How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Jul 21, 2011

    1. I have SD boy clothes in a trunk, SD girl in boxes, MSD boy and girl in stackable drawers, and tiny boy and girl in a stackable box. Shoes are in a drawer. Mixed together, more or less.

    2. I've been keeping all the clothes in my closet and shoes&wigs in a cabinet.
      But now it's starting to overflow and I need to come up with new places to store…I hope I don't end up putting everything in plastic bags.

    3. Right now? Let's see... all of Layla's clothes are in a cylindrical makeup bag. It's stuffed to full capacity so really I'm gonna have to figure out something soon. I'll probably just move the clothes and stuff to her box for a while, but when I air-travel I use the makeup bag.

    4. I don't even have my first doll yet and I've started sorting storage space around and wondering what to use for dolly storage. I'm loving the ideas given here! I'd like to get a small version of a tv stand with front doors. That way my doll could have a place to "live" and I can keep track of a collection... Which, since I want to make all the clothes for my doll, will be exstensive!

    5. For now i keep my doll clothes in a plastic box that can be closed so that there can't come any dust on the clothes. But the box becomes a bit small :sweat maybe a should buy a bigger one or a cute box set.

    6. I haven't gotten the doll or clothes yet (they're floating somewhere in Korea still...hmmm) but I think I'm prepared. I have an old trunk (that was made for barbie clothing) that I can use, it came with hangers too! I might have to refurnish it and make it less...hot pink though. I don't think Benjamin would appreciate his soon to be closet being hot pink.:sweat

    7. I store my doll's clothes in a big antique jewelry box that's in the shape of a dresser! It's super cute because it has a bunch of drawers and even a rotating hanger :D I remember seeing a whole bunch at J.C. Penny at the fashion jewelry (not fine jewlery) section, so I think I'll buy another when I run out of room

    8. I store all of my doll stuff in a computor bag, it has tonz of zipper poutches and stuff. I still dont have verry much stuff for her yet so its all good.

      AND because it's meant for a computor, its lined with a cushion-y thing so it wont get damaged = safe for traveling! And she fits in it perfectly!

    9. Im ashamed to say it, but I put all my doll clothes in huge Ziploc bags. Its not very esthetic, I must say.... I plan to do better in a near future :sweat (Like its that difficult to find a decent box....)

      For my wigs; they are stocked in a baby shoes box. :)

    10. I store them in a plastic container. :)

    11. I use clear plastic storage boxes of various sizes that have lids. That way I can see what is in the box, and the lids keep out the dust. Right now I have a wig box, a shoe box, and a clothes box. I guess as my collection grows I will have to get more storage boxes and divide the stuff by size. Right now the boxes are sitting on shelves in my craft room.

    12. I actually use plastic ziploc bags that I have labeled with certain things in each bag.. Then put them in one of my Blueblood boys box that they came in. same with all the wigs and extra eyes, then my three sit on them, when they are closed. a bit conservative on space right now.. Trying not to have everything every where right now! XD

    13. I put my doll shoes in the plastic boxes that have the dividers in them and their clothes in decorative boxes. I wish I could come up with something even better because things always end up in chaos.

    14. I use two drawers. One for wigs and shoes and one for clothing. Surprisingly, I'm running out of space.

    15. I had mine in a drawer in a side table but it got far too jammed up after I got more than one doll. Now I've moved all clothes and accessories to a trunk that also functions as my coffee table :)

    16. My doll clothing is stuffed in a drawer at the moment... TOTAL disorganization!

    17. This is such a great thread! I use vintage suitcases for a lot of stuff, like doll parts and accessories. I keep my extra parts in an old toiletry/overnight bag. That way they're decorative and useful and have pockets for small items. But, for all the other clothes and shoes live in an armoire that I put an extra (curtain) rod and small shelf in. I opened up a couple of wooden American Girl doll trunks and put them along the bottom of the armoire. The bottom drawer is for stands and long doll outfits that are too long.

    20. How perfectly dolly sized! Lauve this! :aheartbea
      I like how you even have a jewelry hanger for everything on the door. <3

      edit/
      I keep everything stored in plastic bags, sorted like this:

      * Dark MSD clothes
      * Light MSD clothes
      * Dark SD clothes
      * Light SD clothes
      * Yo-SD clothes
      * Shoes
      * Jewelry/scarves/accessories
      * Props
      * Wigs
      * LE Outfits

      Which are then put into a tote bag and zipped up to keep light out. :3

      And eyes, faceup supplies, and misc tools I keep in an awesome wooden artist's box! Yay! <3
