1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How long was it between getting your first and second doll?

Apr 17, 2007

    1. I think it was about two or three years between them; I just couldn't bond with my current doll and, after having the opportunity to see several different sculpts of different sizes and companies side by side in person, I came to the conclusion that, for all my planning and thinking until the moment of the purchase, I had chosen a doll that wasn't what I truly wanted. I did plan to have three bjds from the starr, but wanted them all to look harmonious side by side, and for that, my first doll was just not the ideal one, sadly!.... So when I bought my second doll, it was like she was my first - she certainly was the first ond I truly cared for.
I suppose these things happen... But it took me a long time to realize that my preferred style was different than I thought it was.

    2. I think it was only a month for me. I just kind of went a bit wild after getting my first.

    3. When I bought the first doll in the evening of the same day I decided to buy a second

    4. comming up to a year...hopefully won't be too much longer until i can start on my Yumi!

    5. About four months. I bought my first one in February 2008 (and received him shortly after, he was from a domestic reseller), and in June 2008 found a company doing a "free head" event, with two sculpts that would be perfect for characters to go with my first. Patience? What's that? :)

    6. I got my first doll in December 2012 as a X-mass present from my mother and sister. Then I got my first doll that I payed for myself in April 2013, and my DreamingDoll this May. So then my doll buying went over the river and through the woods after that...:sweat I now have a DollMore, a DollLeaves, and a Soom doll I am waiting for. :)

    7. I ordered my first doll last month, still waiting for her. Already looking for her companion!

    8. I got my second doll only 4 months after my first 1/3 boy, I knew I wanted her so I put out a WTB thread in the market place and someone answered a lot faster than I though it would be. Now the kicker is, I was given a little 1/6 DIM Leisha 2 months after my 1/3 boy came home, she was a problem doll for her first owner and she's still a little ornery when she wants to be. :)

    9. I bought Jasmine in June/July 2012 and Alex was bought in April 2013

    10. About a month. I told myself that I would wait in between, but then I saw this doll that I knew that was going to be my next one for 200$ less than the original price so I jumped on the occasion

    11. Like a few days, LOL I ordered a doll directly from the site then my impatience got the best of me and fortunately eBay had the other doll I really wanted so I was excited to adopt her while waiting 3+ months for the other to be produced and arrive. :)

    12. I ordered my first doll around the end of summer last year and my second one I few months later.
But in the end they arrived in the same month, so my first dolly I got for my birthday and my second one was my Christmas present.

    13. I waited 2 months after getting my Pkifee to purchase my Minifee ^^

    14. I got two at the same time so I'm going to count them as one~

I got them in January... and then I got my Kivi about nine and a bit months later~

    15. Almost 3 months. I thought my first doll really needed a companion.

    16. I think there was only a month in between when Jono and Jubes arrived. Jubes looked so lonely up there on her shelf. Now the dolly population has exploded.

    17. I bought my first doll as a birthday present to myself/reward to myself for quitting smoking and sticking with it for 6 months. (She was my dream doll---the one I'd want if i could only have one BJD. Holding her out to myself as something to look forward to as well as what the cigarette money was being diverted to was a HUGE part of what got me through the initial super-hard part of the quit.) Her head arrived the weekend of my birthday, back in July, and then that week my husband bought me my second doll, as his birthday present to me. My second girl only just arrived this month, though! So my first two were ordered very close together, but arrived several months apart. They're my only two right now..... I've started a little fund for number 3, but it will probably be quite a while.

    18. This is a pretty tricky question when layaway is involved :XD:

I ordered Cuprit in March 2009. Due to a six-month layaway, she didn't arrive until 9 months later, in December 2009. In between ordering Cuprit and having her arrive home, I ordered: Chrom (May), Cass (Jul), Yrie (Oct), Galena (Nov) and Ai (Dec), all also on layaway. Keep in mind that all of these except Galena were splits (I only bought heads and fantasy parts, no full dolls), as well. The first doll I ordered after Cuprit arrived was Chalco (January 2010).

So, I have different answers to different questions:
How long was it until I ordered another doll (counting heads) after ordering my first? 1 month (Soom Chrom, head and fantasy parts only).
How long was it until I ordered another doll (full dolls only) after ordering my first? 8 months (Soom Galena, full doll)
How long was it until I ordered another doll (full or partial) after my first doll arrived home? 1 month (Soom Chalco, full doll)

    19. Only few weeks. I couldn't wait tip my new doll was ready and shipped so I bought a old one.

    20. I had my first for a year and half before I bought my second. A few months later, I got my third, and then my fourth was ordered for me by my parents a few weeks ago, and I'm in the process of buying my fifth right now.
