen anything i really needed to have for sale, nothing that cant be supplemented with another doll brand or digitally printed for far less then bought. I may split with half my collection and am selling resins and vinyls i just dont care about anymore.

    7. I think I’m good with the number of dolls I have now (5, waiting on my 6th), so I’m focusing more on their customization. Some of them still have “meh” default company eyes, some have cheap-looking outfits, cheap wigs, etc. I want to update them with nicer quality things.

I’m just waiting on a bunch of clothes, wigs, and accessories right now. x.x It’s been a 4 month wait with one online store...

    8. I'm content with the amount of dolls I have right now (2), but I am admiring a few of Luts dolls. However, I'm going to hold off on buying anymore dolls for a while because I want to focus on learning doll related crafts (wigs, clothes, etc.). One of my dolls doesn't even have a proper outfit yet so I'm going to try working on that!

    9. I feel really satisfied with the way my collection is at the moment! I have three off-topic Smart Doll girls and a Volks Yo-Tenshi Yuki, and they all look really cute together. Other than my very unlikely/rare grails, there are no other dolls that I'm pining after at the moment, and I'm super content to collect and sew clothing and accessories for my doll family as it is. :aheartbea

    10. I feel pretty good right now. While it still feels a bit too large (and I do have more dolls on the way), I feel like there is a great sense of what I enjoy and I’m much more cohesive when I buy. I’d like to keep refining my collection to my taste and reducing whenever possible.

    11. Right now? I love most of them, though I'm fixing up a couple. I'm more unhappy that I can't obtain the sculpts I need for characters.
I continue to try to complete my characters otherwise which is nice, but hunting is hard for that too.
Unfortunately I have stragglers I'm unsure of what to do with too

    12. I recently returned from a long hiatus and am definitely conflicted about my collection. There's a couple dolls I would love to buy, but my current dolls take priority. For the most part they all need updated faceups and a bigger wardrobe, but my floating head still needs a body and is now old enough that a new one from the same company may not match perfectly. On top of that my Unoa rejects every character I throw at them.

With that said, it's so nice to have them all out of box and in progress again! I had forgotten how much I love this hobby. :)

    13. I only have two dolls at the moment but I would love to have two more. So as of right now I am just getting them clothes but keeping an eye out for things for my two future dolls. Don't know how its all going to work out but I would like to have things like props and more furniture before I even acquire them. Once I have four dolls I think that will make my small collection complete.

    14. I answered this thread at the beginning of 2019-- I was super happy with my dolls and relieved to be mostly done with buying. Now halfway thru 2021 I've added the two bodies I needed for my floating heads, everybody finally has all their parts, and I'm still super happy with my dolls but I think the main feeling I have about my collection right now is impatience...because half of them are looking absolutely awesome but the other six are just so close to being done, but...not QUITE. I am impatient to finish up the last few wigs and outfits and mods...each doll in the not-finished group only needs one or two last bits of customizing. It's taken me almost 8 years to collect this group and I can't wait to finally see them all looking the way I envisioned when I first added them to my doll wishlist!

    15. "Complete," they're saying!

I don't know how many times I've read about someone saying that. Unless you stop looking at BJDs altogether, stop reading DOA, and don't look at BJDs on any social media, you will inevitably see another "must have" doll. :3nodding: And, its all good.

@Peanut, if you manage to resist the pull, then you are a stronger person than I! When I joined this hobby, I originally wanted three. Last week, I just put my 27th on layaway, and that's not even counting the six floating heads I have that still need bodies.

About My Crew, for now, I seem to be going away from humans atm. But, I'm sure I'll see some I'll fall in love with. Its inevitable. *shrug* ;)

    16. I try to ask myself regularly to find out how I want to develop my collection. It's hard not to fall for it when you see a beautiful doll coming out. But I try to set myself a guideline which ultimately brings me more by creating a coherent whole (2 in fact, I could not choose)

    17. @Ryuichi Sakuma 13 I honestly don't know what I'd do with a 5th doll. The ones I have now and the ones I want are all planned out as OCs of mine. I don't think I would bond well with a 5th doll, but with that being said who knows, you may be right. If I do get additional dolls, it would be for the purpose of being the adult versions of the dolls I currently have.

Oh my gosh, that is a lot of dolls. I wish I could see all your dolls, that is a big collection! May I ask where you have them stored or displayed?

    18. I have downsized my collection by selling 2 of the 3 full dolls I had. I have 2 floating heads and a full Minifee but will be getting another body as part of a split soon. I have a few dolls I want on my wishlist but I really don’t want more than 5 because it feels too overwhelming. I probably will be getting a Harucasting in his next preorder and potentially a Lillycat and I think I would be content but who knows.

    19. I’m not sure. I’ve shifted characters around for what feels like the millionth time, and I think I have dolls working for their characters, the hard part now is “did I want these characters?”

at this point, my wishlist is a lot shorter, and a lot of it is bodies for dolls I already have (or have part of!) I know I need to sell something, because I need something in my PayPal to a) finish a layaway, and b) almost-complete a group of dolls I’ve been trying to shell. Some of my incomings are orders from more than a year ago, and I dont know if the hype for them has died, I guess I’ll find out. And I have to dye so many bodies to get those dolls completed… it’s a little overwhelming, in all Honesty.

    20. I think I should make it a little bit...smaller )
Buy bodies for some hads. Make makeup fore some, and blush for others. Sell some dolls I don't play. And fix the quantity at last, cause I am out of place now (
