1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you pronounce "Leeke" and other company/sculpt names?

Jan 28, 2007

    1. I've been told by those with a Korean background that the proper pronounciation of Luts rhymes with "Loots" not "Nuts." It's been hard to break myself of that, though. :sweat

    2. Ditto on the Luts pronunciation. I pronounce Soom like soon with an m instead of an n. :)

    3. Yeah, we call it Yah-dur...But I hear most people pronounce it Yee-dur or Ee-dur from who I've talked to...

And it's weird, 'cause in my head I pronounce Luts Loots, but when I say it it rhymes with nuts. I dunno, kinda weird.

      And the rest:
      Iplehouse is Eyeplehouse
      Soom rhymes with doom
      LaTidoll is Law-tee doll

    4. I quite surprised one of our local doll people of Korean extraction by saying "Loots"; she said that was right.:o And they certainly have a lot of wonderful 'loot' at that shop.

    5. Woah, I forgot I made this thread lol. @_@
So glad I've been saying it the right way and not making a fool out of myself.. although I try to avoid saying names at all! :D

Thanks for the feedback guys, things like this are always interesting. :)

    6. I have mindsets of what the names sound like, but it's weird to actually say them.
I say Luts as 'loots', Iplehouse as 'eye-pull-house' and leekeworld as 'leak-world'. I'm probably wrong on most of them. >>

I could be pronouncing migidoll wrong too (Mee-gee-doll?). And crobidoll...
I like the companies with straight forward names, haha.

    7. That's how I pronounce them too.

      As for Yder...
Yder for me is like why-der like separating the Y from the der :? at least that's how I say it lol

and Bobobie for me is bo bo bee

    8. Here's how I say some but I'm guessing that there different ways to say all of them? ^_^u

Luts - Like Nuts without the N
Iplehouse - I used to say it like how you said 'Nipple' but then I thought, "oh, is it eye-pull-house?" so yeah.
Yder - I say it liked Wider
Soom - Like zoom (or doom...)

    9. Luts - Rhymes with Nuts
      Iplehouse - Eye-pull-house
Yder - the "why" sound as in Yiddish, except Yid...der.
      Soom - Like soom
Bobobie - Bo bo bee, but sometimes I end up singing that Bo Bo Bo Bo bo bo theme song? I dunno. I hated the show, so I never watched it.

    10. In Korean, LUTS is pronounced Ruh-chu, with the typical Asian no distinction between "L" and "R." xD

    11. Yeah... I have to admit that when I really think hard about it, I do this too with Luts Yder. And I know, logically and phonetically speaking, that it is wrong! *_* Still, I do it.
I also pronounce Luts like nuts with an "L"
Iplehouse is Eyeplehous to me too.
I'm wondering about Crobidoll - do people say "Cro-bye-doll", "Cro-bee-doll" or "Cro-bih-doll"?? (just curious...)
      -V

    12. I pronounce it like it rhymes with "nuts". But now I'm curious as to how would you pronounce Cian? Is it "Sy-an", "Ki-an", or "Si-an"?

    13. I pronounce it Cro-bee-doll

    14. I've been pronouncing it Luh-tz...or like Nuts with an L.

As far as Ipplehouse goes I say it like Nipple haha :)

    15. I've always thought of it as 'Cro-bee-doll'. 'Cro-bye-doll' seems too hard to say, to me. *_*

    16. I just say "Luts" like "Nuts" xD
I really want to know how to pronounce. "Lishe."
and since I have a Cian, that as well.

My friend and I call Yder 'Ieyh-Daree' basically. With a bit of accent. xD

    17. I'd say Cian as 'See-an', and Lishe as 'Leesh'. >_> It was my first thought upon seeting the name so it's stuck ever since. :sweat
Yder with me is just 'ee-dur', like someone saying 'either' with a cold.

    18. Lishe for me is like saying leash
as for Cian I say see-ahn

      xD

    19. Pelican xD you beat me to it!

    20. That's because I'm amazing! :'D Jk.

I think we say See-an right away because of the feeling of C and I saying 'see'? >_> I dunno.
