Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. I was trying to only keep to one... maybe two dolls... and definitely only one per year...

      But I got my second only a month or two later, and then got a third within a year. *_*

    2. My first full year will hit in September and so far I've bought three full dolls and three floating heads. When I bought my first doll I said to myself that I most likely wouldn't be able to afford another until this time next year, which would be September of this year. Yeah that didn't last. I ordered my second doll the same day I paid off my first. Were there's a will there's a way.

    3. In a 12 month period since I GOT my first boy (which was only about a week after I bought him... yay MP) I have 5 then one floating head. Now just about a month or two after my anniversary I have 1 on order and 1 on lay-a-way.

      A friend of mine is also in the same boat. At least our spree isn't out of the ordinary XD.

    4. I always find it really surprising when people say how many dolls they bought in their first year of collecting @__@ I mean wow. I bought Ein in 2007 and... well, planning to buy my next doll this December. Fff... I can't imagine owning so many...

      I now own 9 dolls and I would only call a few really 'finished' theres always something you can change :)

    7. I got my first doll body second hand (VS SD13) in June. My first full doll third hand (SA Bermann) arrived later that same June. Ordered the head (SS El) from Luts for the SD13 body in July. Ordered another head from Kyaante (Re-Che) in October. I think I ordered my Iplehouse Soo-Ri before the end of the year but I can't be sure if he arrived in December. I sold the head and kept the body for my Re-Che which was as planned. So that was it for buying dolls in 2005.

      If we follow 12 months since I started - I bought another VS Tony via Lottery in March of '06 and a second hand SD16 Yukinojo to hybrid the body with my Tony after that. I gave the Yukinojo head to my GF. Sometime around June of '06 I got my HyperManiac Omicron.

      So in a 12 month period about five full doll plus some heads. Since then one of them has gotten a new head but I still have all the dolls I put together.

    9. Three. I had my first boy all by himself for several months and was quite content with 'just one.' I got my second when j-spot steeply discounted some of their older in stock dolls because she was such a great deal, (she's since moved on to a new home...I still miss her every now and again). My third I got as a trade for some face-up and tattoo work I did :)

    10. In the first 12 months I purchased 7 bjds. Interestingly enough, after six years, I remain at 7 bjds with 3 of them from the original group. Finished bjds? I suppose, as they have tons of shoes and clothes!

    11. Right after I placed my first order for two dolls, and I mean approximately a week later, I ordered two more! So my total is 5 (the 5th was an event doll). I'm trying not to look at more pictures because the more I see the more I want. Well not really, I want 2 maybe 3 more. :sweat

    12. I got 3 within my first year. I never really planned to get that many so fast, but I unexpectedly got some money from house-sitting to buy my second and my third was a gift.

      as for 'finished dolls' my first is pretty well complete, aside from his nice pair of glass eyes which are incoming and it's much the same story with my third. My second however still is waiting on me to make him a tail...once he gets that, then he'll be complete.

    13. One @_@ It was towards the end of the year though(about September she arrived), and I got my second a few weeks ago from the MP, and I have a third on layaway(month or less) so in a time span of 12 months, almost three. :)

    14. In less then a year, 3! An Island doll yo boy (Bobo sculpt), Pukipuki (Pong Pong), and Island doll msd girl (Amy). And naturally after a year I have another on order Illusion Spirit (Lin Xi). I will never learn. *sadly shakes head and smiles*

    15. How many dolls did you purchase in your first year of collecting? I will be at one year at the end of October and have purchased six full dolls and one head. I have since sold the head but still have (and love) these first five and have one incoming. I plan on ordering one more before my first year is up :) I started with my puki-sized doll and was so in love I went looking for my next one straight away. I have bought one of each size to try to see what I like best but it turns out I like them all. :)

      Did you finish yoiur first doll before buying more? My first and second dolls were fullset so they had everything. My third I ordered and purchased clothes, eyes, wigs etc. at the same time. I didn't want her to go without. I don't like having unfinished dolls which I think is why I sold my head even though I really liked it.

    16. Well, my first doll came Sept 10 of last year. Since we're steadily approaching that mark, I will have had 2 dolls within my first official year.

      The second came at the beginning of last month.

    17. I seem to be in the extreme minority here. In the course of one 12-month period, from purchase of my first doll, I purchased a grand total of. . . ONE. Yeah. My first is all I still have currently, and it probably won't be until this time next year I get a second, due to lack of budget. That hasn't stopped me from oggling, coveting, and making loose plans, but that doesn't change the fact that in one year I kept it down to just one doll. Does that mean I just have that much willpower, or just that little budget? ^^;

      As for my first being "finished", I don't think that's ever truly going to happen. I knew when I bought her that she was going to always be an ongoing project. However, she does currently have the right eyes, a workable wig, good custom glasses in two sizes, a Victorian-esque dress, and the perfect pair of shoes. However, I intend to make her at least two outfits from the comic she's based on (already have the fabric, yay!), and she definitely needs at least one death ray before I can consider her done enough to send photos to the authors/artists of the comic she's based on.

    18. I only bought one doll within the 12 month period after getting my first. He was an Elfdoll Wu, and I still have him! Intially, for the the first few years after I started collecting, I was buying only one doll every twelve months. My buying has sped up a bit in the last few years, but it's rounded out at about 2 full dolls per year.

      I feel like I am quite slow when it comes to collecting compared to many other members, however I think going slow has meant i'm usally very sure about the doll and whether I want it before I make a purchase. To date i've only sold two dolls! Although i'm sure i'd probably buy more if I could afford dolls more often, it's more down to lack of funds then due to choice! Haha! XD

    19. Hi everyone! I'm a BJD junkie!

      I got my first doll in February this year and I'm up to 11 (5 SD, 1 MSD, and 5 tinies) and a floating head.

      Last night my partner asked me how many I needed (I originally told him 3). I just looked at him and told him I was a collector now, and I didn't want to make any promises. Apparently the crazy came through and he just asked that if I got 10, or 20, or 30, that I would hide some sometimes so he wouldn't have to deal with too many of them staring at him. :lol::doh
