1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Dec 16, 2004

    1. I have plastic craft bins for their clothing which is also what I use for storing my embroidery, fabric, and so on.

    2. I store my dolls clothes in a large box. This box is decorative, so I'm able to keep out in the open with out worrying about it cluttering my apartment or look like an ugly knicknack.
I recommend this for most doll owners. It easy to fold the clothes in, keeps them dust free, and available for the owner's to reach them.

    3. Boxes and drawers are the way I go. :D

    4. I've just read through 85% of this thread and I'm getting the impression that I have way too much stuff for my doll peeps. Then moderation and I are strangers when it comes to my resin beauties. :aheartbea

      My storage solutions:

16 large Artbin cases for accessories, weapons, jewerly, wigs and shoes
1 human size rolling wardrobe closet (stuffed full) with three bars (jury rigged) to hang things on and the bottom is piled high with DH boxes
1 Oak 1/3 sized wardrobe for my vampire's clothes (he no like sharing)
1 very large white wardrobe (made for 18 doll) with drawers, shelves and a hanging bar stuffed full of their new things that have to be classified and put up

;) I think I'll go play with me dollies.

    5. Holy crap. :o

Haha... I feel bad. I just stuff it all in one big bag. xD

    6. I keep outfits in the dolls original box, this way I know who has enough outfits and who needs more. Shoes are usually shared amoung the outfits.

    7. I took over my brother's old nightstand, which is just like a square box with sliding doors. Within it I have a little plastic chest-of-drawers for some things, and a couple shoe boxes. I also have two wire-frame boxes with plastic sides that my mother got me and I use those for storing clothes and wigs in their bags. They are handy.

And on top of the dresser is the doll clothes chest I made with my dad to keep some of the stuff out of the way, but it's not as useful as I had hoped it would be. It's too tall, and the dowel inside for hanging clothes is too big for the hangers. They practically snap onto it and hang very tightly. It was a good idea at the start, but if you make a little cabinet for storing doll clothes, make sure your dowel rod is small enough for your hangers. : P

When I'm at school I just bring one box of things. Things at home are more spread out than they have to be. I can fit it all into one box or two. It's just not as organized and that drives me bonkers! (:

    8. my boy is new and has not much clothes right now so I still keep it with shoes and wigs in the drawer of a table (where I study), with books and stuffs XD

but there's some kind of tiny hanger for doll clothes right? saw somewhere

    9. I found a jewerly box shaped like a bureau at a flea market that's the perfect size for an MSD. I keep Adelheid's clothes in there. ^_^

    10. I used to just cram them in plastic storage drawers, but I recently upended a bookshelf and turned it over on its side to make a space where all my guys and gals could hang out together. One of the unexpected surprises is that one of the now-sideways shelves is the perfect side for a doll closet.

I drilled some holes for a curtain rod, picked up some doll-sized hangers for cheap from a craft store and even made a separate rack to hold wigs in their bags. I'm now working on more shelves for other items.

    11. I bought a large makeup case/organizer that is long enough to put my tiny in and wide enough for two tinies and the bottom area deep enough not to touch her face. It has four fold open trays above the bottom area. For right now her few outfits, and two of her wigs are in there. She has a seat with drawers I've stowed her dolls and other toys in. Also her hair clips go in there. Her seat sits usually on a bookshelf in the hall, along with her bed. The case sits on the floor next to the shelf.

    12. I actually have a 1/3 size old wooden cupboard for Alex's stuff, which sits on his shelf in the living room with his other furniture, and was a surprise find in a charity shop. Only cost me about £3. It has double doors at the top, with a shelf inside, and at the bottom, a generous drawer. It (currently, but not for much longer) fits all his clothes, shoes, a tiny jewellery box, and all his small accessories like his rubick's cube, wiimote, mug, ect. All his bigger/more random things I keep in little rattan boxes out of the way upstairs.
I'm currently looking out for a scale wooden trunk, cos his shoe collection is just about to grow, and if I'm honest I'm a bit of a tiny furniture freak. XD

    13. I got a 3 stack of sliding sterilite draws from Walmart and they are nice and deep. My wigs & eyes are stored in the middle, doll crafting tools in the bottom and clothing/shoes up top.
Unfortunately.. they are now all full and I need another stack :sweat

(I do keep my clothing in ziploc bags though, and my wigs in nets and the eyes in protective cases inside the drawers.)

    14. I keep my little *ahem* collection in a plastic box and the wigs on polystyrene balls with a chopstick into the bottom so I can make them stand up, if that makes sense!!
It helps to keep them straight and not get tangles in
      :) :)

    15. My Jake doesn't have alot of clothes right now (that'll change!) so it all fits into a giant teacup I bought from a garden centre (it's a flower-pot, but I wanted it for my dolls).

    16. Aye, I've got a terrible setup right now... I have a regular hardware storage box (a plastic one with a handle) that I throw everything in. Wigs, eyes, jewelry, clothes - the whole nine yards, all piled up in one box. XD; Bad me. I need to find a nice jewelry box to put everything in.

    17. Right now I am using a shoe box, but I found wooden hangers sd sized and am going to hang the clothes in part of my closet on dowel rods one under the next.

    18. I use a 28 quart plastic container and it's about 95% full. I was so sure back when I bought it that it would have plenty of room...*_*

    19. I bought a set of two Sterilite containers at Wallyworld for $3.50 for my dollies' stuff. They are bigger than shoe boxes- one equals about one and a half shoe boxes, I'd say. They have pretty pink lids (I have all girls) that snap tight. I started to run out of space in the mini chest of drawers I have. Now I use the chest for wigs and small accessories. I think I will have to go get some more of the containers soon, though. For $3.50 I should have bought a few sets.
