1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long was it between getting your first and second doll?

Apr 17, 2007

    1. I think it was barely half a month between the purchase of my first doll and my second. I'm already eyeing a head my housemate showed me that I was planning to get next year that's going for cheap on the marketplace. x___x Not a good start?

    2. It's been almost exactly 2 years and My second doll is being made right now. ^^

    3. It's been a very, very long time... like 3 years, because of some problems I got (leaving my mom's house, finding somewhere else to live... all that at 17 years old). Money couldn't go for dolls during these years.
But I found help and now I have a good "regular" situation, so dolls are coming back :)

    4. For me it has been relatively a year between each of my dolls. Now I just need to work on them some more before adding to my doll family.

    5. It was like a year. I would love to have another one this year, but my two dolls are not complete, so I must wait...

    6. I can't remember the exact dates, but my first doll (a SM Mixi) was a late birthday present to myself. I bought her new in early September 2010... the 13th I think, and she didn't arrive until late November/early December. My other doll (a DZ Leo) was bought used in September 2011 and arrived that same month.

So, only have two right now, but it looks like its one doll a year for me... and autumn is dollie season. XD

    7. I actually bought my second doll like a couple weeks after purchasing my first doll. Ironically enough I actually got the second doll first in the mail. Even though they both had to be made.. so I guess the second doll did not have as much of a line wait as the first one did cause I mean they were from the same country and stuff too.. :F

    8. Ha! Ahahaha! Like, a month. I ran myself into the ground! My first doll was an impulse buy, then I had to scramble to scrape up enough for my second doll, who luckily was only a floating head at the time. It did take me another YEAR before I got him his body though. And ANOTHER year before I got him his faceup....
      OTL

    9. I bought my first in May and my second at Christmas time last year, so about seven months between first and second. The time between has rapidly decreased from there, lol. Two and a half months between two and three and only a week between receiving three and ordering four.

    10. I got my first doll on June 19, 2010 and my second on December 1, 2010. So, I guess that's around six months and 18 days.

    11. Hahaha, well, funny story. I was one of those people who looked for a very long time and didn't buy her first doll until after months of actually being in the hobby.
Then, less than a month later, I bought my second, completely spur of the moment. She...got here first XD

    12. I got Audrie in 2010. Chie was a new years 2012 thing. She is on Layaway with a friend. ^^
      And besides that, I'm considering saving for another. I think I waited too long. ;^;

    13. I got Oliver in 2008 and I just ordered my second doll! Once I make my first payment I'll also have a 3rd doll on layaway! @_@ so many so soon!

    14. I hated my first doll, i had her for less than a month then sold her, but before selling her i had already bought my second one to be on her way! (i still have, and LOVE this one :) )

    15. I waited more than one year to purchase my first BJD....and as soon as I found it/fell in love with it/purchased it I had the unbelievable luck to discover another doll I had wanted for a while was being sold at a good price....so there you go, two dolls in a row in a almost a couple of weeks :)

    16. I'm really surprised with how many dolls I've already gotten, actually. o___o Six at home here in nine months (and another two paid off)--yikes! That said, it was a month before I found a second doll I wanted on the MP, and then about two weeks later, I had her. xD

    17. I procured my first BJD two days before joining DoA, so almost two years ago... I recently (maybe a month ago?) purchased my Unoa Lusis faceplate, and won't be acquiring her body for about another five to seven months.

    18. I was originally only going to have one doll, but almost straight away I found out about my grail doll - however, it took me about a year to track her down, so it was almost a year after buying my first doll that I bought my second.

    19. One month between my first two. LOL Fast right?

    20. I got my first BJD at the beginning of March. Two days later another doll arrived! I had the first one on layaway when the second one came along. I paid for them both at the same time, but the second doll ended up being first. Confused? Me too. The one that was supposed to be first, but arrived second has never really fit in because the one I got first stole my heart away@!@!
