1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Jul 21, 2011

    1. XD well right now my stuff for my msd boy is all in one of the card board shipping boxes. this box is starting to overflow though so now his new outfit is folded up on my dresser. still the box holds a lot like the string puller, eyes, eye putty, eraser sponges, and the like. Later i wanna buy or make a wardrobe and hangers.

    2. I store my dolls and all my doll stuff in a locking doll case that my mom and I customized.

    3. This is a great thread for ideas because I'm just starting out and really need some. Doll accessories are beginning to take over the studio and things really need to be organized in there so I can start sewing again.

    4. A restaurant that I love was remodeling, and was selling this huge pirate chest/gem display that they've had since I was like 2 years old. Sooo, I bought it to store my doll stuff in. There are 10-12 different mini compartments with little brass signs of gem names which I keep different sizes of eyes in, and the bigger part of the inside has been lowered by my dad, and put a divider in it, and half has basic boy clothes, one has basic girl clothes. There was a cool secret door we found when we got it home that opens to a huge secret compartment under the chest, so I have plastic storage bins in there with limited outfits/formal wear.
Unfortunately, all of my wigs still live in my underwear drawer..so my undies have to live in another drawer. Haha

    5. Right now, I have my doll carrier hold the bigger items of clothing, and I tied a Fukubukoro bag the carrier to hold smaller clothing. The carrier has pockets that I store stuff in too.

However, I'm moving all of my doll stuff into a rolling suitcase so I can travel easier with them. I'll make full use of all of the pockets and compartments and organize my doll things accordingly, probably dividing it by Large-sized, Mini-sized, and Tiny-sized.

I like to keep things like maintenance supplies and clothing/accessories with the dolls, because I use this stuff frequently.

As for my doll furniture, it lives in my basement when I'm not using it, which is most of the time.

    6. I have one big drawer under my bed where I store all my doll's clothing, shoes, etc.^^ Inside the drawer I have bins, trays, and boxes to segregate the items. Each bin contains 2-3 types of clothing at most(e.g. one bin will only contain shorts, jeans, and skirts). I also use bins for wigs and eyes. The trays are for shoes, and boxes are for underwear and stockings, as well as misc. items. Items that are much too small go in ziplock bags so they won't get lost.^^;; Fullsets and shoes that will come in their own boxes will stay in their boxes when stored. So yes, that's how I store my doll's things.:"D

    7. I use plastic containers with lids. Each doll gets their own platic shoe box. I put everything that goes with that doll in that box and label it. Sometimes I put a piece of paper with details about the doll, its value and circa date on the lid as well. If I have two of the same dolls I would just put everything for those dolls in one box. So, if I have Lati, I put all of her clothing, wigs, eyes and accessories not in use in her container and use a different container for Pukifee. If I buy a new Lati, I combine. I do that so I can find the right size clothing for my dolls easily. If I put everything by type in a box, I would go crazy. The idea of digging through a box of eyes trying to find the right size is overwhelming to me. I store all my boxes under the bed to save space I try to stick with the same size container for everything so its neat and pleasing to the eye. I use platic because, we have hurricanes here and when the roof was damaged by trees 4 years ago, I lost some collectibles from water damage. The cardboard boxes just melted with the rainwater that was pouring into our home.

    8. My two sons have both moved back home, then back out again, so this last time I totally took over their bedroom with dolls. All my doll's clothes shoes, wigs, etc. are in the dresser and my dollhouse building materials (carpet, accessories and such) are in the chest of drawers. I have a sewing chair in there too. Its wonderful!

    9. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I seriously want to build a little closet space like this. Thank you for sharing.

    10. my dolls each have their own box, but the minis have a big zip lock because there are just so many and they're so itty bitty. I really want to have a nice closet with hangers though for some of my dresses anyway- Especially my hand made ones since they're a little more delicate since I can't hand sew to save my life XD

    11. i have one of they plastic drawer sets and i have them separated into tops, bottoms, accessories, shoes, wigs etc

    12. I have a plastic storage bin that I through everything into. I don't have too much stuff at the moment, but it's growing a bit disorganized...!

    13. At the moment I have three boxes, one for shoes, one for wigs/eyes and one for clothes. I really like pretty boxes instead of the clear, tupperware looking boxes, but they tend to be a little more on the expensive side which is why I don't have more. I really think I need to remedy this however, since even though none of my dolls have more than two outfits each, I find I'm already out of storage space. Plus, I'd like to find a way to organize a bit better by side from my MSDs to my SDs, and then I have two 56cm boys who can't fit into anything the bigger boys can. I just don't have a lot of space at the moment(aka NO space), so whatever I decide to do I know I'm going to have to get creative.

    14. I have a narrow wooden cupboard full of small drawers. Very much like the ones found in Ikea. It looks like something a collector of small things or someone with a fondness for nails or tube paints would use.

    15. Stackable storage boxes. Clear ones so I can see what's inside and I also label them.

    16. I cleaned out one drawer in my Ikea wall unit in the living room thinking that was going to be enough. It's already overflowing... I need to clean out one on the other side and start dividing things. Storage for wigs, storage for shoes, storage for eyes I'd like to all be separate. It's really tiresome right now to have to pull everything out of the one drawer to find what I'm looking for. XD

    17. Right now I have all my doll accessories sorted into three clear bins: one for wigs and resin accessories (horns, extra hands, etc.), one for boy stuff (clothes and shoes), one for girl stuff. Unfortunately this is proving to be a short-term solution...the bins are currently full to bursting :sweat

    18. I have some patterned photo boxes that I use to organize my doll things. One box for wigs, eyes and eye putty in a sealed bag with the wigs, one box for mini clothes, one for tiny clothes, one for my big dolls' clothes, one for shoes and one for props. The boxes are stacked on my bookcase. It's not a long-term thing but it's worked for a few years now.

    19. I want to buy a wardrobe and some hangers at one point, but for now I keep them in a shoe box that is lined with left over white fabric from a cosplay~
