Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. How do you store your dolls day to day? XxX

Dec 21, 2015

    1. I don't store mine really. All of mine tend to migrate around the house on a regular basis. ^-^' Anywhere is usually fair game for me, so long as it's not in direct sunlight.

    2. My larger dolls are stored in the box they came with or in the carrying bag, and my MSD and yosd are usually siting on my table or book shelves away from the sunlight.

    3. My doll just stays at box, I only bring it out when I'm playing, but thats maybe because I have only one doll at this moment.

    4. Mine stay in an accessible wooden box. I made it nice and cozy in there.

    5. I have an L-shaped room so theyre sitting on shelves in the dark part of it, out of sunlight. There are usually a few tinies hanging out in other parts of my room, but I keep the curtains closed most of the time.

    6. I keep most of my dolls on a book shelf in the corner of my room furthest from the window. The window has really heavy blinds and curtains, so they hardly ever get any light, which is super convenient as I had moved into the place years before I'd even known about BJDs. But my 70cm stays in a cupboard because he doesn't fit on the shelf and I've taken to putting my white skin SD doll in with him because I think white skins yellow faster, so during the day he's practically in the dark. I know it might not make any difference in the long run, but it's mostly peace of mind.

The dolls out on the shelf are next to my bed, so it makes me happy to see them there before I got to bed and then again when I wake up.

    7. i just keep mine on my desk where i work, it keeps my mind from worrying about where they are,lol

    8. My 2 MSD and my only Yo-SD are always sitting in the glass cabinet in my room along with other non-BJD dolls.
I don't know what will I do when more come home because I there is not much space left xD

    9. I have limited space and Idiot Cat which means all my dolls live in their boxes 99% of the time. I wish I had display space for them all (I have 35), but sadly, that's not an option. I could move some collectibles from the entertainment unit in the living room (which has glass doors making it cat-proof) which could hold about a dozen dolls in the MSD/tiny ranges but sunlight shines on that side of the living room for easily half the day making that a no-go.

I do take them out, mostly when I'm making something for one of them, and I bring one or two to work on a fairly regular basis, but I wish I was able to display them in my house to be able to enjoy them more.

    10. I'll like to have my dolls out but I live in a earthquake-prone area so I have to store them away. The humidity here is also pretty bad so everything needs to be kept in plastic boxes. They all live in a doll room which no one else goes into because my parents get upset when they see my doll stuff and are reminded of 'how much money I wasted'. I dehumidfy the doll room every time the humidity goes over 70%. I've just recently sat through a magnitude 5 earthquake and even though a few things fell, my doll room was fine. All except the living room diorama I recently finished. Nothing broke but this has me more determined to put EVERYTHING away instead of leaving them out.

    11. I have a 5 tier shelf I use to store stuff, and I keep one of those shelves just for doll stuff. Gives them a nice display area. Whenever I'm sewing something for my bjd, I keep her in a doll rocking chair on the desk next to me while I work. Makes it easier to check measurements as I go.

    12. So far I only have 4 but I couldn't see keeping them packed away in their boxes. I love looking at them, interacting with them and just having them there to play with when the mood strikes. I have their original boxes and packing items stored neatly away. I don't ever intend to sell or trade a doll but those boxes were part of their journey to come home :).They sit on a desk in my bedroom, I have heavy wooden blinds and black out curtains over the only window in the room. Which is kind of over kill because the only sun for that room is early morning sun for about 2 hours.

    13. I had everyone sitting on their own little display table downstairs for a while, but I've ended up tidying my little closet under the stairs so they can have their own shelf. Plus they're completely away from the sun now : D. The floating heads are all kept in drawers though, I don't want them yellowing before they get bodies after all.

    14. I don't really store my dolls. They sit in my big desk, out of sunlight of course. It is the safest plave for them, as I live in student accommodation, and I always lock my door if I am not in my room. My desk is really wide, so they can't fall or anything. I wish to have a nice cabinet later when I have my own place.

    15. My dolls have a firm place in Form of a low cupboard to sit on, but I store floating heads in their boxes, because I prefer to show off my somewhat finished krews
My room barely gets any direct sunlight, and if, it's out of my guys way~

    16. i keep my dolls in my livingroom
my livingroom has 3 different themes (worlds) : life, death and heaven/spirit world.
so every doll has a special place to 'live' ^^
for me dolls are also pieces of art. and i think that they need to be seen by people... don't really care about the sunlight.

    17. I have them in 3 rooms. I store my dolls in their boxes, in a cabinet, in 2 closets, displayed in 2 rooms, on shelves. I have bjd everywhere! I have many stacking up on my floor like a tower in my hobby room. Many blank dolls stored in boxes as well as finished. Storage is a problem for me. Especially from I only have SD dolls. I have 3 storage boxes for all my SD heads. I am getting overwhelmed with bjd everywhere and I am getting at least 20 SD dolls as gifts for this year. It sounds depressing I know. Some dolls are being forgotten because I have them in storage in a closet I never opened in a year. I want to seperate discontinued or limited dolls and heads from my dolls that are more current. Any storage advice or a compact way to put most dolls together? I don't know what to do. Storage has always been an issue with me but this is how I store my dolls for now.

    18. I have a bar stool that my guys sit on since I need a new bookshelf. Sometimes if I need to move them out of the way I will put them back in their boxes but I don't like storing them. I make sure that they aren't going to get too dirty and I dust them frequently so I think that displaying them all the time is a good set up.

    19. I have a shelf over my table. My girl sits on it behind my laptop. When I look away from computer screen I see her smiling face :fangirl: I do not let direct sunlight to reach her, but I do not hide her either. It is imposible to run away from yellowing, and I got her to enjoy her, not to hide her away.

    20. I've been really curious about this recently! As I am new to bjds (and ever terrified of any harm coming to my doll) I've mostly left my girl in her box when I'm not playing with her. But lately I've felt bad keeping her stored away for so long, so I'm considering keeping her out in my room, on her little parlor sofa ^^ However, she's only 19cm and I have an Iplehouse EID boy who should be coming fairly soon and I have no clue as to where he'll be staying when I'm not playing with him... :/
