How many of the same molds will you get?

I have a few duplicates, but it's mostly twins and such. However, I have a serious weakness for Shiwoo's, so at one point I had 4 MNF Shiwoos. xD Each one was a different character and they all looked very different. I'm now down to one MNF and one SD Shiwoo. I just think the mold is really versatile so having multiples isn't so big an issue. Oh, other exception would be my two Dollshe Saints. I never meant to have 2, but it worked out that way. One is modded though and not your typical saint. The other is totally normal. I do love it though, and see nothing wrong with having more than one of the same sculpt. Now if you have multiples but they all had the same default faceup but were supposed to be unrelated....I'm not sure it would look very believable. :P

 

I find ABJD so wonderfully customizable that I see no reason to limit myself to only one of any sculpt. If I like a sculpt well enough, I've been known to have multiples.... in one case, as many as five. Usually with my multiples there are some differences, however: resin color, SA vs. OE, vastly different faceup styles, mods to one or both.... that sort of thing. But I also have three sets of identical twins, although even they are not exactly the same. Most of my multiples represent family members (to take advantage of the similarities), but not all. Each of my dolls does have a distinguishably different character, which is far more important to me than whether I have already used a certain sculpt before.

So I guess you could accurately say I don't have a set limit to however many of a sculpt I would ever own. Practicality and my love of diversity dictate that I will probably not have more than a handful of any single one, though.

For me, it is endlessly interesting how many of us have "rules" for oursevles as collectors (even using the term "collector" is a no-no with some who might prefer to be called "guardians" or something like that). I have BJD friends who think it's silly to have multiples of a sculpt, but it's just their way, their choice, and hopefully none of us thinks less of the other(s) just because our personal ways of enjoying this hobby are different.

 

Two. I only reserve duplicates for sculpts that are truly above and beyond to me. Otherwise, one per, as there are too many nice sculpts and not nearly enough money!

 

I am super inlove with the delf Miyu!
I love her face so much that I couldn't see myself with anything else.
Now that fairyland has the Feeple60 line Im planning my next girl, a feeple60 Miyu!
She's basically going to be the opposite in style to my current Miyu.

So I get to have 2 of the same molds with a different look.
They're also sisters so it makes sense for them to look alike right? ;p

Would I want more than 2 though? Hmm, not really sure.
I would worry that I might get bored of them and want something else, but I'll always have a soft spot for Miyus.
Maybe some day I'll adopt another Miyu, but 2 is enough for me right now!

 

I have two MNF Shushus and I'm pondering having more. XD She's my favorite MNF!

 

I did consider getting another head of a sculpt I already have, but is it bad that I decided against it because I want to have one of each company? I'm such a stickler for diversity.

 

I have one Little Fair Cien, and in the planning a Present (sleeping) Cien for his brother. I still kind of want another Cien to be the brother to my Bluefairy boy, but actual Cien twins would be even better, of course! And a grumpy blonde Cien girl to watch over the little rascals x'D

I won't ever tire of Cien, I think :v I love the sculpts of my other dolls very dearly, but they are so unique to me that owing more than one would prevent me from creating another character for it. Cien is versatile enough to be separate characters.

 

Lately i became twin addicted.
I currently own 2 Soom Migmas cw+lv, 2 Soom Dia, Soom Goss and Thera twins, 2 Bluefairy Tinyfairy May, 2 Bluefairy Shinyfairy May... so as you can see i'm totally addicted. XD
It's so weird to me because a few years ago i never really understud why a doll owner would chose the same mold twice, but now i totally get it.

 

If I just loved the sculpt I might get two. They would probrobly be twins or just two random people that happened to look the same.

 

I would love to have more than one DollnDoll King Yuha, but I cannot fit him into my finances. I would also spawn many many Dollshe Saint's if I could. I will definetly get at least two with different faceplates. You can never have too much of a good thing, I think. IMHO

 

I would have thought my answer would be 1 of each unless they're twins... But Sabik happened! Admittedly this will be Mecha Angel and Super Gem size, so they aren't the same scale - and they are both supposed to be the same person... (just magically scaled down to be "human" sized like the rest of the gang) but still!

 

I don't think I'd get the same mold twice ... except to mod one of them. If I had the chance to pick up another head like one I've already got I'd snatch it just to be able to give them a sleeping head.

 

I never get the same mold twice, there are so many wonderful dollies out there ... I always find myself looking for a new face that I'd instantly fall for! That's one of the things that keeps me interested in this hobby

 

Two, only to make twins. I don't like to have more of the same mold because I like variation. I have the idea of making twins with a couple of Miho from Migidoll. Another idea I was thinking, was about making a Doppelgänger. It could be nice.

 

I have a RS Mei in light tan. I wouldn't mind getting another one... Or two. Haha. I also wouldn't mind having another Mo-b head.

 

I'd probably get a second Anona if money was no problem. I love her face.

 

Oh! I would love to have another Minifee Ryeon and another Minifee VE Woosoo, as well as a normal Minifee Woosoo!

 

I bought 3 of the same mold.. one in tan and the other two with different face ups.. I couldn't resist !

 

I think it'd be weird, personally, knowing they're the same mold, so the duplicate would not be able to play in everyone else's universe.
I will probably get another Doll Chateau Hugh, though. His face is so adorable, I love the slope of his nose and mouth.

 

I've only got a pair of twins, so far. I don't mind, as that's what their characters are. I've also got a couple pairs of twins in my wish list, so it doesn't really bother me to have the same sculpt repeated in my doll family.
