1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your BJD, clothes, and accessories?

Feb 5, 2015

    1. I keep my loongsoul dolls full set hanging in my closet so the pleats don't get wrinkled. The rest of my doll cloths live in decorative IKEA boxes in the bottom of my doll case. I don't have many cloths yet :)

    2. Currently my doll clothes are separated based on size: my yo has her own tiny plastic carved jewelry box thing I picked up in an antique store, but the drawers are really shallow so they can't fit much :x my MSDs clothes and all accessories are stuffed into a fabric makeup tote that is about to burst at the seams x__x and my SDs (and a few holiday specific MSD things like ugly Christmas sweaters) are stuffed into a flip-top box.

It's a really messy system and I honestly hate it. I've been trying to figure out a way to go about sorting my dolls' clothes based on their CHARACTERS, but haven't figured out a way I like that won't also take up copious amounts of space? x__x I might have to get individual chests of drawers or wardrobes for them and just....Hide them... Somewhere... Idk Dx

    3. Sealed and stored in an armoire for now.

    4. Those doll wardrobes are so damn cute :chibi

I have mine folded and stuffed in an oh-so-glamorous stacking compartment storage box that I bought from target. Actually, most of my doll supplies are stored away in there... it keeps stuff from getting lost, and that's all that matters to me right now.

    5. For shirts, dresses, pants with belt loops, etc for SD and MSD I use those little wooden hangers they sell from China on EBay.

For wigs I have the specialized wooden wig holders, again from China. It's like a base, rod sticking up, and wooden head-shaped ball on top.

For the smaller stuff (including smaller clothes, accessories, eyes, glue sticks, etc.) I have a big plastic box (maybe for fishing tackle?) that opens up in such a way that the top shelves go back when you open the lid. It has a clear top and looks nicer than a fishing box. There are little trays and "walls" inside that you can arrange.

    6. I keep my doll outfits in snap-lid plastic totes from Costco. The translucent totes come in a pack of three and only cost maybe around $16 USD? Sometimes they're on sale or have rebates right after the Christmas holiday.

Since the outfits are pretty densely packed with no air flow, I try my best to keep humidity down to a minimum. When things are packed away for a while in a humid place they can sometimes get that gross musty smell.

To keep things dry I throw in some desiccant packs that I make using dollar-store socks and clean silica-based cat litter. You might have to sift them first because there's a lot of excess dust in the litter.

    7. I have a metal box where I them.

    8. big plastic containers... keeps them away from dust.

    9. My SO and I keep everything in a little bin! It has all our dolly clothes. Most of them are factory made, but there are a few that I've made myself.

    10. My little cedar closet quickly became overrun, so I requisitioned a small trunk. It's almost full.

    11. I put them in little plastic bags and put them either in the mini suitcase I have for my doll or in a box

    12. currently i have some padded ziplock bags reserved for small clothes that i can bunch up to keep track of go-to outfits or similar colors, and i store all of the bags + larger items (like fabrics and accessories for photos) in a drawer! ah, the ease of storage when you have a 20cm doll ...

    13. I buy the cute photo storage boxes from the craft store :kitty2
I like that they have a spot to label them and they stack pretty good..

    14. I have several bins where I put my doll clothes. Each bin is for a different bjd size.

    15. I have a plastic tub for the clothes and a littler one with compartments that fits inside for like accessories and eyes and such :DDD

    16. I bought a divided organizer box. Little compartment for shoes, little compartment for shirts, etc.
      That's just for my tinies.....
I need to invest in something for my msds as I'm currently gaining more clothing for them and nowhere to put it.

    17. I've got my doll stuff stored in a box. You know these sqare-boxes for sqare-shelves by Ikea?
My props, eyes and shoes are in a box in this Ikea-box. And the clothing is just thrown over it. It's a mess *_*

Right now I'm searching for inspiration to store my clothing tidy and nice. I was thinking about these clips or something similar to hang the clothes on a pole...

    18. I put them into PVC bags. They can keep the clothes in save from wetness and scents.

    19. Mine go in decorative tins and boxes that I've been accumulating over time. Cookie tins, sturdy boxes with magnetic flaps, etc.

    20. So far I was keeping them in a box but it’s not overflowing and it bothers me having to rifle through to find things I’m looking for, so I think I’ll be taking some inspiration from other posters here and buying some drawers :)
