How do you store your BJD, clothes, and accessories?

Feb 5, 2015

    1. worth it? ... only if you don't plan on having too much stuff... it's pointless after abut 4 dolls and 20+ outfits... regardless of doll size ><,,, but for 'display' purposes they can be nice... unless you can customize a giant one. ppl with large dolls and large wardrobes can turn a human size tv armoire into an amazing doll storage cupboard.

    2. Ok Thanks i have too much stuff for the small ones. Great idea on the TV cabinet. Have you made one?

    3. Right now I only have a few things for my doll so they're all sealed in a gallon ziplock bag,... but I plan to get a plastic 'file' box to put her stuff in.

    4. All of my dolls clothes/accessories are bagged in zipper plastic bags or bags they came in. Some are in their own, but outfit sets are together. I used to store the stuff in 3 different small trunks sorted by size. I just changed to get a set of short bookshelves that have two shelves at the top half and the bottom is an open larger square space for those fabric boxes. I got 4 of the shelves to get depth for room spaces for the dolls so I have 8 boxes sorted more by doll or other criteria now so I can use my trunks for some of the many other things I have to store in my room.

    5. I use the plastic file cases to store the clothes, especially those dresses that have like 10 items in a set. Other single items I just put them into zipper bags and pile them up in a box. I find those tablets/pills cases (not sure of their name) are really nice for storing accessories, you can quickly identify the accessory you are searching for and they don't get mixed up or tangled up because of the dividers.

    6. not me personally ... mine is in post 107... I like the suitcases and a couple of slightly deeper ones just a bit bigger than the large decorator suitcase things.... skim the thread there are a few similar ideas ... one looks like one of those larg pc cabinets. One is definitely a customized shelving set... There are lots of that idea in here lol

    7. I hae a big plastic tub filled with large ziplock bags separating outer wear, clothes, underwear and accessories.

    8. I have a plastic storage box that I got from The Container Store that offers a separate compartment for accessories and small items. Unfortunately, it looks as if I may need to upgrade as storage space is becoming limited. I have a weird love for organizing their things, so I'm actually excited about getting to do that soon :sweat

    9. All my doll clothes, wigs, shoes etc. are stored in the boxes the dolls actually came in. The dolls themselves are on stands sitting around my room and are rarely put away in storage.

Hi. This thread is so interesting to me. I just finished organizing my SD clothes and accessories. I took some pictures. I hope these are helpful to anyone looking for ideas. My dolls hang out on top of my book case, which is in the middle part of the house, away from direct sunlight. The girls' clothes and accessories are packed away in a suitcase, each outfit and small parts are in individual ziplocks, boots altogether in 1 ziplock and shoes as well. Wigs are in plastic, stackable containers. My boys' clothing and accessories are also in plastic containers. The suitcase and plastic containers are tucked away inside my coat closet.

    11. Thank you so much for those pics of your organization set up @Pamski! Would you happen to know the brand of that pink/black suitcase? It's really cute.

One tip I have for people, look up local classifieds or craigslist for storage solutions. I've seen some listings for armoires or boxes with hangers and beautiful latched boxes intended for fashion dolls and such that could also fit many smaller BJDs and their accessories. Even just looking up "doll" or "dolls" I have occasionally found some interesting things that could work for BJDs.

    12. For those of you with smaller dolls (because I can't see this being feasible with larger dolls, but you can try), Myfroggystuff just posted a video on how she stores her fashion dolls and accessories. She uses a lot of office supply stuff, including binders with plastic card holder sheets for doll clothes. It turns into a nice little catalogue. That's what I'd do if I had a tiny. :)

But I've got a 60cm boy, so I store his stuff in a plastic box. It's already half full with just his few shirts and a ziplock bag bursting with hair accessories (they just look so cute on him...!), so I may need to upgrade soon. lol

    13. It's a Hello Kitty suitcase I bought a long time ago in Sanrio. It has soft outer material so I never used it for travelling but I'm glad I found a new purpose for it.

    14. I forgot to mention that for floating heads, an apple tray can be useful to keep them altogether. It also protects their faceup and keeps the dust away. Here's mine:

    15. @Pamski Wow, that's a really cool idea, wouldn't have thought of that! ö3ö

I store all my doll stuff in a closet; one big box for wigs, one big box for clothes and shoes and two smaller ones for accessories and care items. I've also got some outfits that came in their own tiny boxes, I still keep them in there~

    16. Right now I'm using a plastic cabinet with three drawers, the kind that you can get at your local store for about ten bucks American. My little off-topic girls share the bottom drawer because they're tinies, Johnny gets the middle drawer, and the top one is where I keep all the stuff we've accumulated for April. I further organize the small accessories in Ziploc bags.

As for the dolls themselves, Johnny sits on a shelf by my bed, as it's the only place wide enough to accommodate him. The OT dolls share a cushion. April presents a problem, because once she gets here Johnny's shelf will be two small for both of them!

    17. Question-does sorting the outfits into plastic baggies help with items taking up less space? Right now I have everyone's clothes/wigs/accessories all tossed together in a single plastic tub. Thankfully because I just don't have that much extra clothing and whatnot it all fits, but with 11 dolls (and 5 in various stages of completion/along the way) I don't know how much longer that will be so. However, I don't exactly have a lot of disposable space, so I need to find the most efficient way to store clothes without resorting to a million different boxes and tubs (like I used to).

    18. I categorize the clothes and put it in ziplock baggies and then put everything in a box lol

    19. I live in a smallish apartment, and because the kitchen is close to the bedroom my BJD is kept in a glass display case to prevent oil and dust settling on it. I keep clothes and accessories in ziplock bags with desiccant dehumdifying packets to absorb any moisture, and place them in a drawer away from the sun.

    20. I only have one doll for now and I just lay him on my bed. My bedroom got a lot of sunlight, so I cover my doll with blanket. All of his accessories and clothes stored in some small plastic container boxes.

@Pamski That apple tray is a genius :D
