1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your BJD, clothes, and accessories?

Feb 5, 2015

1. My dolls sit on shelves and some have doll stands, away from direct sunlight.
All my bjd accessories and eyes/wigs are in boxes on some shelves as well, each catrgory stored in a zipperbag like: "Fullsets", "tops", "shirts", "pants", "shorts", "underwear" and "shoes". My extra parts are in a tiny suitcase. :)

2. I found a really awesome vintage hard-shelled samsonsonite overnight suitcase and a large matching make-up case. The makeup case is super for tools, elastic, jewelry, socks...small things etc etc because it has these really handy pockets sewn all the way around the inside for compartment. The suitcase also has that and a twist knobbed compartment separator. I keep clothes in one side and wig in the other. I also make wig stands for display and rotate the wigs periodically. I should post a picture! Some of my stand are pretty elaborate. :)

Forgot to say, the reason I don't just have my girl's clothes in a box on the bookshelf:

Spoiled fat chihuahua + Iplehouse EID Gadeunia (gardenia?) dress $$$ = DISASTEROUS

3. in thier original coffins, i mean boxes, lol. i figured that is the best way to protect them from the sun or my dogs:)

4. I'm probably going to store them the same way I store my other dolls:

Everyone is on a shelf, out of direct sunlight. Wigs, and any stock accessories they're not using, are stored in the doll's box. Then I have 2 tinboxes: 1 for clothes, 1 for plastic accessories. Since I'm getting rid of a lot of my play doll stuff, I may be able to re-use the tinboxes. If not, then that goes into the dolls' original boxes too.

5. Has anyone thought of making wigstands?

6. that would be fantastic. i was going t get a mini tennis ball and stick something long and sharp in it. to make one.. but i think micheals craft store has mini stands people use to sell rings, jewelry ect. there may be some for other things that we could use for wigs?
i looked online and found some creative alternatives others are using

7. I used to have a dolly room because we had the extra space. But since the room needed to be occupied, I had to move all my dolls in a big cabinet. I've yet to decorate it to my liking and it's obviously taking a long time. There's 2 drawers in it where I store their things and then the dolls just stay in the open area where sun doesnt get to them since the cabinet can be closed.

8. Cherry berry blossom: how about... Small Styrofoam balls and then attaching them to a strong wire or wooden stick?

9. I'm probably going to store my doll clothes in plastic containers or in a basket folded neatly (of course). I'm not really fancy with my dolls, but I do plan to be organized <3

10. Also! Thank you for the links :) I'd rather make a stand myself to help save on costs, but those have the rough idea of what I was thinking

11. I use "Really Useful Boxes" and other stackable storage containers for the doll clothes, shoes, and accessories

They are mostly kept on a large shelf unit in our supposedly spare-bedroom that takes up an entire wall.

12. A large box in the closet that they rarely poke their heads out of. It's dark and protective. When I want to do something with them, I pull them out for a while. :)

13. I've read a lot of people putting their dolls in boxes and away... Does being outside a box wear on the doll? :#

14. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]I have a bunch of beautiful wigs and like the look of them. I hate keeping them hidden away so I decided to make some wig stands. I added a little pin cushion to hold wigs in place if I'm styling them. I've got a bunch of wig caps, but sometimes I'm in ultra bouffant mode and they won't stay in place :) I made a bunch but don't use all of them. Here are some that I made but don't use

15. When I rearranged my craft room last month, I deliberately set aside some boxes specifically for doll stuff. I've got four large boxes to hold all my stuff: one each for SD, MSD, tinies, and other doll supplies (toolkit/sewing kit, face-up supplies, fabric earmarked for doll clothes, mini iron, etc.). Each box has other boxes inside to divide the stuff up, like the SD one has boxes for my girl's clothes, one for boy's clothes, and one for random accessories.

My dolls themselves hang out in my room. My SDs have a living room on the dresser, my MSD lives on the shelf, and my tinies sit wherever they feel like, currently on a bench on top of a low bookshelf.

16. @Vesuvia you made those??? those are incredibly well made and detailed! my hats off to you, big time!!! A+

I keep the dolls on a shelf away from the light, and I keep their goodies in a little plastic set of drawers in my room. It's getting cramped, though, and i might get a unit for each doll.

17. skykfitty061 - wow! Thank you! I scoured the internets looking for wig stands and either they were boring, plain (glitter would have helped! Everything is better with glitter), hideous, or were for Barbie sized heads only. I figured I'd make my own andif they turned out okay, maybe later I'd offer them up for anyone who liked them. I made stands for 6-7, 7-8, 8-9 wigs - and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Well, happy enough that I'm actually showing anyone...Also! It helped me get over my fear of doing face-ups!

18. i have a big bookshelf in my room that i bought specifically for my dolls .. although it's getting really crowded now and i need to buy a new one ... but i don't think my room has a space for another bookshelf with that size :|

19. I lack in the space department so I have 3 big plastic boxes I slid under my bed. One for SD clothes, one for accessories and YoSD clothes and one for wigs. Tho I'm using the cardboard box that came with my minifee Rin sheep to store all the MSD clothes/shoes. But I'm now in the part of struggling for where I'm I going to put the new stuff when I get more >>;;;

20. I store my wigs and small props in colorful clear plastic scrap-booking boxes; they are the perfect size(made for 12" by 12" paper) and because they are clear I can see which box I need to pull out without having to put labels on them. I currently have my clothes in a mini armoire (American Girl one), but it's heavy and awkward and is already stuffed so full it wont close anymore (LOL) so I'll be getting another scrap-booking box soon for them. I keep their jewelry in a few small wooden chests(to scale to my minis). When I'm not actively working with a doll I will either set them on their couch or chair and cover them with a super soft micro-fiber blanket or put them back in their boxes to protect them from sun until I can get around to putting up my curtains(I have them, special sun blocking ones, but I'm not strong enough to put the curtain rods up by myself). I also keep my dolly crafting supplies in the same kind of scrap-booking boxes (except my fabric which is in plastic under-bed storage boxes because there's so much of it). I've only recently gotten a good supply of tiny shoes, and haven't yet decided how I want to store them. My crafting supplies and dolls have their own room so I can keep my dogs (and all their hair!) out of my stuff, but I don't have much furniture yet because I'm a semi-broke college student and would rather buy itty bitty shoes than shelves :P I currently use a kitchen island as my crafting table/doll stuff storage but it's really old and dysfunctional so I'm thinking about replacing it with a crafting station I'm going to make myself. Oh, the dream of an organized craft/doll room! Maybe after finals. XD
