1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Dec 16, 2004

    1. ya know those super deluxe makeup kits that fold out and have a nice buckle on them and everything? (like luggage for your makeup) i went through a super "girly" phase and received alot of those during that period of time, i gutted the insides of them and now they hold tons of dolly clothes.
for wigs i have this clear craft "brief case" (for art supplies) and fr the left over trinkets i have small boxes to store it all in. i do plan to get some stackable drawers in the future. but for now, these work fine.

    2. Currently, I'm using the cardboard box that my Dollmore order came in. XD
I didn't ever really think about storing their things before, but I think I'd like a better box... It wouldn't make too much difference though, I'm a messy person so most of their hairclips and things are strewn across my bedroom. D:

    3. I dont have many clothes for my dolls, but the clothes i have are in
a open box, i think i will buy a box wich i can close

    4. ... I just kinda shove everything into a plastic container from wal-mart... I make all the clothes aside from the uniforms though, so it doesn't really hurt 'em, and I'm planning to get a little doll sized iron one of these days XD
But I honestly can't afford fancy pants dressers and things, and since they're just doll's clothes, I see no reason to have to, so I figured I'd get a larger plastic container when they outgrew the current one... better start looking this weekend actually...

    5. I fold them up, place them in their original plastic coverings and put them in a suitcase underneath my bed. In reality I really want to buy one of those plastic dressers with lids, but I don't really have the room for it :/
The suitcase is filling up since I keep all the wigs and shoes in there as well. *sigh*

    6. I should have thought of how I was going to keep track of my dolls' outfit parts. I feel so bad about having had everything together for so long, then messing it up because they're too thin for Barbie, and finding myself in the predicament of "hey, where'd that sock go?!"

    7. I keep most of the clothes in a couple of large sturdy boxes. Chae-ri's wardrobe is tucked into the pockets of a large craft bag, along with her wigs (in plastic bags) and her shoes (in a small jewelry box).

    8. Thanks for everyone's replies! :D
If anyone does make any storage... thingies... I'd be really happy to see them!
I think I'd better get some wire and pliers out and start making some hangers too :S

    9. when I have a few outfits, made and / or purchased, I will Make, or have made, a custom fit wardrobe for them to hang in. The outfits will be protected with a cotton cover.
When I make them, I was thinking of making the outfits in strong everyday material that will be very durable. They will give a new dimension to the doll.

    10. Last time, I kept clothes in some shelf-thingies I've made and I hanged some on hangers that my dad made for me. But recently, I moved them to diff plastic containers, with different labels like shirts, pants, accesories, socks which helps me enormously when searching for clothes XD And I keep wigs/shoes on a metal shelf-thingy[sorry, dont know the name] which basically has three uh... layers? XD These resin sure are sucking up alot of space! ;3

    11. I bought several big boxes and put the clothes inside.
Before putting them into the boxes, I will use plastic bags to pack them well.

    12. Dang, this talk of storing clothes makes me want to learn a little bit of carpentry so I can make my future dolls some closets to put their stuff in. XD;; I wonder how well cedar would work for that...

    13. I have two little plastic desk organizers that have three drawers each. I got some alphabet stickers and stuck the names of my boys on the front of the drawers and I store all their clothes/ accesories in their respective drawers. I have one bjd-size wooden chest of drawers, but I only put some of their clothes in there if I'm using it for a photoshoot or something.

    14. I converted a decorative box from JoAnn's into a wardrobe, but it's already full, so then I also took a spring-loaded curtain rod and put it inside the cupboard of the shelf unit that holds the wardrobe and other doll furniture. Now I need to make up some skirt and pants hangers...

    15. That looks nice :D

I just keep their clothes in the box of one of my dolls. Everything together, makes it less easy to lose things. But yeah, it's not that they have so much more clothes than the actually wear :p

    16. so far I have a bunch of odd size boxes. One holds mostly wigs, shoes, and fabric for future clothing. The others are a mish mosh of eye lashes, aerosol cans, and shopping baggies of trims, bits, and findings. I'm trying to make some storage furniture to hold the weird bits, but the furniture needs display space, not just stack it and forget it space.

    17. in a watch box my friend had, its the perfect size and good for traveling too :)

    18. I have two plastic containers (with locking lids) that I store things in. One is mostly devoted to clothes/shoes/accessories, and the other holds supplies like wig brush, extra eyes, hemostat, etc. I'd kind of like to invest in a little dresser to store everything in, but for now the containers work okay.

    19. I have a feeling my Johny (doll) is going to take over one of my drawers in my dresser when I get him. I also have a drawer-less section under the top drawer he will probably commandeer as well. I need to clear that out for him. xD
