1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long before you gave in?

Apr 12, 2009

    1. I was aware of BJDs for quite a while before I actually had the desire own one. It was probably about a year after I got into the little Obitsus that I bought my first resin doll.

I did not join DoA until shortly before I bought my first resin doll. Before that I was hesitant to join because of the horror stories I heard about this place......

    2. I've known about dolls for a pretty long time, probably since 2005ish? But I found out about them through another expensive hobby, and for the past decade or so most of my resources and time have been devoted to said other expensive hobby. I still haven't bought my first doll yet, but I'd like to do so soon!

    3. I found out about bjds around 2005 sometime but had to find info about them and wait two years to get one. I joined DoA about a month or two after ordering my first doll and he came home a few weeks after I joined.

    4. 3 days. I told myself to take my time looking at different companies before I decide but I could not resist and ordered a Lati.

    5. it actually took me 3 years before i bought my very first bjd. i know bjd for quite some time then but the price is prohibiting me to buy one that time lol.

    6. I've been interested in it for years. I first found it by people talking about them seeing some doll on the internet with a functional penis. So I looked them up and came across ball jointed dolls!

It's only this year that I've been able to afford one, so my first payday of 2013 I ordered one, so I won't be a doll-less member for long! :D

    7. Have been in the hobby for a few years...Took me maybe a week to be hooked...It was gaining up the courage to ask my parents that took a good two years.

With my MSD...I literally saw him got up and got my mom and asked if I could buy him in less then ten minutes. I just couldn't risk someone else snatching him up and luckily she understood...Now prior to yesterday I was intending on paying for him by working it off but my mom insisted on paying for him for me. :DDid I mention I love my ma?

    8. I have admired BJDs since I was in high school. I have started being a collector since 2010 but I only collected customized fashion dolls. I only "gave in" this year because I realized it's about time I get a lovely BJD for myself and I think I'm old enough for them. :D I'm turning 21 this year btw.

    9. as soon as my money landed in my hands. but i've been dreaming of having a doll since i was in college. :)

    10. I first saw bjd's in around 2004. I remember seeing them on ebay and then going to Volks. I thought one day I would love to own one of those dolls but with the exchange rate and everything they were well over a thousand dollars and I thought I would never own one. I went through other hobbies and rediscovered them around 2007 again. I found out there were other companies and it took me a while but I got my first BJD. Probably a good 6 or more months passed before I got my next BJD. After purchasing a few Impldolls I got asked to write a review on DOA and I replied I would love to but my membership requests haven't been answered. Well they sent me one and since then my doll collection has just sky-rocketed.

    11. I discovered bjds in 2010, and actually bought one in 2011. I didn't join any forums until early 2012, so I already had three or four by then.

    12. When I met my sister's which she got a year before I got mine at Anime North I knew I wanted one. A year later I got my chance (I wasn't aware you could get them online) and I got little Zypher. If I had the chance when my sister got hers I would have gotten it then xD so no time at all!

    13. If I haven't already posted on this: at least 5 years lol! I just couldn't afford one after going into debt, so its just taken a while to do so :3

    14. I'm still brand-new to DoA and have one resin baby and two non-resin babies. It was about a year since learning about BJDs that I was able to order mine and, honestly, my first BJD is what drove me to get my first job. XD I put back half my weekly paycheck for a few months to finally be able to order him. But from the time I saw a brag on a petsite about getting jointed hands, I'd wanted to get a BJD of my own.

    15. Bjds and fanart were among my first discoveries when I started going online, so I've known about them since maybe 2000, but bjds kinda slipped my mind for a long time. Even after meeting other owners and stuff, I never felt the need to get my own resin doll. That is, until I met my Aunt's RS Long. As soon as my next tax return came in, I ordered one for myself. Keeping doll purchases to a minimum is easier when you're constantly broke. ^_^()

    16. About a year after I first found out about BJDs I finally got one, I didn't join DOA until I had my first doll.

    17. I know bjds from 2009 and I've ordered my first in 2011, but I was actually saving for almost a year to get a realpuki (which I got in 2012)
I'm on DoA and other dolly forums from a couple of months before having a bjd (but I had some off-topic dolls)

    18. About 3 years between the time I found out about BJD and bought one . This is due to me being a student and not having enough money to buy one (im still a student now though ..) . After all a BJD is expensive and I think the first doll i saw was on DOD .

    19. Joined DoA last December and still doll-less, but it's on it's way so I shouldn't be doll-less. I think I found out about the BJD's in September or October. One of my friends showed me her dolls and I fell in love with them, but I waited until I got Christmas money to buy a doll.

    20. 2 weeks hahahah. Who can resist sweet adorable faces
