1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your doll's clothes and shoes?

Dec 16, 2004

    1. I have two small, antique Japanese tansu (chest-of-drawers) that I had originally hoped would hold all my kids' clothes, wigs and shoes, but they quickly outgrew them. I now have two doll boxes under the bed filled with clothes and various little boxes and chests here and there. We're hoping to move to a bigger place soon and I have insisted that I want a small room just for my dolls, so I will be able to do a more logical storage system there.

    2. o-o; I was at an antique fair today, and noticed some doll chests. Mentioned them, and my mom suggested using some of the trunks we have at home for my doll's clothing. So... Right now, most of my girl's things are in an old suitcase, tucked under my bed.

    3. Big Rubbermaid tupperware things. I'd actually like to get the rolly drawers to be more organized, but I just don't have the room. I just store the tupperwares on top of my doll house.

    4. Wah. ^_^ Aimee's plastic containers are a good idea for me too.. I kept looking for "fancier" things, when I think that'll do the trick.. at this point, the doll's stuff is being kept in one small chest that we got when Namie was the one-and-only, and otherwise shoved into a bag from AnimeFest. o.o Eyes and wigs are in Kyohei's box... and.. yeah. It's a huge mess. There's doll clothes all over the darn house at this point. ^_^

I'll be making a trip to Target tomorrow.... @_@

    5. I keep my doll things in a large hat box :D

    6. I got stuff for storage by accident, my mom got as a make up gift from a department store this set of three hat box like boxes. She gave them to me and now I put my dolls stuff in their. Then I store it under my bed.

    7. I keep my Sonya clothes in a people-shoes' box ( I just kept one more pretty box after buying my shoes) I sew my doll clothes by my own so I don't really care of them ;) I always can sew the same outfit if the older one destroys ;) But I care for her original shoes, wigs etc - I keep them in a wooden box :) I'm dreaming of buying my Sonya a wardrobe but bjd furniture is so expensive ...

    8. they are in the doll boxes? lol probbly gonna get a set of drawers :D

    9. I also have the 4 drawer with rolling wheels like Aimee. I keep my clothes sorted by size, then shoes and then wigs. Even it is Overflowing!!!!!!!:(

    10. For Christmas, I got a cute little thing with these multicolored canvas "drawers." It's about three feet tall, and it's really cute.

    11. I keep mine in containers...however they have nowhere to sit...and they're semi full...and some clothes are scattered around in my room.

    12. I keep the kids' clothes in a small antique trunk, their shoes and socks in a large printed hat box I got at Michael's, and their wigs in a smaller matching hatbox. That way, if I'm looking for something in particular, I know where to look, and everything is safe from the cat!!

    13. Best solution yet!
      Here here!

    14. I bought a couple of embossed leather trunks at Tuesday Morning. A bit more than I wanted to pay, but they're useful for display in the room and not un-handsome. Of course, the main bits are in the Target rolling thingies in the closet, along with art supplies & sewing stuff.

    15. when i first got my boy he had very little to wear, but now that i've had time to make him some more clothes i've run into the issue of... where to keep the clothes?

i've emptied out an old mini-ceater chest that i got as a christmas present some years back to fill with clothes for him. but i'm just currious as to where others keep their doll's clothes. how careful with them are you? do you wash them?

    16. I use great big rubbermaid bins. I bag each outfit in a large ziplock, mark who it's for and throw it in the bin. I have a bin for my mini sized dolls and one really big one for my larger ones. The one for the big dolls is seriously overflowing though, so it might be time for me to have a sale, or get a second bin.

    17. i keep my boy's clothes and some of his smaller acessories in his luts blue box that he arrived in ^_^

    18. Right now Shou only has a few articles of clothing, so what he isn't wearing just goes in a drawer with the rest of his stuff.

      I wash them when they get dirty, but mostly they just get covered in cat hair (I live with 7 fat cats), so he gets the traditional tape bath a lot XD;;

    19. I keep them in chocolate boxes with the little plastic trays removed >.< I keep meaning to go and buy a proper little wooden chest - I've gone and looked at them loads of times - but I've just never got around to it.
