1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you store your dolls day to day? XxX

Dec 21, 2015

    1. I have mine in a cabinet with glass door, so I can look at them when I'm in the living room. They're in the shade out of sunlight and slightly protected from dust (there's a little crack between door and frame, so air and dust comes in from there).
Since I'm afraid of staining, they mostly in light underwear until I dress them for taking pictures.

    2. I have a cabinet with glass doors from IKEA where all of our dolls (24 mostly SDs!) hang out on stands. I cover it with a thick blanket when I'm not home or admiring them to block out unnecessary light.

It keeps one of our cats away from them when we can't supervise--she likes to chew and I wouldn't want her to swallow resin or damage them.

    3. When I got my first doll like 15 years ago I didn't know much about yellowing and for a while the best place to display my doll was near a window. Thankfully she yellowed evenly and isn't the color of a ripe banana so yellowing is not too big a deal for me, but I do keep my dolls out of the sun and extreme temps these days. My room is a converted attic with a window in the closet and a window at the far end of the room with heavy curtains cause I like to sleep in when I can. I just finished creating a space to display my dolls and their stuff. Its a bookshelf turned on its side and 4 shelves with squares for 8 cloth boxes underneath for storage. There is plenty of room for storage and display, though it still needs work.

    4. I keep my Yo-SD on a doll stand on my desk, but once I get my SD I'll have him seated because I'm scared he'll topple over. SDs are so tall and heavy.

    5. Today I bought a glass cabinet for my first doll! The cabinet is in excellent condition and is a charity shop gem. It seems an ideal way to protect our cat from any hazards and it will hopefully help the doll to be dust free. A lock on the doors will prove essential as our cat loves to explore!! Will avoid putting the cabinet in direct sunlight and maybe use a cover on it during the day? There are some really good hints in this thread. Thanks for sharing.

    6. I keep my SD in my wardrobe since it has doors and shelving (thankfully the cat can't get to the top one). I just got a glass display case tho so I have to find a good place for that so I can keep him out more!

    7. I keep the majority of my dolls out as i need to interact with them to enjoy them in the main. Mine sit in the bedroom on the darkest side of the room. I am not concerned about the yellowing as i don't buy them for the resale value and if they do yellow at all it would be minor and even, as i rotate them around on my shelf and little chair for variety. If i collected on a large scale i would probably put them in a cabinet as dusting and the risk of knocking them over would become an issue. My current plans are to limit my collection to ten dolls at most so hopefully i wont outgrow the space i currently have for them.

    8. I have two or three on display, and the rest are in their boxes in a dark room. It looks like the coffins in a church crypt. I'm in the process of making fancy name plates to go on the ends of the boxes for quick identification.

    9. I want to get a nice shelf system for my dolls. So I can make them little bed rooms and things. I want them to look more like "friends" than dolls.

    10. Personally, I keep my girl in her box to protect her and when I get home, I put her clothes and wig on and enjoy her company.

    11. I don't store them away, they're all out in my room. Almost all my dolls are on shelves except for my SDs, they stand on their boxes and the boxes are supported by my bed and the wall...in other words, I sleep next to them^^ it's also a great way to save space.

    12. I have my dolls sitting on their furniture in one of my bookshelves. They are not exposed to direct sunlight, but during the day, they do see natural daylight. I haven't noticed any yellowing on them, but if there is, it has been very little and even.

    13. Most of my dolls sit in a glass display cabinet. I made a little curtain to keep the light out and I just open it when I want to see them.

    14. I'm loving all these pictures of people's collections in this thread! For me, my doll will be kept in a latched box, a chest coincidentally similar to the ones the BJDs in the anime Rozen Maiden are stored. I plan on getting stands and a glass display cabinet if I can find an affordably priced one around though.

    15. All my dolls are in a glass fronted shaded cabinet. They have the top shelf to themselves at present, but will need to spread out in the next few months!

    16. My dolls reside in their boxes in a spare bedroom at the moment. I get them out once in a while to stare and admire them. It doesn't help that none of them have a decent set of clothing besides my Pukifee Ante. I can't have naked dolls taking over the house now, can I? I promised myself that I'd find a doll someday that won't have to return to her/his box after playtime. So now I'm working hard to get over my perfectionistic tendencies. I want to enjoy my dolls out in the open but at the moment I would go crazy if I noticed yellowing, dust or any other imperfections. Shame on me.

    17. I have a walk in closet with shelving that I use as my doll space. My dolls are kept in their boxes if I'm not playing with them, but a few favorites are usually on display so I can redress and admire them.

    18. There's like a little cutout in the wall above my desk that creates a display shelf, and I keep my dolls there. They sit on the wall with their legs hanging down, it's very cute. Although I'd like to get some little chairs or some type of furniture for them. I have dark blinds so sunlight isn't really an issue.

    19. Yellowing has never bothered me. But my dolls are kept around the corner from where direct light is. They sit out on a doll chair or up in my hanging shelf box. I also have dolly sleeping bag things but I use them for transporting rather than just for sitting down. I want to be able to see my dolls, so I like them out.

    20. My guy stays in his carrying case most of the time. I feel bad and I'd like to see him on a more regular basis, but I'm really careful about him yellowing. :(
