1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long did you wait for your first doll??

May 13, 2010

    1. I was just looking at her while checking my order status! She's adorable :3
      -In reply to mandydake (Sorry ... new to the site ;_; )

    2. Oh, I definitely remember getting my first doll. I was so nervous he'd be held up in customs and when he stopped update for 48 hours I panicked. Then, the next day, there he was... unfortunately I was out of town when he arrived and the post office had closed for lunch, so I had to wait 2 hours to go back and get him. XD He was also naked for another week because his clothes were from a different company, and they hadn't shipped them out yet. I also took him to a friend's house for his de-boxing... yeah, it was a lot of fun. ^_^

    3. I waited alost 3 monthes.

    4. Only two months, which in the world of BJDs really isn't all that long.

    5. After waiting for years I finally ordered my first BJD in October of last year(2010). :D

      The wait was a real killer. @w@ ;; I never waited so long for something before, but after a few months he finally came to me late January of this year. ^-^ <3 I remember how it was the day before the first day of some vacation, and when I got home from classes, the was a box in my room. It was really unreal. x'D

      But....my folks made me eat dinner before I opened the box. >> ;;;; So I ate in like 5 minutes and then I opened the box. :D And after I finished unpacking it was love at first sight. *o* Then I just replaced the eyes, put on the wig, and put on his collar((my boy wears a collar ^^)) and it was amazing. <33 (My folks said that it was funny how I knew how to do everything even though I never even saw one of these dolls in person before this.)) Eeh~

      And then...I had to wait another few weeks to get him his ears (and paint them). @w@ ;;;

    6. Well, I ordered my first doll 1 month and 5 days ago, and I received my shipping notice from Bobobie yesterday. She should be here tomorrow or the day after. Yay! I just ordered my second doll, and he will be here in about another month. I can't wait to see the two of them together. They are going to be so cute!!

    7. I was very lucky in the fact I didn’t have to wait at all for my first doll. I got my first one (Mitsu (VOLKS Sara) while I was in Japan 6-ish years ago. When I went into the VOLKS store and saw her, it was like magic! I instantly asked my friend’s friend to translate and help me get the last one they had of her in the store ^o^ Also got the last of the blue dress she still wears today!

    8. I knew that I wanted my first BJD to be a doll version of my elven princess OC, Sumire. I started my research in August of '07 and finally settled on and bought my Obitsu Gretel head and body as well as a pair of the Obitsu pixi ears on ebay. I also bought her outfit (Violet Ferns), wig (Monique Gold) and eyes (unknown) on ebay at the same time. Since she was bought pice by piece on ebay, the waiting period wasn't really all that long. The Obitsu was a good transition from Dollfies to BJDs and I love to joke that she was my gateway drug. XD

      My first resin doll was a Soom Sard (also a dolly incarnation of one of my OCs) witch took significantly longer to get. Since I purchased him on layaway, I waited close to 6 months! Thank goodness I discovered the joys of Soom MD waiting rooms. I had so much fun in that waiting room and got to know many DOA members through it! :)

    9. Still waiting for my first. I know I'll probably have him home by August at the latest.

    10. I ordered Maika 2 days after joining DoA I think- he is a Bobobie An, and I placed my order back in October of 2008, after having only seen a bjd one time in person! Anyway, I got him through Denver Doll Emporium since I was new to ordering internationally, and was terrified something would happen to something this expensive. However, he was a pre-order and there was a backlog so he didn't arrive until Februrary. While I was waiting, I'd discovered Latidoll and fell in love with all their gorgeous Red Line boys. I found a Lati K on the MP around November, and completely on impulse, I bought him. So a month before Maika arrived, I had Ed, and I was baffled by how small his head was! I remember being afraid I'd made a mistake (because I couldn't do face-ups either, they all came out terrible.) Eventually, after lots of practice, I managed to create decent face-ups, and I still have both dolls now ^_^

      As for the names, Maika's name was pretty much instant. I started off wanting to call him Aniken, after his sculpt name (An), but I've always liked the name Micah, so I picked it, changed the spelling and my gloomy boy was born! My mum came up with Edissen's name and it just kind of stuck XD (he'd had around 7 names before that and none of them seemed right).

    11. Two monthes. The first I was waiting untill my order was ready, and then my dolls went to me during the second month...

    12. I waited a little over a week - 9 days, probably. BlueFairy ships out insanely fast!

      The longest part was three years of trying to decide on which doll I should get while saving up the money, and finding the courage to ask my parents. ^^;

      I was expecting to wait months on end for the package to come, so I was pretty excited when he showed up at my door in a week. :)

    13. My first doll (a DD Saber), I didn't really have to wait for. I had been in Tokyo at the time and had been searching for her for a few weeks, so I bought her as soon as I found her in a Mandarake store.

      The first BJD I ever really had to wait for (two SSDFs), I waited a little less than three months. It was a chore waiting since I'm used to buying limited DDs and getting them fairly quickly, but worth it in the end.

    14. My first doll is from the DOD company, and the type is Homme Ducan.
      Though I have heard of that theDOD may make a long time to wait, I conviced that it will not make so long....
      However, I have waited for three to four months...., that really amazed me at all !!

    15. I waited for DZ Felian 7 months ,but when 6 month was started I buy DZ Annie from my friend.

    16. i wait little over two month.

    17. About two weeks. [It seemed she already made that time when I pushed an order since she's limited.]
      I paid for her before christmas then the company had a long holiday from christmas to new year so I had to wait a bit^^

    18. Hmm..I'm still waiting but hopefully I'll receive my doll in mid-June maybe? D:!!!!!

    19. I had to wait about two months for my first doll.

    20. A week and a half, maybe two weeks. He was ordered from a retailer who had him in stock so shipping was quick.
