1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Jul 21, 2011

    1. I hang almost all my clothes, so three dresser drawers belong to the dollies. Hubby is working on making doll-sized hangers with normal sized hooks so I can hang up their clothes on a spare area in the closet. The shoes, eyes, wigs, etc will stay in the drawers, but I hate ironing doll clothes even with the aid of the dolly iron!

    2. I currently have 11 dolls...each one is unique enough to require their own wardrobe, so that's a lot of clothes. On top of that, I love to sew and take part in swaps which means I'm always making something and the clothes are constantly multiplying. My storage solution is those big Rubbermaid/Sterilite drawer containers that look like plastic dressers...I pick them up at flea markets and thrift stores and then tuck them away in some descrete location near the dolls in question. Each doll has their very own large storage drawer that holds everything they need from clothing to wigs to shoes. That way, when I want something for a doll, I just go to their drawer and it's all in one spot.

    3. I have a jewelery box that looks like a dresser, so I have a lot of their clothing in there. The rest of their clothing is in a shoe box I store under their bed :3

    4. When I just had Change, I bought a cute little miniature chest of drawers from my local craft store. With a little bit of a sanding it was great to hold all his stuff.

But now of course, there are more dollies. I'm very much of the 'one outfit per doll' school of thought, however, so the dolly clothing doesn't take up much room. What is the real space problem is the dolly accessories I have, and the wigs/eyes I have collected. (I have a bunch of 'spare' wigs and eyes because dollies without wigs and eyes (even floating heads) creep me out unless I'm actively doing something with them like painting a face-up) The wigs all fit into one of my Yo- boxes, however, my accessories in another, and what little clothing remains is still in the little chest of drawers.

I keep all my faceup supplies with my art supplies in a caddy in another room.

    5. I have all clothes, shoes, and other things in a built-in wardrobe. Yes, an entire built-in wardrobe for it hahaha (I have 13 Pullips too).
The girls I have, I have on display in a IKEA shelving with glass doors.

    6. I have a rolly three-drawer cart in my closet devoted to doll clothing :)

    7. I found a wire computer desk at a thrift store. The shelves hold plastic shoe boxes with wigs and shoes.
the wire shelves also allow me to hang special clothes on doll hangers. The underneath area holds the
adult sized suitcases with outfits ziplocked within, one suitcase for each size and gender.
      (I sew a lot!)

    8. I found a little jewelry box that looks like a Dresser and is actually a good size for doll clothes and random things :D and I got it for about $4 at Goodwill ^-^
Though if things don't fit in there then I simply place it in Alexander's box
      which is pretty big lol

    9. Wanted to do a wardrobe ^_^; but I realised I was too lazy to even start on and my own wardrobe has a big empty space there.
So I just seperated the stuffs into tops, bottoms etc and put into the doll boxes and keep them in my own wardrobe.

    10. I have one big tote box and then smaller ones inside.

    11. I folded all of his clothes (like two outfits! lol) and put them in one of those small-ish velvet gift boxes then placed his extra pair of sneakers on top like in a shoe box. It's starting to fill up and I'm gonna need something else soon.

    12. I just throw all my doll clothes in a spare doll bag, but to be perfectly honest it's quite haphazard and I'm looking for something more tidy and organized since it's a pretty full bag. I don't have a lot of shoes, but they tend to get stuffed in my "doll" (build-a-bear) back packs.

All my face-up materials go in really nice sewing box I bought for art supplies in general, but it's been designated to my doll hobby.

    13. I use decorative boxes -- you can find them at places like IKEA and container stores. But it's also fun to find cool hat boxes and just odd interesting boxes at places like thrift stores too. I usually divide up the clothes by size and gender. I need to get some more boxes so I can better organize their props. I keep the clothes boxes and props on shelves.

    14. I keep my doll's clothes and shoes in Ziploc bags. That way they won't usually get stains on them. Then I store them in a plastic container.

    15. I have two or three doll boxes that are filled to the brim with spare wigs and eyes and clothing that I use fairly rarely. If an item is more pivotal for a doll, I'll normally keep it in the carrier with him so that I can change him to that item rather quickly (and during photoshoots). Then there is my 'unsorted' bucket.

Anything I pull off a doll -- eyes are incredibly prone to this treatment - and am either too lazy to put away in the correct storage, or might be trying it on another doll later, gets put in my bucket of doll things. It's sitting on my coffee table right now, and that's where the majority of the wigs I've been using lately are being held hostage until further notice.

    16. I put them in my drawer. I cleaned that drawer totally (move all things out, wiped it etc) and applied bubble wraps at the bottom (Don't ask my why bubble wraps for clothes LOL). I put all wigs and clothes there. As for doll eyes (comes with mini sponge boxes), mini goodies like booklet etc, I put them with my anime disc in another drawer.

These worked for me as I only got MSDs. But I'll need to re-allocate and arrange the clothes soon (in 1-3 weeks) so I can make space for the SDs I ordered.

    17. I have just folded clothes in the plastic (candy) boxes and then put them in the shelves. They are safe there and doesn't get dirty. Also shoes are in those boxes. It doesn't look so good, but works for me.

    18. I Do the same thing, I keep the Bags inside my Vanity next to the Box I keep my Doll in.
Which is the same box he came in, Next to all the props and display items.

    19. my BJDs have each their own grown-up-size shoebox in which I store their each individual clothes and shoes etc. it works fine, and are cheap to replace once their wardrobe grows.
