1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your BJD, clothes, and accessories?

Feb 5, 2015

    1. WOAH This is super inspiring, i've been trying to get better organized and being able to see most of what you have but still it protected is amazing. .

    2. I'm curious! I don't have too much clothing for my dolls yet but one day they will most likely have more then me haha. I share a rather small room with my aunt so I don't have much free space which means I'll have to figure out how to do it in minimal amounts of space when the time comes lol. Anyways how do ya'll store your doll clothes?

    3. Freezer bags, I separate items by type, one for shirts, one for pants, etc. I donโ€™t vacuum seal them but I do push out as much of the air as I can. I keep the bags in a box that used to hold Smoking Loon Cabernet Sauvignon (no one in my family drinks but we will head to the liquor store whenever we need boxes ) the box goes up on a shelf in my closet.

    4. I have all of my doll clothes stored in a chest of drawers. I have a shoebox size plastic tub for each doll with their name on it. There are a few outfits I do have hanging on doll sized hangers in the guest room closet, mostly things I don't want to get wrinkled or damaged by other items.

@unoa_im_afreak If you want to send some of that liquor my way, feel free. :XD:

    5. I store clothes, shoes, wigs, eyes, supplies, etc. in the doll boxes.

    6. I use little boxes with the clothing separated by doll size

    7. I store doll shoes in a same box with zipper bags for each of them, and put some dry packs inside the box.
Clothes will depends on what is inside, for some clothes that cannot be pressed, I will put them in a little box separately; for clothes that is cheaper, I will just put them in a doll box; for other dress set, I will put them in zipper bags and put in the boxes.
Also a wig box for wigs.

    8. My doll boxes are the storage space for the outfits they came in (fullsets) or the first sets I bought for that doll specifically. The others I store in these wooden tea boxes, which are easely stackable.

      Something like these

I was lucky to find an older lady who went through one or two boxes of this a year and I could manage to get 6 in total. Sadly, she passed away and I don't drink that much tea by myself. I got 1 box empty in over 2 years. But I'm thinking about finding these wooden boxes for tea-bag storage. Some have these interchangable parts inside, so I'm hoping to find some where I can remove the wooden pallets inside of tem.

      LIke these:
cherry and koa dovetailed tea boxes

Most of these boxes are a bit deeper and when you buy some of the same size, they are easely stackable. Mine are next to my dresser in my room and they don't look messy at all. The easy stacking also makes for easy storage inside of closets, so there's that.

Before this I had plastick boxes which did the same trick. I just prefer the tea boxes because I store them in plain sight and aesthetic-wise, it was better.

Edit: I also store my doll shoes in them. I have one wooden box filled with only shoes. You can add little cardboard platforms and deviders so the shoes don't get thrown all over the place.

    9. I bought Ikea cardboard boxes (Tjena) and store the clothes by doll size. I have separate boxes for shoes and wigs. I also have two small racks where I display dresses etc. on hangers.

    10. Do you like the racks you have in particular? If so, I would love to know where you got them!

Can't help with the minimal space aspect - these shelves of doll clothes boxes are double-stacked on the shelves so there's another lot behind the visible ones. They're divided up by size and gender of doll, with boxes in each size range for shoes, clothes, wigs and accessories. There are some boxes for individual doll wo have a lot more clothes than the others, are a very distinct size, or are so different in style to the others of their size it's easier to keep their stuff in separate boxes.

    12. I have two sets of small drawers, the kind that are classed as bedside ones.

I have one with three drawers with all my doll clothes in it. One drawer dark clothes for Iplehouse FID, one light clothes for FID, and the other for slim MSD clothes. My three slim MSD dolls sit on top of it.

My other set of small drawers also have three drawers: a drawer for wigs (in individual plastic bags), one for shoes and stockings, and the other for all my tiny doll things. My three Iplehouse FIDs sit on top of that set of drawers.

Both drawers sit next to my desk (my tiny sits on my desk) so my dolls are in perfect eyeline to where I'm sat, and the drawers easy to reach into!

    13. Each individual piece or set in a plastic bag and these bags in Ikea plastic boxes.

    14. I have an antique dresser full of clothes, wigs, shoes, some outfits in ziplocks to keep it all together, shoe boxes for dividers. I also have an old entertainment center shelf that I've adapted to store my dolls, furniture, props, art supplies etc.... and then I made a portable clothing rack from appliance cardboard that I decoupaged to hang some of the wardrobe to enjoy looking at and while I am dressing them. Think outside the "box" and you will find workable solutions from things you already have. Maybe a hall closet or linen cupboard, an old hopechest, etc.... like me an ugly old, oversized entertainment center, lol.

    15. I have been hatching an idea to hang string back and forth on an empty wall and hang clothes on it like a clothes line just to see some of my favorite bits. It seems a shame to have them all tucked away...

    16. I have been thinking about that too for the very same reason but the dust...

I have two sizes, 1/4 and 1/6 and I like the largest one best as the small one's rail is a little bit unsteady. I bought them in an Etsy shop (DreamStudioDollHouse).

    17. I only have tinies, so mine are in a My Little Pony tinbox.

    18. I have most of mine in a pair of small, three-drawer chests-of-drawers that I found on sale at World Market a few years ago. Having several drawers makes sorting by size easier.
