1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long was it between getting your first and second doll?

Apr 17, 2007

    1. Am late on the hobby. I was 30+ yo already when I discovered bjd's, and now close to 40's. I got my first on August 2010. I have many priorities in life and decided to get only one per year. However my second doll (which was purchased on May 2011) had a very, very long waiting time so I didn't get any last year. For this year, I just paid and in waiting time for my third doll now There's very short gap on 2nd doll arrival/3rd doll purchase but that's only because of the waiting time. I am happy for what I have with me right now.

    2. I don't have a second doll yet. But I really don't plan on getting one until probably about a year from now. I'm about to move and need to settle in and start saving up for school so I can pay my tuition and things like that. Otherwise, the second I had the money I probably would have another doll on the way.

    3. i got my first bjd march 6 and i have a layaway for the second doll last march 25 expecting that he will be here on august....

    4. I bought Kadan (first) on May 8th and he arrived a couple of days ago (june 14th) and in the time of waiting I got an urge for a tiny as well, and my parents said they'd get her for my birthday... which is in a little over a week (and was ordered today from MoC *She was in stock*)

    5. It took me less then a year to decide which doll i want (like MSD or SD or whatever) and to buy the head (it was more like "you need to buy this head now or someone else will buy it) but it took a year to start and buy the body, clothes etc. Now, i found someone who can make her face-up. As long as a doll is not complete, i do not see her as a "real doll". So, i would say i will get my doll a year and few months, after my first doll.

    6. I actually bought my second doll waiting for my first one. :sweat

    7. It was about four years between my first and second doll. I did buy a few floating heads between that time, but it took me a while to actually purchase another full doll, and when I finally did I bought two at once (two Soulkids).

    8. I bought my first boy in June 2011 and my first girl just 2 weeks after :sweat

    9. I bought my first in September and my second in December. It seems as though each year I buy one or two dolls. I was surprised when I looked back that it is that few per year since it seems like I've gone through many dolls.

I must say though that I don't have either of those first two dolls as I sold them both after purchasing my third when I realized that they just weren't a good fit with the way my collection was going.

    10. i got my first one in june, and i plan on ordering the second one in january. they'll be at least 9 months apart or so. it hurts even to think of so, LOL XD

    11. I bought Marc In 2010. I may have a second, complete, doll at the end of this year, or beginning 2013.
So, approximately 3 years to get a second doll.

    12. I started the layaway for Mim in January this year and because I couldn't stand the wait I bought my second one just a few weeks later. And since July I bought 4 more dolls... And I have plans to buy at least one doll per month at the moment^^

    13. Well I got Chale on the end of February 2012 and my two second dolls practically arrived at the same time in June 2012. I ordered my second Dollzone doll the same day my first day arrived home. :blush

    14. I ordered Yume and special doll Babel from Doll Leaves in May, then whilst I was waiting for them I pre ordered Another Me V then bought Noir[Doll Leaves] and I also bought Amy from [Impldoll]. I received Noir first then the others arrived within a week of each other.

    15. Only one month...

    16. Two months for me, and the third was already ordered but arrived three months after the second. I got to six in less than a year, but I've slowed down due to financial changes and haven't gotten any more lately. :)

    17. 5 Month and to the third then also 5. But now I´m at my limit of owning dolls.

    18. I won't count the lati's I had years ago as they came and went and I wasn't really a BJD collector, I just liked small dolls.

For me, it was two years between the first and second :) The gap between the second and third dolls was 6 months. Hoping to get my next one possibly mid next year, so it'll hopefully be another year :)

    19. Hm... well I will be bringing home my very first doll this Christmas (35cm IH KID) and along with her I am getting a limited outfit set for a boy. In addition I am fully planning to get an IH JID and eventually and IH BID (just please don't tell my husband, girls!) I'd ultimately love to get a male JID as well and end up with a 5 doll, 3 child family (collective "aw" or "oh my gosh how unoriginal" as you see fit!) : ) I am a mummy myself so I am drawn to families.

As for when I will get the second doll, I can attest that as you get older (I'm 28) time seems to go much faster and a 6 month or year long wait doesn't seem like something I couldn't manage. That along with the huuuge cost makes me think I'll be waiting at least 6 months to a year to get my second doll.

Sorry that was a bit longer than I intended!

    20. getting my first doll was really hard but in a way a very good experience
and was very happy with my first doll , choosing the doll and what i got
