1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you pronounce "Leeke" and other company/sculpt names?

Jan 28, 2007

    1. I've always said Luts like nuts..XD and Lishe like 'Leeshay' X_x; lol
      Iplehouse has always been Eyeplehouse for me.

      I'm curious of how people pronounce Unoa. I wonder if I've been doing it wrong this whole time. XD I've always pronounced it 'Oohnoah' o_o

    2. I always try to say Luts like Loots, but I always end up saying Luh-tz instead.

      Soom to me has always been Soom like doom, LaTidoll has always been Lah-Ti-Doll, Migidoll to me is Midgi-doll (said like Midget with less emphasis on the "d") and Ipplehouse like Eyepplehouse. I never even tried to say Yder or Lishe or Cian, and I'm certain I'd slaughter it anyways, XD.

      I have a hard time pronouncing my boys' sculpts, too. I don't know whether to call my Aida like Eye-duh or Eye-eh-duh ) as I know a few people named Aida and one says it one way, the other two say it the other way. I always pronounce my Ryu's name as either Roo or RE-oo

    3. I thought it was like how its spelled...SOOM, rhymes with zoom.

      Ryuichi

    4. I pronounce it like that too!

      and Migidoll for me is Mee-gee-doll

    5. Lishe for me is = L-ish

      O.o

    6. :sweat

      Maybe I should have said Lutz, which is what I REALLY meant! :doh

      Ryuichi

    7. XD I'm glad I'm not the only one!

    8. I say YEE-der

      ugh, I'm lost...*_*

      Ryuichi

    9. ipplehouse should be pronounced as eeple, rhyming with nipple.
      iple actually means a leaf in Korean.

    10. I thought it was Si-an...

      Ryuichi

    11. Wow I love this. For me it's

      Luts= Nuts with an L
      Iplehouse= Eye-pull-house
      Soom= Soon with an m
      Yder= Y-ai-der or Wider with a Y
      Migidoll= Mi-gee-doll
      Bobobie= Bo-bob-ie
      Crobidoll= Crow-bee-doll
      Unoa= U-no-ah

      As for names of the actual dolls I get them soooo messed up. :lol:

    12. I always saw it as Crow BEE doll.

      We need someone that speaks these languages to teach us! ;)

      Ryuichi

    13. Well, for me, I've always pronounced Luts to rhyme with nuts.

      As to Yder- well, my son's name is Ryder, so I pronounce it like his name, minus the beginning "R" so Eye-der. No idea if it's right, but that's my take on it.

      -Meredith

    14. Lee-shay is how I say it.

      Ryuichi

    15. Yeap, doom for my wallet ^_^'

      Luts = Boots with an L. I know it's wrong. Cant help myself.. we, from soviet russia, do not get your barbarian language... :D
      Iplehouse = Applehouse with I (sort of)

    16. Hmm. English spelling would dictate that for Luts, the "nuts but with an L" pronunciation makes the most sense. Same with "Eye-plehouse", although in my head I pronounce it to rhyme with nipple. I think if the companies cared, they would share with us how they're supposed to be pronounced. XD Of course, if the names are based on their languages (someone above said iple is actually a word?) then they could assume anyone with a brain would pronounce it the way they do in their language. XD

    17. ...I can't even say Bobobie e.e; Just something about it makes it hard for me. It's like...I forget how many 'bo's there are. It makes me think about how some people forget how to spell banana sometimes xD

      Luts = Lutz
      Soom = like doom 83
      Iplehouse= Ih-pplehouse
      Yder= EE-der, the Y makes me think of Yggdrasil, where the Y is pretending to be an I lol
      Lishe= Lee-shay
      Cian= Cyan like the color
      Unoa= Oo-noh-ah
      Dolkot= Doll-coat

      ...I have NO IDEA how to say Ducan [my friends and I all gave up and just call him Duncan]

    18. Same on the Ducan thing! For the longest time I didn't even notice it wasn't duncan. Yay stupid moments lol!

      Bobobie for me has been bo-bob-ee even though I know I'm saying it wrong. I just have to be.

      Unoa was hard. I was trying to figure it out and kinda said "Meh screw it! U-nuh" Lame huh? Again, totally know it's wrong.

      Yder I don't even try.

    19. xD We called him Doo-can for a while when we noticed the spelling, but it just sounded awkward e.e; At least Duncan's a real name xD

      ...I'm still not going to bother with trying Bobobie...because personally, I don't care for them so they never come up in conversation.

    20. Urgh pronunciation is not my strong point. For the past two years of this hobby I've simply winged it. I've heard Unoa pronouced as YOU-noh-a. I found it odd...I wish that the companies would share such information with the BJD community.
