How long did you wait for your first doll??

I'm a new collector and so I haven't gotten my first doll yet but, I'm actually waiting on for the lottery for DDS Akira to finish. I entered on July 31st and it ends on August 3rd. They should be contacting the winners around the 12th? And if I do win I'll have to wait until Mid-November. > < Which is a really long time I think.

Though if I don't win I plan on customizing my own DD probably this month after finding out the results. Which really shouldn't take that long because I can just buy the parts at Volk's store. The only thing that would take a while would be the customization of the make up which should take around 2 weeks to complete ish~

 

I'm still waiting for my first...she's a custom sculpt, and it's coming up on a year now. I think she'll be worth it, though!!

 

My first doll is Alexander Allen Frost, who i got 3 months after I first saw a bjd. Luckily for me I'd gotten a summer job and I'd started looking on the second hand market as soon as I was able. As soon as I saw him I couldn't get over how much he looked like my little dark angel, Allen.
Now his character has evolved in a completely different way than I'd intended (Literally. He started off as an angel and now he's the root of all darkness haha) but I like him better this way. He even has a family now and I intend to bring out his character even more! I just have to find the right symbol for the frost family haha

 

I watched two months doll websites and then ordered my first doll. Well it arrived about 4 months after ordering. When that firstly ordered doll did come, I already had 4 dolls. After ordering, I bought week or two later second hand doll. That one I had to wait about week for her (waiting money transfering and then the meeting).

 

I waited 5 years to buy my first doll. Besides the expense, I wanted her to be perfect and she is. Glad I waited

I am waiting for my doll to arrive. It is 65 days : 45 days for her to be made + 20 days since she was shipped .. I donno which customs are holding her, but I am totally annoyed by the delay! I thought EMS are a fast service

 

I just ordered my yesterday. I would have gotten the order in the 2nd, but my bank didn't put in the money until yesterday because I put in my money after 2PM. =\
Any way, I estimated around a 65-70 day (he should come in around Oct-Nov) wait for my SD Vito Sharics to come in. Until then, I'm gonna stare at his pretty picture. :3

 

Oh Nexiuss ! vito line in SoulDoll is one of my favourites though I worry about it being so big !!

 

Do u still remember how long did you wait for your first doll?
I ordered him in August I did not get him until Feb or March. I waited 7 months. Those months where torture of me worrying he won't show up at all.

Is there any special meaning about their name?
Well his default name is Ducan. I have not changed it yet to the character he will become.

Any things special or unforgettable happened while you get them?
My mom was the one that answer the door that day. I was at school and rushing home once she told me I had a package. I told my mom do not open my package. I really open the package so slowly I was afraid I was going to break my doll.

Well, compared to the Souldoll Zenith boys, they're not too big. I'm actually looking at a 62cm doll from mint on card who has captured my heart as well. xD

 

My dolls body came first (bought the head seperately) and even though it ws just a body..I FLIPPED when he arrived I was so excited XD! He sat without a head and naked for a month and I loved him all the same XD

 

Nothing really intresting happened when I was waiting for him, I was just checking the tracking number 8 times a day -_-;

Her name doesn't really have a special meaning, I just liked the repeating name of her factory name (Tong Tong), but there was already a Tong Tong out there, so I went with LinLin instead. -Nodnod-

I was actually out of town when she arrived, but I drove home to get her. o.o I had to open her that day.

Well, it's Gwalchmei, the name of a medieval Welsh hero and companion of King Arthur. I could write an essay about it, but I guess I'd better not. Most sources suggest that the meaning is "hawk of May".

 

I was waiting for my first doll four months. It was horrible. I wanted to have her already and she still did not come. Finally it turned out that the company had long free New Year and all orders have been postponed.

 

i have been oogling BJDs since I was 15 or 16 but it was only last month at the age of 22 was I able to get one.

 

So far I've waited 7 months saving up money.

I guess it'll be another two weeks before the doll comes. =/ These two weeks seem a lot longer than the 7 months. xD

 

My first doll was a painless process of sort, mostly. I decided to buy it on April, got the money and ordered it on May, and since I bought it from a dealer that already had it on stock, it arrived in a week, spent another week on customs, and that was it. Of course, it took me other two months to order his head and made him whole, but since I had another doll head that I was using for practicing face-ups on it, I thought of it as a "(complete) BJD" from the moment I got the body. So, my first doll was a quick, pain-free issue: I decided on it on the spot and got it without actual waiting time.

...Unlike my fourth doll, which I'm currently waiting for. Hmm, it's been nine months since I ordered it, but since I paid it off on layaway, I should be counting five months only. And I don't think it'll ship until next month at the soonest, but for some reason... I'm not that bothered with the waiting. It's giving me time to plan how I'm getting him out of customs once it arrives.
