1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you store your BJD, clothes, and accessories?

Feb 5, 2015

    1. I don't store Cherry, but if I should have to of course I have her box. She's the only doll I have so it's no thing. Her clothes, on the other hand...girl has a lot of clothes. I have them stored as separate outfits in freezer bags in a huge bin.

    2. I have a few of those plastic towers with sliding drawers: one for craft supplies, one for cosplay, and I might repurpose another one for doll clothes after I start accumulating more of them.

I also love the idea of getting a small clothes rack to hang things on with a drawer at the bottom for accessories...But that would probably be more of a photoshoot prop than a practical storage solution!

    3. Hi..
Does anyone have any good ideas how to storage your doll clothes, + wigs etc?
      Especially the clothes.

    4. I used to have clothes in various small boxes (some even shoe boxes) that kept getting filled and would gain more but after Christmas last year I went down and bought some of those Christmas decoration storage totes. I got flatter ones that are about a foot deep and 3'x2' in size. Ended up with 4; SD male, SD female, MSD, and YoSD. All but the MSD are pretty much filled and I also store their shoes on there. Wigs all go in their own tote which is smaller.

    5. I have mine in a wall of "Really Useful Boxes" with boxes for shoes, wigs, clothes, accessories, jewellery. Boxed up by by size and gender of doll, with occasional boxes for specific dolls if that doll has a lot of clothes that are specifically theirs.

A friend converted a cupboard into a series of doll-sized hanging rails for her doll clothes... which would be better in terms of avoiding the creases they get from being crammed into overfull boxes, but I'm not organised enough to keep putting them back on the hangers and hanging them up when I can just pile them up and shove them into a box a handful at a time.

    6. I got a cabinet from my husband a couple years ago as an anniversary gift. It's technically meant for tool / garden storage. My dolls sit on a couple of the shelves, their clothes in a bin under them with their clothes in baggies labeled by size. And then under the shelves are their prop bin, accessories bin, fabric bin (for making more clothes), and a craft bin (for making more props and accessories). And on the side of those bins is the wig bin. While the other bins are just normal storage totes the wig bin is actually a Christmas ornament organizer my husband got on clearance a few years back. I love it. Keeps wigsorganized and untangled.

    7. Not mine, but if you look at some of kotokazu's gallery posts you
can see the most beautiful wardrobe with hangers *____*

I used to keep clothes in a converted tea ceremony toolbox (tall and narrow with three horizontal shelves), which was a great and classy solution when I had just the one MSD.

Now I've got one of those canvas shoe organizers that hangs from a closet pole, but I'm still trying to track down the doll-sized equivalent of shirt boxes to keep items folded tidily.

    8. Unfortunately not, as I've been storing all my doll-related items in a big cardboard box for years now, and it's starting to get full. I should probably try to find a better arrangement soon...

    9. I have an Ikea cabinet and the hangers are hanging from a metal net.

    10. Each of my dolls has a shoebox size plastic tote to hold their clothes, shoes and accessories, and I put them all in a chest of drawers I use exclusively for doll stuff. I have a larger tote I keep in the closet for extra wigs, which I try to keep in their original packaging, though a few didn't have anything more than a plastic bag. I have a doll bed and doll couch the actual dolls hang out on, their boxes are on the top shelf of the closet in the guest room.

    11. I keep all of my dolls in what I call the doll cabinet. It's really a bookshelf that has adjustable shelves and double glass doors. It protects my dolls from dust and my cats. It's so nice to have them all in one place where I know they are safe. They don't have any direct sunlight hitting them.

On top of the doll cabinet I have some pretty craft boxes where I keep their clothes, accessories and wigs. The boxes are lovely and quite sturdy. I prefer them to plastic bins because they look so nice. You can get them at craft stores. My SD sized clothes are in a suitcase type box. I keep my eyes in one of those bead holder thingies. For my floating heads and extra resin bits such as hands and feet I keep them all together in a box.

I also have all of my receipts, certificates of authenticity, any paperwork, ID cards or guide books, basically anything that ships with the dolls in a box. I don't ever want to lose any of those things.

Lastly, I have all the doll pillows, blankets, stuff of that nature, and my Volks box(the only doll box I've saved)in a wicker chest.

    12. I'm currently storing in bubble wrap for any accessories since I haven't gotten my doll yet (she's being made I think?) but I've been looking at doll closets and drawers on places like mercari and ebay. The vintage options are typically nicer but my generation and american girl have good scale for my doll

    13. I've been a very naughty girl, lol.

I got out an old jewelry box that was collecting dust in a closet. My husband wants to go through my MIL's old jewelry in there "some day," which tends to mean the Twelfth of Never, so I put all the jewelry into a Tupperware and put it where the jewelry box had been, and the box itself is now holding my doll clothes.

Husband won't be particularly happy, but I will point out that I did not throw out one single piece of jewelry from the entire box, and I was careful not to break anything.

    14. Everything is in boxes under my bed, lol. The downside is that I have to get the dolls and stuff out every time I need to, but on the other hand such a method of storage protects resin from yellowing really well! Even my almost 8 years old doll barely changed his color!

All the doll stuff is in a plain cardboard box for now and i keep it near my dolls too. It's handy to have everything in one place.

    15. I use plastic totes with flip-lock handles as they're easy to get into. They're about 11' x 15" x 6" high. Each tote hold the clothes belonging to one or two dolls, including shoes. Wigs are in two separate totes and I have other totes for fantasy outfit, spare parts (including eyes), accessories (a double tall tote), and face-up supplies. They're all stacked two high on the shelves of a set of open bookshelves. I have another set of tall totes on another set of shelves with fabric, patterns, and sewing supplies.

    16. I forgot to mentions that wigs and shoes are in divided trays in their plastic storage crates:

    17. i have multiple sets of small wooden drawers that i store doll clothes, shoes, eyes and such in and i store the jewelry and glasses in a cufflink box which works perfectly. no idea where to store my wigs though

    18. When I do not have my dolls displayed, I put them back into their original packaging. I also have my own doll room, where I am able to keep everything stored safely.

    19. I keep my dolls in a display case, away from windows. They're safe from dust and my curious kitty behind the glass. :) I purposely bought a case with a lock, so that when I have kids one day, little hands can't get to my dolls too...

As for extra clothes and wigs... I just keep them in the doll boxes in my closet, lol.

    20. I have a freestanding plastic thing with drawers. I regret having that many clothes for dolls, but its come to that.
