1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you pronounce "Leeke" and other company/sculpt names?

Jan 28, 2007

    1. I pronounce Luts with a short u-sound.. Like the japanese u. Sure it's wrong though.

      And I start to get used to pronouncing Volks Voruk(u)su or no one will understand me.

      Unoa - same thing, short U, then noa and the o is also japanese o.

    2. Luts: Luhts, I've heard it pronounced loots a lot though.
      Iplehouse: Eye-pull-house
      Lishe: Lee-sha. Only I pronounce the 'a' more like 'eh'
      SOOM: Doom with an 's'
      Supia: Soup-ee-ah
      Unoa: Oo-no-ah
      Yder- Eye-der
      Leekeworld: Leak-world
      Cian: Cy-an
      Bobobie- Boe-boe-bee

    3. Luts: rhymes with Nuts
      Iplehouse: EYEpulhouse
      Lishe: LEE-sh (rhymes with jeesh)
      SOOM: rhymes with doom and gloom
      Unoa: (I switch the o and the n in my head) OO-oh-nah, but when I correct myself I think of it as OO-no-ah (and then I think "you know her?")
      Yder- Yeh-der (like better with a d instead of t's)
      Leekeworld: Leaky-world (like a world with untightened faucets)
      Bobobie- Bo-Bo-Bee

      That's my two cents. But I was chatting with a friend about "Luts" (like nuts) and she had no clue what I was talking about then went "OHH Luts! (like loots), then I got confused *_*

    4. Since it's ok to discuss pronounciation of dolls in here too - what are your takes on Elfdoll Soah and Sooah? :)

    5. Luts = Lutts. Like, mutts. haha
      Iplehouse = Eyeplehouse.
      Oh, and the Soah / Sooah thing: So-Ah and Soo-ah. I just say it the way they`re spelt. xD

    6. Luts : rhymes with butts
      Soom: rhymes with boom
      EYEplehouse

      the nipplehouse suggestion kinda freaks me out

      har har

    7. I say it like its said.. Pet-Sha

      What about twingkey? Everytime I say twingkey.. everyone thinks Im saying twinkie

    8. I was wondering, I know I'm probably not using my phonics correctly, but how do you pronounce "Feeple". It's been on my mind, I think I'm pronouncing it right, but I'm not exactly sure.

      Is it "Fee-pul" or "Fee-plee"?

    9. nipplehouse.. *snerks*

      I say Sew-ah for Soah and Sue-ah for Sooah.

    10. I say fee-pul

    11. Luts = Lust
      Iplehouse = Ipple (cripple, nipple, ripple, etc.) house
      Soom like doom
      Leeke = Leak, leek
      Yder = EYE-der (sometimes ee-der. Depends on how lazy I feel, really. When I think about it, it's eye-der. But just to read it, I want to pronounce it ee-der)
      Migidoll = Migg ee doll
      Latidoll like the expression, "La-ti-dah"
      Crobidoll = crow bee doll
      Ryu... is like in japanese. Like you're saying something that starts with R but correct yourself to say "you". Just... quickly.
      Lishe = Leash
      Cian = She Ann
      Unoa = You no uh
      Ducan = Duke Ann
      Twingkey is like Swing key...but with a T. Yeah, the Twinkie dilemma.
      Petsha = Pet Shah
      Soah = So ah
      Sooah = Sue ah
      Volks like Folks
      Ryeon = Re-own
      Feeple = Fee-pull

      Here's a tough one. Raam. I pronounce it Rahhhhhm. Making sure the "ah" is extended for as long as possible without making me totally feel awkward, and emphasizing it. But man, if that isn't one of the most awkward sculpt names to pronounce

    12. Luts - like sluts without the s... XD
      Iplehouse - eyeplehouse... The beginning kinda sounds like "maple" like a maple tree or maple syrup...
      Latidoll - la-tee-doll
      Migidoll - mee-gee-doll
      Bobobie - bo-bo-bee
      Yder - yai-der
      Soom - like zoom only with an s...
      Cian - like the colour cyan.
      Lishe - lish-shay
      Unoa - ooh-know-ah
      Ducan - Doo-kin
      Feeple - Fee-pull
      Leekeworld - Leek world (which constantly reminds me how much I can't stand the taste of leeks... D: )

      It's funny 'cause I tend to pronounce things according to the Japanese alphabet, but then sometimes I get a weird Irish lilt so even as I try to hear myself in my head, it could come out a bit different when I actually say it... XD

    13. Aha, I'm totally going through and saying these under my breath now. I'm surprised they've not started to do that word-stops-making-sense thing. I've wondered. This is really interesting!

    14. Luts's original pronounciation is L + oots. (Sounds like Roots with 'L'. ) ^^
      However, the [oo] sound is short. (there is no long or short vowel sound in Korean)

      Most of Pronounciation guess is right~ ^^

      LEEKE [Li-ke] = [Ke] sound is from 'NEver' .
      Yder = Original sound is [Eeder]. It sounds as 'Even''s first E sound.
      Cian = It sounds [Ki-An]. [Ki] sounds like 'KEY' .
      Feeple = refer to 'people'. ^^

    15. I pronounce TwingKey as Twin Key. For some reason, I leave the 'g' out. =X

      I can't seem to get Ipplehouse to stick as 'eyepullhouse' in my head. :sweat

    16. I feel like a knob knowing I pronounce all these names in my head incorrectly! My biggest goofs:

      Luts - guts, mutts, butts :oP
      Lishe - rhymes with dish
      Narae - I used to think Nair-ee now I use Nah-rey but Catrina of Doll Fair had a post about pronouncing it. Even after reading that I can't say it correctly.

    17. I have no idea why I do this but I always pronounce "Lishe" like Lish-ey. And Yai-der for Yder. God knows why. I cant even pronounce bobobie. Its a tongue twister. lolol.

    18. Luts = Like nuts with an L
      Soom = like doom
      Iplehouse= Eye-plehouse
      Yder= Y (like Why) Der. Y-Der in other words.
      Lishe= Like leash
      Cian= Cyan like the color
      Unoa= Oo-no-ah
      Dolkot= Doll-cot (you know, cot, like the baby bed? :/)
      Crobidoll= Crow-bee-doll
      Narae= Na-rah-eh (ie: Typical Japanese phonetics, because that's just the way it looks to me)
      Leekeworld= Leek-world
      Latidoll= Lah-tee-doll
      Migidoll= Like 'midget' just no real emphasis on the d. Midgi-doll... kinda XDDD

      I know like probably like RAPE all the names haha, but that's just how I say them >.<;

    19. Luts = nuts with a L instead on an N
      Yder = Yee - dur?
      Narae = Nuh - ray
      Homme = Hoh - may?
      Cian = See in
      Heliot = He lee oh
      Beryl = Brr (it's cold!) el
      Lishe = Lish-ee, Leash, or Lish?

    20. Well, for me, I reason that Luts is "loots" because if it were "luhts" it would be spelled Lutz... in my brain at least. XD

      I pronounce just about everything the same as gridbug does, excepting that for me Cian is "Sheean" really fast. XD
