1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your BJD, clothes, and accessories?

Feb 5, 2015

1. Tonboko I have some things similar to that just without wheels. I might get one like that, though, because I feel like the wheels would be nice so I can just wheel it in and out of my closet when I want to.

2. I have one large snapware type container I got from Container Store when it was on sale. It has held up quite well and fits all of the clothes to date. I want to get another one for other doll things (or maybe I should just clear out how much I have XD).

3. I have most of their clothes in a medium sized plastic bin, and another similar sized bin full of 4 puki puki/ real puki boxes, a few spare wigs, ect. The two real pukis and one complete puki puki spend most of their time in a dollhouse. My bigger dolls (mature tinies) are all sitting in a "living room" at the foot of my bed. Unfortunately its where the sunlight through a south facing window falls. I stick the bins in front of them when its sunny, but my first doll, who's tan, is changing color slightly! So maybe I should find a different spot in my room for them.

4. Right now I have their accessories stored in their individual boxes, but I'm looking at getting a small plastic bin with drawers to hold their stuff instead. It has worked out pretty well so far, but some of my dolls started sharing clothes and it would be so much easier if all the accessories were in the same place.

5. i have hat boxes in different sizes and writings on it what is in and for which size dolls :)

6. I currently keep everything in a cardboard box, but I would love to have a part in my room where I can display everything nicely :). Would love a clothing rack, shoe rack, accessory rack, wig stand..

7. I cleared out one of my clothes drawers for the girls. I have all the little things such as eyes, in little plastic containers.

8. It all started with a cardboard box, the one my first doll came in. Soon, that got too small from all my doll's stuff, and her new friend, so I needed to add a box. But those boxes got beat up, so I got some small suitcases, they're technically makeup suitcases.

Then I got Amiga and made her a ton of clothes. Her makeup suitcase got so full that I had to get a plastic bureau for her. It's almost as tall as she is, and it's almost full! And I'm already planning more outfits for her.

9. My doll storage is still evolving, but I use old glucose meter test strip containers to store spare eyes and jewelry bits.

10. I use those mini plastic drawer set things? I have no idea what to call them! I have one at the moment for my one girl but it seems to be getting way too full with all the stuff I get her. Luckily I have a tiny coming so I can just buy a bigger drawer thing for the big girl and give the small one to the tiny!
I like these because they are easy and practical and everything has a place. I use these little plastic containers my dad gave me from his computer stuff for eyes and tiny clips.

It's funny because with my non-BJDs, all of their stuff is just stuffed in a drawer with the velcro undone and no organization my babies have so many supplies to keep things in good condition!

11. Is...

... 'badly' an answer? ;)

Seriously. I have stuff everywhere. The SDs have a large, human suit case for their clothes, and another shopper-style bag for their lingerie, and a big gift box for their shoes, but then there's the two newcomers who, just to be different, like casual clothes, so they've got their own shoebox, as do the other two who refuse to share their fairly specific wardrobe. Oh, and the MSDs have their own clothes box the same size as the SD shoe box, and... the tinies have a... tiny... corner of the large box the two 70cm boys store their limited collection in.

Aaarrgh... *_*

It's a nightmare!

(And the thought of coming up with a better solution is just far too daunting!)

12. I use shoeboxes. I think they are a great size for MSD clothes.

13. I keep my dolls in their boxes. And I have labeled containers for wigs, clothes and other stuff. But I keep all of it in my closet so my pets can't get to it :XD:

14. All my dolls sit everywhere in my room but only in shadow because I really enjoy to see them everyday. :XD: Their clothes and accessories are separated into many boxes; white/ dark colored clothing, pants, kimono, shoes, accessories made from metal/resin/clay/glass, etc...

15. I don't really have a lot of clothing for my girl, so all of her stuff is kept in a closet I made her.

16. I'm using a box where I put clothes and accessories. I still have not so much stuff so it's not a problem, at the moment. And I have my dolls sitting on a shelf in my bedroom. ^_^

17. I am currently rethinking/evolving my doll storage, which worked well when I had 8, but not so good with 19! My clothing is in separate snapwear boxes divided by SD, MSD and Tiny. I have two three drawer plastic bins that I was using for shoes and accessories, but my shoe collection has over flowed and I need to make separate storage for it. My clothing boxes are also too full, so I am trying to decide if I want to do individual boxes for each doll (perhaps those pretty book boxes you get at Michael's) or if I just want to separate out all the themed stuff-make boxes for my Victorian and Japanese clothing and keep the casual stuff all together.

My eyes are currently in one of those bead boxes that has the box with the sets of screw-on compartments for different sorts of beads. One pair of eyes fits in each compartment. A good doll friend set me on to that idea.

The dolls themselves are currently residing on my bookcase and dresser in my curtained bedroom.

18. I'm in the process of making a small adjustment to my doll clothing storage.

Having just received another (fancy, pricey, multi-component) outfit for my SDs, sitting down to put it on, and realizing I had no idea how it was actually supposed to go together, I've decided to store all pieces of the outfits (once I change the boys again) in a zippered plastic bag*, with a laminated printout of the company photos of the outfit. I think having a picture of all pieces and how they go together, as well as company identification for future reference, will simplify future attempts at putting them on, and the zippered plastic bag (with smaller zippered bags to hold the tiny ornamentation pieces) will keep everything together so nothing gets damaged or lost!

*Thanks to a former "job" combined with a mismeasurement, I have sturdy acid-free zippered bags in a size that will nicely fit any SD clothing coming out my ears, I may as well use them!

19. My dolls are on a bookshelf, and I plan to make that shelf into a doll apartment with furniture and a backdrop. The shelf gets some indirect light from the bedroom windows, but the dolls are far back on the shelf, in shadow, and my bedroom windows filter out UV light. The shelf is high enough that my cat can't get to it, and just in case, he gets locked out of the bedroom when I'm not home. For now, my doll clothes are in shoeboxes.

20. I keep the wigs in a plastic Ziplock baggy with nets around most of them. Little socks and panties I keep in a zipper bag. Then clothing I keep in a giant laundry basket. I HAVE SO MUCH CLOTHES...mostly because I make my own. :sweat
