How do you pronounce "Leeke" and other company/sculpt names?

So glad to see I'm definitely not the only one who has trouble pronouncing these things

Luts - Exactly how it looks, like rhyming with guts
Bobobie- Bob - obe - ee
Lishe - Leesh
Iplehouse - Like nipple
Bambicrony - Bambi - crow - knee
Leekeworld - Leek world
Yder - Yi - der
Ducan - Doo - can
Migidoll - Midge - ee - doll
Crobidoll - Crow - bee - doll
Feeple - Like people
Narin - Nah - rin
Narae - Nah - ray
Soom - Like room

I also always pronounced 'puki' like pukey, until I heard people discussing how to say it & now I say it like 'pooki'

 

This is almost identical to the way I say them all. Except for these:
Leekeworld = Leaky-World (like, a world full of leaky sinks or something!)
Minifee = Minie Fee (as in, tiny fees)

That's all. Otherwise, we're on the same page!

Added: I also say "Puki" as poo-key. Sounds cute and I hope it's right!

 

Mmm.. interesting thread. After reading through some of the posts, it's got me thinking of how I pronounce the names of companies and dolls. So here's my list

Soom - ... sounds like Doom, but with an S instead of a D lol.
Luts - sounds like nuts, but with an L instead of the N.
Iplehouse - Ip-ill-house (or alternatively, iple rhymes with nipple XD)
Yder - Eye-der
Kirill - Key-ro
Cian - See-an


Here's a question, don't know if it was answered or not already since I didn't read through every single post... but how the heck do you pronounce SABIK?

I say 'sigh-beck', which I'm pretty sure is wrong because I actually misread his name when I first found him on the Soom website (unfortunately the 'sigh-beck' ended up getting stuck in my head even though I know it's wrong)

 

I say luts like

L-uh-ts

like butts or guts or futs or duts or nuts(XD)

 

I've always said/thought Sabik was like "Sah-bihk" so that the 'a' is like 'ahh' (like when the doctor tells you to open your mouth and say 'ahh' XD) and the 'i' is short, like the 'i' in the word "if."

 

I always said luts like "buts"

and for some reason i've always said eeeeeplehouse. XD

 

That sounds an awful lot better than how my sister pronounces Sabik. She says it like: sa-beak (yes... beak, like a bird's beak o__O )

I'm glad to find I've been pronouncing a lot of these wrong and still have a chance before they become completely engrained. And I thought Homme was just pronounced like the french word for man(which is homme): ome, like home without the h and with a french accent.

 

Lol, here I come with my amazing Swedish/Finnish skills Because my mind tend to use different pronounciations depending if I think in Swedish or Finnish, I will write all of them.

Luts: Loots or how you pronounce it if it was Swedish, which is a bit different. I use both ways.
Iplehouse: (n)ipple-house or ee-ple-house
Crobidoll: cro-bee-doll.
Soom: like zoom with an S
Leekeworld: lee-key-world or lee-keh-world
Lishe: leesh or lish-eh
Unoa: u-noh-ah
Narae: nara-eh
Narin: nah-rin
LaTi: as La and Ti in singing the musical scales from C
Bobobie: Boh-Boh-Bee
Bambicrony - Bam-bee-crow-knee
Homme: Like hem but an "o" (as in "lost") instead of "e"
Migidoll: Mee-gee-doll
Feeple: fee-pull or fipple

I pronounce most names I don't know how to pronounce in Swedish or Finnish. xD;; i think i mostly use Finnish but i'm not sure.

 

I've always just said Lishe like I see it spelled; Li-shee, but after looking at it closely I think it might be Lishe like in Fish. I think I'll try to start saying that instead.

I always said Lishe like Lish (rhymes with fish)... but ive heard it Lee-shay and Lee-shee and Lish-ee...
ugh... i dont worry about saying them wrong though... cause as weve seen... alot of people cant pronounce this stuff... all that matters is that you knwo what the other person is saying. lol

I say Luts like Luh-uts. And Ipplehouse is like EYEpplehouse for me too. And Soom...well I think of it as like zoom with an S. I don't know. What about Volks? That one seems to be self explantatory, but if it's a Japanese company, then how do they pronounce the l? The Japanese language has no L in it, so that means either it sounds kind of funny or they pronounce it with the "ru" instead of "L". So could it really be something like...Voruks? Haha idk

 

Haha a lot of these names, brands and sculpts, for me are like murder. I'm the worst at pronouncing names from foreign languages (foreign to me lol) It's hard cuz sounding them out is usually saying them wrong lol. I'm glad I'm addicted to Dream of Dolls. lol.

For me:

Luts- nuts with an L (even though I know it's wrong, that's just how it comes out)
Iplehouse- eee pull house
Soom- doom with an s
Cian- cyan (sigh ann) like the color.
Lishe- leash or sometimes I say Lish
Bobobie- bow bow bee
Crobidoll- crow bee doll
Yder- ee-dare or yih-dare (I say it both ways)
Unoa- ooh no uh
Migidoll- midgey doll
Homme- ha mee or ah may (I alternate...) but thinking about it, "ohm" sounds right....
Ducan- doo kin
Leekeworld- leak world or leaky world? lol
Latidoll- lah tee doll
Feeple- fee pul
Petsha- pet shah
Twingkey- twinkie
Puki- poo key
Bambicrony- bam bee crow knee
