1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long did you wait to get your first doll?

Dec 4, 2017

    1. I first heard generally about bjds two years ago but it wasn't until about a year ago that I started actively admiring them and only about five months ago since I resolved to buy one.

    2. I got into the hobby at late 2009, and I had waited 8 years until I finally got my first doll. But I sold it not long after because I dislike the size and body design. Right now, I'm still waiting for my next doll.

    3. i first discovered bjd through articles in the magazines in my early 20-s. i was still a college student back then. i started researching them for years after that, and it was until my late 20's that i finally got my first bjd, a yosd girl. since then i got 2 more msds. & now, i am looking to getting my first sd.

    4. A few months even though she was a secondhand doll. I had started to pay a layaway.

    5. I save money for one month, and wait two month after purchasing.

    6. My situation was very different I was browsing for doll furniture saw a cute doll fell for her and bid. She arrived within the week (this was back in 2006)

I actually didn't know anything about bjd.

After I bought the doll I started trying to figure out more info and asked my friend on an obitsu forum, they pointed me to DOA.

    7. I bought my first doll about a year and a half after I found out about them. I didn't have the funds at the time and kinda forgot about them. :sweat Fast forward to a year later, I rediscovered them, and the more I watched videos about them and looked at other peoples dolls the more I wanted to collect them. :)

    8. I got interested into bjd's when I was about 13-14 ish.. but I never bought one until last year and a couple of months after I graduated from school. Mainly because I never had the funds for one and I didn't think I was ready for such a responsibility. But now I am and it's great!

    9. About 7 or 8 years, then I finally found the one I wanted.

    10. I waited three months to get my first doll. The later doll waited five months or more!!

    11. I waited for around 5 months for my birthday to take the plunge!

    12. I believe it was either 5th or 6th grade that I came across a website just full of BJD pictures. It wasn't until two years ago, sophomore year of college that my parents got me my first doll as a present. I got my second doll roughly three months later via the marketplace with my own saved up money.

    13. My first doll was Benetia from DIM. I waited for around one month. It was faster than I expected.

    14. Four years. I first found Dollfies in 2005- 2006ish, but I had no idea they were posable figures until 2009. That's when someone introduced the concept of BJDs to me, by linking here. It was 2012 when I finally scraped together enough diligence and cash to buy my Resinsoul Long.

    15. It took me about ten years. I found out about them in college and absolutely loved the realism and pose-ability, but I didn't have the money until several years after that and then I didn't have characters I wanted for several more years. Then it was kind of like rediscovering the BJD world after a long hiatus :) After the rediscovery, I think I only waited a month or two, and that was just the time it took to do all the research and be confident in what we were purchasing.

    16. 6month TAT

    17. Khehhh... some part two weeks, some part two month... in`t like waiting!

    18. Around a year and a half, going from when I first made a DOA account to ordering my first doll this June.

    19. I didn't buy my Dollfie Dream as a full doll. I had to buy a blank head first, send it for faceup, then buy a body and clothes. It took around 2-3 months, which is not considered very long xD

    20. I've been interested in doll customizing on and off for years, but I really got into bjd's at the start of this year, and ordered my first in May. She arrived a few weeks ago at the start of August so only about three months which, from what I hear, is pretty short
