1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long did you wait?

Jun 6, 2008

    1. I actually waited to buy my boy for about 3 jears as well

    2. I became seriously interested in BJDs about two months ago, and I bought my Imogene less than a month later. So, I waited about 4-6 weeks to buy her, and then another couple weeks to receive her. I adore her n_n

    3. well I fist saw some pretty pictures on the net and though 'oooh thats nice! how much?... er maybe I'll leave it' didn't really think much about it until I saw more picture quite a while later then it was more like 'want D: ... they're how big? and I can customise :o oh, thats not too bad a price actually...' and I started looking into things more seriously

it wasn't long after that I got my first doll, just a few months

    4. I think you should go ahead and take your Dad up on his offer. That was really sweet of him to offer. Make a re payment plan with him though, something that is agreeable to both of you.
You will undoubtedly love your doll! They are a lot of fun to have around~
P.S. don't forget....Father's Day is coming up. Yours deserves some special attention. ;)

    5. The question's a little vague, but I'll answer by saying that from the time I fell madly in love with my first boy to the day I convinced myself to order him and damn the price was about 3 months (I am an employed adult, but I was less employed then than I am now). It'll be a year in July since I ordered him and a year in September since he came home, and I don't regret it in the least. If I hadn't bought him, I'd be less happy, and I still would've spent all that money on anime DVDs or something equally foolish! I think if you've saved all this time and still think about having a doll and still love the sculpt, you have no reason not to jump on this opportunity. Your dad sounds like a great guy!

    6. i waited 4 months before deciding on what doll to get, 2 months before buying her, 63 days before she was shipped and 4 days before she arrived home. XD

    7. I wating for about two month before I bought my first BJD. I had the money and was inlove.. <3

    8. I knew the dolls exsisted for three or four years before I got interested enough to realize that I could afford one and it wouldn't be hard to get one. (eBay being a barren land back when I noticed the dolls and no one but Volks having an English language website being two of my original issues.) After that turning point... It was probably about 4 months before I finally purchased one (two, rather, then 2 more heads right after).

    9. Saw them online, thought they were weird and ugly, but over time, they grew on me. On various doll forums I frequent, one or two would come up for sale, and there was one I fell in love with. Soon she will be mine! :)

I collect a lot of different dolls, but I don't really forsee me having more than 4 or 5 BJDs. Any more than that would be just dust collectors at my house. I think my DD (dear daughter) and I will have fun playing with the one I have now and the ones I will soon be getting.

Oops forgot to add the timeframe: about 6 months thinking they were ugly, about a month agonizing over the one I fell in love with on the forum, and then only a day or so before ordering Iplehouse Silvia.

    10. Until I saved the money.

Luckily, I had the opportunity to do some work as an extra on several TV shows where they needed people with appropriate historical costume, so I put all the money from three shows, plus a bit of money from a commission for one of the rag dolls I make, towards my first BJD. So I'd say about 3 to 4 months.... I don't remember exactly.

Just be warned - once you get your first, they prove fairly addictive. I thought my first would be the only one, then I "needed" a girl to go with that first boy, then I "accidentally" bought another girl, then someone showed me some tinies and I fell in love with them and..... and... and...

    11. I saw them once before randomly when I was looking at Cartoon Dolls. ^^;;
When i clicked the link, to Dream of doll I was completely in love with the molds.
But I could not figure out why they were so expensive.
      A bit of time passes...
And My friend from Gaia showed me the same website when she told me about her doll!
Turns out she had the mold I first fell in love with!~ And thats when I learned about them, and got one. ^^ I suppose its one of those.. Omen type things? :o

    12. I can't remember when I first came to know about them but then I was like "hmm interesting, but I'll never own one."

Then over the past couple of years I've been getting heavily into photography and I came across BDJs on deviantART a few time, and came to greatly admite oki-oki's gallery and was like "hey I want to try that!"

So I searched around on Ebay and found a CP Delf boy in my price range last week and VOILA I have a doll on my way, waiting to be photographed lol. He will be my first.

    13. When I first saw them (which was randomly while I was searching for Saint Seiya manga...) I thought "oh neat" and then continued about my business, doing some moderate research on them. I thought to myself, at the time, 'No, I don't want one.' But then months passed and I kept looking at them (mostly the Volks site) and I thought they were pretty and I decided I wanted one in January 07 or December of 06. I worked on my husband to let me buy one, and he finally agreed, but it took me until April of that year to decide on which one. I had happened across a picture of DoD's Shall on ebay, one of the stock photos that was being used to sell a wig. It was love at first site, and I scrambled to try and find the company that made her XD

      That first doll has become 4, plus a floating head between that time and now >.>;;

    14. Not so very long actually.

I got seriously interested in bjds...hmm maybe 3/4 months ago. I bought my DOI Luke the 6th of may and my DZ Ying 2 days ago xD Ying will be here much sooner (a week maybe) than my Luke (I heard DOD may take up to 5 months..) I'm sure.

    15. I waited for one and a half year I think. Not because I was unsure about really wanting one or not but because I thought they were so expensive. ^_^ Thinking back I believe it was good taking that time to getting used to the BJD as a phenomena and also the thought of having one, which sculpt I liked the most etc. Now a days I have three boys and am waiting for my first girl to arrive shortly. ^_^ The more time I spend with my darlings the more I get to know them and experience with them the more I also love them both as characters and "simply" BJDs.

In your case I would say go for it! Three years is a long time and I believe you are ready bringing home that special little girl och boy out there who is waiting for you. GOOD LUCK!! <3 <3 <3

    16. I discovered them about a year ago and managed to find a cheap one almost a year later.

That's really generous of your father to give you the money for your doll, or some of it rather. But I guess it would depend on how you feel. But I guess what ozziegoth said, to just pay him back later.

    17. I discovered them about three years ago. But I was highly convinced I would never own one because of the price. Then last october I got really depressed and impuls bought Matt @___@ so there wasn't really any waiting involved...

    18. I first noticed bjds last summer, around this time, but their cost scared me off (I was more concerned with photoshop and tablets and that silly institution called college >_< ) but I got interested again in November, and since January I've been saving up. I finally decided to buy my first just like... a day ago... So that makes it just about a full year.

    19. Thank you! (now to figure out how to order right... ^^)

    20. I was interested at the beginning of this year, but the cost was AHHH!!!! And I had only just seriously started cosplaying/collecting anime artbooks/paint shop pro/vocaloiding so I couldn't bring myself round to it. I came back to it around april and I ordered my first girl then, on my birthday. :) You should deinfitely taking up his offer- if its been three years I'm sure you'll only grow to love them more! ^^
