1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Dec 16, 2004

    1. I keep small pieces in zip-lock bags and store them along with doll clothes in drawers .

    2. I currently have my doll's clothes stored in plastic storage containers*, but for when I get things more organised I have a load of mini coathangers to store her dresses on.

*And my own clothes too come to think about it, so I guess I'm treating her as an equal :sweat

    3. I put [most of] mine into plastic bags - either the ones that they originally came in, or zip-locks - and then into one of several large "classic" hat cases wit handles on them, for easy trasport to meet-ups.

I am *way* more careful of taking care of Talia's wardrobe than my own! :) Maybe that's because hers cost twice as much as mine!

    4. As I said, really regretting not thinking of this myself.

My dolls only could wear the outfits they came in because I didn't feel right to swap outfits between the two of them. I've tried other doll clothes around my room, like Barbie, but they were too small for Barbie! And their outfits are small because so are they, and some components I didn't think were so important to have on all the time - like shoes. And I'd always put them by my bed, and now stuff is missing. No cats allowed in my room, either.

I wish I'd have gotten some sort of plastic baggie to chuck everything into, so that if I lost it, I'd find everything when I'd found it.

    5. debapple, that wardrobe is precious! LOVE!!!:D There used to be a JoAnn's in the mall near me, but it left, but it was a great store.

    6. Right now, they're in plastic bags inside of closed boxes.

    7. Originally I kind of just had all of my doll stuff in shoeboxes, but I found these adorable SD sized dressers at a hobby lobby. So I sanded and painted those and now all of my boys stuff is in drawers. I'm also working on building a rotating closet for some of his more expensive outfits~

    8. Thanks; actually, Glisse tidied up before the shoot; she's really quite messy usually.

I couldn't survive without JoAnn's, altho I've lately taken a much more critical eye to my own old clothes for fabric. But the notions and crafty stuff, oh my!

    9. I just put it in the plastic storage ...

    10. I just keep all of my dolls clothes in the boxes they arrive in. :)
That way I can keep track of all the clothes and they are all in one place.

    11. I store the clothes of nine of my ten large BJD in a big wooden trunk. I fold them and separate them in groups by type of clothes and character. I only keep the clothes of one of the large girls in a different place, a golden box. My two medium size BJD have their own in two small wooden trunks. Shoes, wigs and other different accesories stay in other boxes.

For my MSD size dresses I made little closets from foamcore board covered with contact paper. They fit on shelves in the walkin closet in my doll/sewing room.

    13. Awww Gail that's really cute!

As for me, right now my girl's things are in one of those see-through plastic boxes with sections in it. It works fine, as my Pukifee is small and wears small clothes :)... In the future I think they'll get their own drawer in my hobby-room.

And I have a SD-girl on my wishlist, if I ever get her her clothes will definitely not fit into these boxes, so I have to find a solution then... This thread is really inspiring for that cause! :)

    14. I just recently cleared out all of the old stuff that was filling up one of the drawers in my dresser to make way for all of the dolly things that I've been buying. And she's not even here yet!

    15. In plastic bags, inside a box, on a shelf. Better safe than sorry.. or more like better safe than cat hair..

    16. My footrest is hollow inside...so I keep my doll-stuff in there organized by size (and some other criteria) in ziploc bags. Unfortunately they are slowly starting to outgrow the footrest...I would make use of my doll-boxes, but the tinies' boxes are actually inside the big ones...:sweat

    17. I keep them in one of these floral vintage-looking cardboard suitcases you can find at the craft stores.

    18. I'm packing up to go to college, so right now both my boys' stuff is crammed into this box:

(Ignore the OT Living Dead doll.)

Luckily, they didn't have much to begin with. Before this, I had Nika's stuff in this beautiful jewlery box with drawers. But I can't take it with me, so they get this instead. I'm going to get Tarrant his own before I leave though.

    19. Since I am giving my older non-bjd dolls and clothes to my younger cousins I packed them in a pink suitcase on wheels. The outfits are in clear, easy to seal bags so the shoes and small accessories can be easily seen and stored, especially for the younger doll lovers. and their Mom appreciated the ease of transport! I am hoping to get a small cedar chest for my dolls and their wardrobes.

    20. I have a couple of antique chests I cleaned out to store my boys clothes and props in. I also have cute storage boxes for my smaller girls. I have a cute vintage style metal case with vanity, and drawers for my one girl and an American girl castle wardrobe for my other girl. My smaller ones get train cases, and the tinies have cute gift boxes. They have many storage solutions and locations throughout my home - as this is their home too ^_^
