1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dec 21, 2015

    1. Excuse this post if its been done before!

I was just wondering where you guys have your dolls and where do they hang out/are displayed. I'd love to see pictures of your dioramas and houses! Or even if you just have a dolly shelf id love to see that too!!!

    2. Cute question!:)
My doll isn't here yet but I made him a little bed/sofa so he can cuddle in there^^

    3. Well my girl hangs out with me in the lounge. Watching TV, listening to music, sat right next to me. I'd like to make a doll specific area at some point but she's only lived with me for a few weeks and I'm just getting used to having her around. I leave her here when I go to bed though, I'd be worried about damage.

    4. I have a spare bedroom that has become the doll room. My crew hangs out in various room dioramas most of the time, but sometimes I have one sitting with me while I see or watch tv or play online.

    5. I currently keep mine in my big closet. My husband has talked about putting up shelves in our room so I can keep them out, but there really isn't a good spot in our room where sunlight wouldn't get to them. We have a game room also that doesn't get as much sun, so maybe someday we'll put up shelving in there for them. Until then though they will live in my walk in closet where there are no windows and no evil sun lol.

    6. I currently have very little room, so unfortunately my dollies go back in their boxes when not being played with. I take them out regularly though! And I love them soooo much! They get their own section of the room when I move into the new place!

    7. mine are in my bedroom next to my bed - on a row of dining chairs with a fleece throw on - I do have to ensure that none of them are looking at me in bed though LOL - would be too creepy! I don't open the curtains on this window in the bedroom, as it's South facing, so they're never in the sun here - otherwise I'd have them in the living room, but that's a very sunny room.

    8. I have a dresser in my bedroom that is maybe five feet long and two feet deep. It's got chairs, sofas and doll stands holding most of the collection. I have a similar setup in my living room on a slightly smaller surface holding another 10 dolls. I am pretty lucky to have landed some great doll furniture, it makes for nice diorama setups.

    9. I'm working on making a little display for her! I'm getting a clear plastic goblet and fill it up with fake sweets for her to chill in

    10. Since I only have a few right now, they just sit on a 1/4 scale wooden bench in my office/rabbit room. In the future when we move into a bigger place, I would like a table or shelf for them.

    11. Right now they are all in their boxes because I'm selling them, but I know what I'm doing with my new doll that's coming. I don't have my new doll yet but when I do, she will stay with me on my desk as I work, when I'm away she will stay in her little room (that I made in a closed cabinet) so she is out of the sun, and at night I'll put her in her box.

    12. I keep my dolls stored in their boxes in a closet. We have cats and they like to knock things off of shelves!

    13. There is this windowless alcove in my room and my dolls are sitting on my computer table there. There are also drapes in front of the entrance just in case. :)

    14. Right now I can't do much with my doll since I only live at home for around 4 months a year. She's mostly kept in the box she came in, since I can't do much with her at the moment. I'm also a nervous first time BJD owner so I'd like to keep her safe from dust, stains, and sunlight.

    15. Same, I have my first doll and I am so paranoid! When I'm not home/at night, my girl stays in her box with a little flannel blanket (sometimes it feels like putting a child to bed at night). During the day when I am home, she's usually sitting somewhere near me. I'd try to find a place to put her when I'm not home that isn't her box, but quite frankly, I live with my grandma (who I don't want asking questions about how much she cost) and my cat (who I worry might knock her down if I left her unsupervised). Within the next year or so when I get my own place, I'll probably leave a desk empty for her to hand out on and put furniture there for her, but until then...

    16. I use to be super, superrrrrr anal about how I stored my dolls and I was terrified of all my precious, expensive dolls yellowing. I had blackout curtains over my windows, and would put them all away in a dark dresser. When I open that thing man! I still small resin fumes! XD

At some point though I just stopped taking them out as life got too hectic and I couldn't really justify putting more money into this hobby. So I stopped enjoying them.

Eventually I took a few of them out and just sat them on a metal shelf away from the window, and I took down the blackout curtains. All is still well and hurray for progress, lol!
I'd love for someday to have a more bjd specific area for them -- with in scale chairs and decorations. All that jazz.

    17. I used to pack mine away in his carry case every night or days I wouldnt be able to 'play' with them, when I first got him out of paranoia about damaging him, but now they just kinda sit wherever I'm sitting haha~

    18. Mine are all in a large cabinet with glass doors. I hang material over the front when i'm not doing something with them to decrease the light exposure.

    19. I usually keep mine sitting on a shelf in my closet, away from sunlight, or wrapped up tightly in my messenger bag to take them out with me! I find I play with them and adore them more when they're out of their boxes, so I usually keep them on the shelf.

    20. It's interesting to see how everyone stores their dolls!

At the moment I only have one who I keep in his box until I have the space to get a glass cabinet, then I plan on making a couch that'll fit in there for him and his future friends! I'm a little worried about potential damage so I feel better knowing that he's safe in his box
