1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long did you wait for your first doll??

May 13, 2010

    1. Do u still remember how long did you wait for your first doll ? [IMG]
It took maybe two days. I was mulling and fretting over which doll to buy from a company when I got marketplace access here on DoA. I think it was my first time in the MP area when I came across my Souldoll XD I commented on the page, and saw her price reduce a few times before giving in and buying her. She arrived so quickly! I've been a fan of MP purchases ever since!

Is there any special meaning about their name??
Well she is a character of mine--whose name is special to me. Her name is Lilianne, nicknamed Red. I based her off my very good friend from Bulgaria :)

Any things special or unforgettable happened while you get them??[IMG]
Only that it arrived right before we were to heading out of town to visit my in-laws. We got in the car right when the UPS truck drove up and I flew out of the car at him. He recognizes me by now and I carried that big box in my arms for our two hour car ride and did the box opening at their house. It doesn't sound like anything special, but I remember the excitement holding that box in my hands for two hours straight, basically hugging it, imagining what my girl looked like inside.

    2. My first doll only took about a week to recieve since she was second-hand. However, the VERY first doll-related item I ordered was a doll head, which I'm still waiting on (going on 3 months now). So, I waited a week or 3+ months for my first doll, depending on how you look at it.

    3. 47 days for the first doll I sent money for. I bought her through a shady dealer who took forever to send out orders that were originally quoted to be sent out in 2-3 weeks and eventually disappeared off the face of the doll world.

For the first doll that arrived at my house, only a weekend (Friday - Monday) because I ordered from Dolls and Friends. I really miss that shop!

    4. I didn't have to wait at all. I bought mine at a con. that had ordered them so they could sell. Had never been opened or anything. My first ordered one I waited ummm 1 month, not that long. I was lucky for both I guess.

    5. I didn't wait that long for my first boy (thank gosh!), he came within 20 days or so but I had to say I logged on my account every other hour to see if there was a change of status on my boy :p But I did other stuff while waiting for him to arrive, I tried to focus on getting him nice clothes and shoes so that I would be well prepared when he arrived.

I named him Nolan. No particular reason. I was stuck on names and one day the name Nolan came up (perhaps because I'm a fan of director Christopher Nolan?).

When I first opened him up, I wasn't sure what to expect although I knew that I'd be ecstatic. I was until I saw that one of his eyeballs had fell off during shipping so instead of opening up the box with a perfectly assembled doll, one eye was gone and it took me 30 minutes to get it on right and matching with the other one. Of course now it doesn't take as long but that was my first time and I was so afraid to handle him at first. I was afraid that I'd mess up or rub away his face-up. I was afraid that I'd break him. I was afraid that if I did something wrong, he wouldn't come out with the look I wanted for him. Oh, all these worries I had...hehe. Glad I'm not like that anymore although I'm still afraid to get him dirty :p

    6. Ordered my first boy on September 10th, Confirmed on the 12th, and still waiting for him. c: Hoping he'll come soon!

    7. Mine took about 8 weeks. I ordered a Puki Puki from Fairyland through Denver Doll Emporium. It seemed like forever at the time, but some other waits have been way longer so it wasn't too bad really!

    8. Honestly, I could not wait long or get nervous because my doll came in a week! I was surprised because I had read that it took at least a month, so it was very pleasure for me, better for me! But I got nervous when I started to open the box and when I saw the doll I thought: ''oh God, how small! (it's a MSD, but I saw him little :p), how can I paint a face so small?''

Now with my second doll I notice the wait time, lol.

    9. Haha, I was lucky with my first...three

My first one was secondhand, so the seller shipped him right after I paid. He was here in 8 days (took this long because customs got him). My second was from a company that's well known for its slowness - I settled in to wait 2 months...so imagine my surprise when he shipped in 8 days! I was astounded and very happy  My third was from a company that only sells dolls that they have in hand - so again, he was shipped 1 days after I ordered.

I only experienced 'The Wait' after these three. I'm lucky that way

    10. im still saving up for a loongsoul and a glorydoll headl!
      >_<
although i could buy a glorydoll head i dont want to have to wait for a body xD
so ill wait till i get enough to buy both

    11. I've waited two years to get my first doll.

      Punchline?

      I'm still waiting. -.-

    12. Haha, I just got my first doll three days ago, I'm not sure if I'm qualified to post on this thread. XD I only had to wait about two weeks for my doll, which is amazing, I was expecting it to take two months!

    13. I've been waiting for 2 years to finally in march I'll either be buying my first from a dealer at and anime festival or ordering one.

    14. I know about BJDs for a few years, but at the time, that I discovered them, I wasn't willing to pay so much money for a doll, I just had other priorities. December 2010 at Christmas it just made click and I decided to get a Ball Jointed Doll, then only 5 days passed and I ordered Luts SSDF Cane, which is my first doll and I'm still waiting for him. :aheartbea

    15. My first doll took two days shy a month to come. At the time, that long of a wait felt like agony haha. Now I'm used to a one to two month wait all the time, and it doesn't bother me. My boyfriend helped me name him 'Atrus' after the character from Myst. Nothing unforgettable happened, but it was the first time I'd seen a doll in person before, so it was really exciting.

    16. okay strange story. I ordered my little Emily (Bobobie Pandora) from Junky Spot in November. I waited about a week for her to arrive. when she got to my house I was not allowed to have her, since she was a christmas Present. So I had to wait yet another month, but knowing she was in my house made me feel a lot better ^.^ The funny part is I don't keep her in that box anymore, she spent over two months in a box and never again will she be.

    17. If my doll haven't arrived in the end of April I have waited for 4 months *_* I have no idea whats going on.

    18. i waited alost 2 monthes for Basil to arive! awfully long wait!

    19. I just pre-ordered my first Puki Fee Ante with an 8-10 weeks, and 6 days later, the company emailed me saying they got an extra in!! She should be here in a few more days!! Hooray!

    20. I'm still waiting! It's been 40 days. ;_; I expect her by the end of the month ... I can't wait till she comes home! I'm still debating between two names so hopefully these extra 10 days will narrow it down. Although I have a strong feeling I'll make up my mind when I actually hold her. ^_^ But the wait is horrible ...
